Kankuro paid very little mind to stories and hearsay of the reputation of other villages - particularly the reputation of its shinobi - but of course Kankuro had heard of the seven swordsmen before, and therefore understood why his escort was so very clearly capable. This mission was solely for political purposes, but the heavy weight on Kankuro's shoulders to improve his personal effort rang clear in his mind, and so he supposed his companion choices could have been much worse...
