These shinobi might be the key to getting the tribe a foothold in the greater world, as little as Gale wants to rely on them. He doesn't trust them not to use the Embryon for their own wants. After all, they'd nearly done that to their allied tribes during the war. In hindsight Gale is ...pleased he was overruled and prevented from betrayal. Bat and his actions make Gale almost not hungry when he thinks about it. Words float to the surface; "curdling his stomach." Though why those words, he's not sure. His stomach isn't milk.

But he understands Argilla, and her concern. These shinobi were more than an unknown. At least they had years of battle against the other tribes to base their strategy on. They know less than nothing about these strangers. It's a disadvantage, and it makes Gale want to bare and clench his teeth. But he doesn't, because the shinobi could arrive at any moment.

"I understand. But we will persevere." It's all he can offer, even though he knows it's not enough.
