Fugaku sat silent for a moment, giving Iruka a long, frosty look.
"Iruka-san, do I need a reason to want my son at home?" Fugaku had a rather...trained relationship with both his children, and he doubted he could ever repair that, but that didn't mean he wasn't seriously invested in their welfare. He did love his children, but his feeling of love didn't seem to come out in a way that anyone else seemed to recognize.
Except Mikoto, but that was a special talent of hers, evidently.
