noboatbigenough: (Might be a cunning linguist.)

The frown was like a burst of pleasure. Someone intelligent and perceptive enough to note the lies, even if he was too wrapped up to call them out. Well, Kisame supposed it might be better to play along rather than cause a diplomatic incident in the streets.

Really, this was why he hated these missions. The urge to rip lies out by throat or by death was so strong. He was perhaps not suited to the life of a shinobi. At least, not in the intelligence division, leading it from the shadows the way Fuguki-sensei had before him. At leas he wasn't selling Kiri's secrets yet.

Kisame brushed the thoughts aside, and made ready to follow his guide. His laugh had a bit of an edge to it. "I doubt fortune will be smiling. Mizukage-sama himself insisted on spending an hour going over things personally before I left! But the quicker these are delivered, the better, so lead on, Neji-san."

It was the slightest of changes, but just a smidgen more respectful, all the same. Knowing a lie was there was worth that much.
