Test Drive Post!
Sunshineverse | ||||||||
Okay everyone, it's time to test some people out! The rules of the game are simple. You have a character you would like to try out as a native to the setting of this game. You want to see if this is the right setting to play said character in, right? Well, then all you have to do is drop them into this post as a top level comment with this as the header: Character name | Series (OC's just put Original here) | Planned Village Affiliation Then you comment around and play with everyone else! If you need some ideas on how to get started, you can drop your character in during the middle of a mission, have them at an eatery around their village, or maybe even just doing weapons practice. It's up to you how you want to set out, so feel free to put your characters in this version of the Naruto universe however it most seems appropriate. Just be sure to say where you put them somewhere in your post though, otherwise two people might not even be threading in the same country. One last thing! Remember that your character was born in this universe, so whatever else you decide, your character is a world native, even if they might be a tourist in the village you decided to test them out on. And that's it. Just be good to each other and have fun! Threads you do here can count toward future activity checks, so long as the person you're threading with gets in too. These threads can also be used for samples on your application.

Where in the world was that girl? She'd heard that the other had been on mission until recently, but it still didn't stop the red head from getting irritated when it turned out that the other was late. All that work into the special order spiked mace with chakra conductivity and she couldn't pick it up in time?
Sigh... Adela just collapsed onto a bench as she held the mace in its peacebound container, shaking her head. No, she'd heard about how much of a weapons' nut Tenten was. If she was late in picking up a weapon especially crafted for her, there was probably a reason for it. She'd just have to start heading back if she couldn't find Tenten around the village - nothing short of death would probably keep her away, if the quality of the Milani Forge was worth anything to the older girl.

A last minute B-Ranked mission had forced her to leave the village without the aid of her usual teammates. And that meant dealing with new unknowns and figuring out group dynamics along the way to the Land of Wind. It was a rocky start, as expected, and had only mildly tempered out by the end. Still, they had been forced to change their projected schedule a multitude of times. And for someone who had been raised and fed on a strict training regiment since she was twelve, delays were hardly acceptable, especially ones that were born out of internal conflicts.
It took all of ten seconds to grind it all into dust when her patience finally snapped, but needless to say, Tenten was irritated.
And that would be the state that the other will find her in as she stalked towards the meeting spot, coming from the direction of the Hokage Tower with her entire uniform covered in dust and dried mud with one leg of her pants ripped clean off. And looking no worse for the wear.
'Weapons will make it better. Yeah. Weapons will make it better...'
Sorry for the slow reply!
Oh you're fine! I'll likely have a few slow replies of my own. BACKTAGGING IS MY BEST FRIEND >>;

Mostly that involves throwing up gallons of water until he's too exhausted to walk.
Aware of the demands of a Jounin, he's sure his team can understand, but they deserve more than a series of scattered appearances at their usual meeting ground over the course of a couple months. So on a day where Yamato's scheduled nothing, Obito doesn't need him, and he has no forseeable missions to prepare for, Neji shoves his daily training regimen aside to seek out his teammates.
He finds Tenten practicing like she always would, and he almost feels like a Genin again as he leans up against a tree to watch. Gai and Lee could be running morning laps around the village on their hands for all they know. They'd arrive sweaty and disgusting and boasting to one another. Strange to think it wasn't so long ago.
He wonders how many mornings they've done that without him.
A dozen targets surround his teammate, each more complex than the last, and Neji knows they don't stand a chance. He's always quietly admired that about her. His vision grants him clinical accuracy, but the Byakugan can't anticipate changes in the wind, and only give him a slightly better grasp of angles and velocity- things that seem like intrinsic knowledge to her.
"Tenten," he greets at last, stepping out from under the shade of the trees. "Your accuracy is as impeccable as ever."

Konan | Naruto | Amegakure
She would always respect Nagato's decision, she'd told herself. Pein would be the symbolic leader; he would lead, just as Yahiko had done, his dreams immortalized. A god. Of course Nagato would get out of his seat at the back and take the reins, like Yahiko had always said he should. But... still...
There had been no crossing over. There had been no mourning. For he was still here. Still amongst them though he lacked a beating heart and that sunshine smile. Those memories, and the feelings that came with it, she kept to herself-- only letting them out in silence in the rain where the water washed all the evidence off her face. Though today she wasn't crying. It was long since she'd cried her last. There was nothing left to spill.
Konan sat on the ledge of the old Akatsuki headquarters, watching the rain as it pelted unrelenting down on Ame. The paper rose in her hair seemed to have withered away, soaking wet and falling apart.

