That was one thing Kisame liked about Sephiroth. The man was as honest as Kisame thought a Kiri-nin could be. He didn't even hesitate before revealing that he was taking detours after missions. Worth raising an eyebrow over, but at least it wasn't before the mission.

Kisame didn't believe in luck, so the words rang hollow, but it was the kind of little niceties that were expected, and being friendly but not personal had turned out better at keeping people at a distance than being cold and hostile.
