Feeling it purring helped, and she found the company was nice as well. Whether or not she could have pushed for conversation further was debatable, but with the short distance it likely wasn't needed. True, she could have commented on the flower bulbs or the cats, but that was none of her business -- actually, asking about it would be rude. She knew she wouldn't appreciate it if she happened to be embarrassed over it or something, so how could she expect this guy to?