Thus it was that he was here as himself, one pale hand reaching to gently pull the sodden flower from her hair as he came to a stop beside her. "I haven't seen you so sad in some time."

Kiba Inuzuka | Naruto | Konoha
When he relayed this to his canine companion, Akamaru pointedly supplied that Kiba wasn't actually doing anything but sitting on his back while Akamaru did all the legwork, but Kiba was too annoyed to listen properly.
Then again, he had to admit... The praise he got in return made the blow a little less harsh. After all, they were right; he and Akamaru really were the best for the job. He and Akamaru had grown into a fine pair - Kiba filling out evenly and firmly into the body of a young adult rather than a scrappy child, and Akamaru growing from a tiny puppy to a behemoth of fur and warmth. By far, in Kiba's opinion at least, there was no other team capable of doing this job as well as them.
He turned back to Akamaru once he'd successfully delivered his last favor of the day, and scruffed the huge dog around his neck with both hands.
"Good job, Akamaru!" he grinned as his friend yapped in approval and then shoved his wet nose into Kiba's ear.
I sincerely hope you don't mind an OC, but KIBA =D
Adela just blinked as she held her groceries in their brown bag, staring at the two as they walked through town. She had heard about the Inuzuka Clan's giant canines, but this was honestly her first time seeing one of them close. And... As she looked over Akamaru, she couldn't help finding him cute at the same time.
She couldn't help herself, she wore a warm smile as she approached to take a closer look at the two, not really caring that she'd get noticed at any second - at least, she wouldn't care until she did get noticed, but watching the teen with his dog was just nice.

...She wasn't about to point out to Kiba her opinion on the favors she'd heard about him making, though. She wasn't that terrible of a teammate. She also didn't want to risk Tsume turning on her about it. (Tsume might not carry the quiet wrath of an upset Aburame, but her loud wrath wasn't generally a thing to take lightly either.)
She dropped from a nearby rooftop to the ground. With their noses and ears it wasn't as if she could startle him, but she still dropped out of licking distance. For safety.
"Are you done, or just celebrating that the lady with all the cats didn't notice you?" She was guessing the former, but in fairness the other thing would have been almost expected as well, considering her weird tendency to bother any Inuzuka she ran into about becoming a cat clan.

I have no idea I just couldn't pass up the opportunity.
It was one of the few escapes she allowed herself, especially right now with how her family was being so gung-ho about keeping all eyes on her. She was just coming out of the trees and had the chance to watch a very large dog snuffle a former classmate from the academy. To her the display of affection was cute, to Takeo it was...well it was something if she were to judge by how he went rigid at her side. There was a small sweep of his forepaws and he had himself between Hinata and the white dog.
She can't help the smile as she pats Takeo on the head. "It's alright Takeo, the Inuzuka are very thorough in training their companions," she murmurs gently. All the while trying to coax a bear, that when standing towered over her, into not being so overprotective when in her home village.

Couldn't help myself.
As for her brother, Hana just grins crookedly and drawls, "No treat for you, Kiba. Having Akamaru carry your lazy butt around all day just makes his job harder." Teasing little brothers is the prerogative of an older sibling, right?
EXCITED NOISES.

Tsunade | Naruto | Konoha/Independentish | IHU MIRO
EEEEEEEEEEEEEE
The girl couldn't believe her eyes when she saw the blond kunoichi strolling through, feeling her heart speed a little at the sight. Holy crap, it'd been months since she'd seen the Sanin last! So much had happened since then, it felt like ages longer since they'd last had contact. So much, from being poisoned to missions to gossip to...
She wanted to touch the scar over the skin on her left eye, but she refrained and instead waited for the other to address her. Tsunade probably didn't want to hear about any of that.

