Iwa held many secrets and weapons within its borders(natives would proudly insist to each other that they held more than any other nation), Nakago was not among those. Anyone who knew anything about Iwa knew about 'Nakago', the mysterious and powerful general of Iwa's forces. Despire that, few even in Iwa knew where he came from, nor what name he used to have before the daimyo of the land renamed him after a mythic figure.
He was little more than a name and a figure used to intimidate, so long as Iwa chose to keep to the current peace...but then, how many ninja truly believed that the peace would last much longer than it had, anyway?
To him, there never really had been any peace to begin with. When war wasn't declared, that simply meant his assignments changed from leading divisions of ninja into neighboring lands to walking quietly into another land and making enemies disappear without the glory and recognition that came along with military victories and open conquest.
Those sorts of things never really mattered to him at all, though, and so he went where he was told, killed what he was directed to, and carried the unspoken message of Iwa's might to every village he entered under the banner of peace.
