The travel bag looked worn and dusty enough that Sasuke would wager she hadn't even gotten to an inn yet, if Tsunade's luck hadn't taught him that wagering would only lead to even less money in his clan-skimmed account. He waited for the acknowledgment before sitting down, ignoring the annoyed look of the bouncer. It wasn't like he was going to drink, anyway; Obito had seen to that.

"I've been busy," he said, truthfully, and then found himself grinning a bit despite his exhaustion: "Itachi finally recommended me for jounin. I'm in the middle of testing."

Pausing, it occurred to him that it was poor manners to launch into his news without giving his teacher a chance to go through hers, and he belatedly added in a blur of practiced formality: "I hope you're doing well and your travels are interesting."