Nuriko || Fushigi Yuugi || Land of Noodles
Wearing the proper kimono for the jutsu he, rather SHE, was using Nuriko walked through the village's market. It was a gorgeous day out, and she was feeling rather gorgeous herself.
She bumped into a random passerby and excused herself, "Oh, so sorry, my bad. I guess I can be a little clumsy at times~" it was a sing-song voice, and all around a happy mood she was in. Not to mention she had just returned from a side mission and had money to spend today.
Yes, it WAS a good day.
Eeeeee~
... Oh wow, this woman was pretty. Adela found herself staring for a moment before she shook it off, embarrassed that she had stared. The woman was really pretty, but it'd be weird if she stared... And it felt even more awkward that the woman was still there. Maybe she was thinking about it too hard, it wasn't that much time that had passed...
oh goodness I got a tag! :3
Yes yes you did :3
They're already making me want to app not just Nuriko, but Maka too on plurk. xD
Oh dear. XD; I'm having fun playing off of Nuriko though!

Rin Okumura | Blue Exorcist | Kirigakure
Rin tried hard not to look too impressed with Konoha. It wouldn't be right to be drawn into its splendor. There was something wrong about how cheery everything looked (or it was just the fact that the shop keepers kept trying to talk to him). It seemed like one great illusion to him. Rin was not about to trust just how inviting this village appeared.
That's right, no trusting foreign villages with their fake smiles and their crazy obsessions. He had to complete this mission, as menial as it was. Normally Rin didn't care for courier missions (where was the fun in that?). But just this once he wanted to see for himself if the village was really as gullible and crazy as his countrymen claimed it to be.

Like a deer in the head lights Adela froze, forgetting how to breath for a few seconds. That was before she shook it off, berating herself for panicking over it. He wasn't there for her, they wouldn't try anything within the village in broad daylight. Not now. Not as far as she knew. And, if it came down to it, she wouldn't have to give her last name -- this guy probably didn't even know about the clan goings-on over the past few years, it probably wasn't even a big deal and she was being paranoid.
Quashing her fear, she started to try and replace it with curiosity - just why was he there anyway? Her footsteps carried her petite figure forward, and the kunoichi stopped with eyes blind-and-not focused on Rin as she asked, "Hey, stranger. What're you doing in Konoha, if you don't mind me asking?"
... Hey, she could be polite when she tried. And she had to learn how to be polite more often anyway.

Somehow, it wasn't the kind of figure he'd expected to see, and he picked his way down to walk beside the boy without a word. Time to see exactly how long that would fly before the foreigner had to break the silence.

Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III | HTTYD2 | Udon no Kuni (whoops wrong account!)
That is probably the last thing anyone within earshot would be able to make out before there's that part of the wall and that other building (thankfully uninhabited at the time--- OR IS IT??!) that comes crumbling to the ground amidst a billowing cloud of dust and debris. And it wouldn't be long before anyone can make out a wing... a tail... and a peg-leg.
"Oooooh no, he isn't going to like this--" Muffled voices from under that pile of dragon. "You don't suppose that's one of those buildings on the to-be-razed list, do you?"
All he gets is an exasperated grunt from the dragon, who steps aside almost immediately, revealing the guy who started the mess. Yeeeeah-- gonna have to adjust that leg.

Adela just blinked at the fallen boy -- man? And the giant black lizard once she arrived on the scene, frowning after a beat before she knelt to try and meet the eyes of the former, "Oiy, you all right? Anything hurting or numb?"
She wasn't exactly a medical nin, but she at least knew basic first aid if this idiot had hurt himself that badly. It was kind of hard to ignore the crashing and debris flying as well, even from the market. She just kept meeting all kinds of strange people in this country -- first noodle lord, then that woman of the super strength, and now this guy.

Hiccup truly must have no idea the lecturing Hotohori would have to endure from his counselors.
None of that was really on Hotohori's mind at the moment, however, as he stumbled and hurried through the debris and dust of the leveled section of the palace to get a look at both the damage and the cause. He held up his own silk sleeve to attempt to filter the air somewhat better, rather than choke on the dust in the air.
The dragon...that wasn't particularly familiar...but the person behind it, he was a person that Hotohori was certain he'd seen before while out and about in the city.
Therefore, once the confusion and concern over a possible disaster or attack cleared, Hiccup would have an irate looking lord glaring at him over a lifted (and now dust-ruined) robed arm. "What is the meaning of this?" Hotohori was often known for warmth and gentleness when he spoke.
Very little of that was present in his words at the moment.
