"It is. The last time I was in Fire Country was in the direct aftermath of the Third War. Not much reason for me to come so far then, eh? Your village is pleasing to look at." Again, another undercurrent in what he said.
Kisame couldn't help but wonder how deep the lies had gone here. Was it like Kiri, with lies so deep one could drown in them? But he really shouldn't think like that; the thoughts made him restless, and it was never good on a mission. With a mental shake, he pulled the veil of his mission objectives back down around himself, chafing, but again a utterly bored yet average jounin on an insultingly easy mission.
Still, with that bit of truth given, Kisame wondered if the Hyuuga would connect the dots. In the aftermath of the Third War, Kiri had waged a war of its own, on everyone who'd defected or even just civilians that had left and not come back in some cases. Kisame had been at the head of it, along with a couple others in the Seven, and the masks had only been a formality. Everyone knew, even the other Countries, who was doing the hunting, if not what they looked like underneath. But that made them even more feared in Kiri, and the defections had slowed. Not stopped, and sometimes Kisame wondered when two or three squads would be sent for him instead of the other way around. He was careful this time not to let that musing show on his face, and instead looked around with obvious curiosity.
"After these are delivered, maybe you can point out the best place to get a meal here! Missions always make me hungry."
