Announcements and Inquiries!

Okay everyone, we know the last few months have been a perilous series of ups and downs because we mods didn't have all our ducks in a row. We've also, after quite a bit of reflection, have realized we painted ourselves into a corner where we have no particular recourse to escape it.
That is not to say that we intend to give up on the game! It simply means that as things are now, the mods are at a loss as to how to handle the situation, and we've come to realize that the game itself is too heavy for the players, especially those that come in being unfamiliar with the fandom, to continue as it currently is.
A lot of people are struggling, and that means that it's time to take a look at it and see how we can fix that.
Because of this, we have considered, and have come to a few hard conclusions.
I will reassure you now that this is not the end of the game! We know there are still several players hanging on, who enjoy the game and the premise and don't want to lose it. Because of that, we'll do our very best not to ruin that for anyone.
However, the plot has become tangled, hard for players to interact with, and limiting.
Because of that, we've determined a way to add the game mechanic of kidnapping characters directly from alternate universes. They'll still be subject to the laws of chakra and how it works once they arrive, but no longer will the only option be AUing characters over. They would have a set start point, and they'd be able to pick their side and faction with only as much information as the player would have on arrival to the game.
That is not to say we're getting rid of the natives! We're not. Players will still have the option to AU characters into the setting as natives in addition to the ability to bring them from another world or timeline. Due to this, it will be possible to have both a Naruto canon, and Sunshine AU of a character, should both players agree. Whoever arrives first has precedent as to if they agree or not.
Any characters who come in as canon from their native homes in this situation would be deemed 'killed' when dropped however, as to avoid ending up with NPC versions of dropped characters, and to allow players freer movement when apping in canon versions. Those who would be locked into their Sunshine histories would, of course, know what they're getting into, and that mechanic would stay the same.
We will be editing the FAQ and application pages accordingly so that it's better explained and organized for the change.
Due to the above circumstance, and the difficulties we've had coordinating, we are going to relaunch the game. We are aware many people are on hiatus, not in the least of which because people are having difficulties with the plot as it stands. Anyone who is currently a player will be able to keep or remove their character as they see fit, and will have our full blessing to rewrite their entire character history if they so wish when we re-open the game.
This should give people time to discuss which CR they want to keep among the current players, and free up any previous locked down CR that made it hard for current characters to be played after the recent drops.
We are uncertain, as of yet, if we will be relaunching in September, or at the beginning of October, but if there are any requests as to changes people would like to see during the transition period, please let us know! This is including, but not exclusive to: regularly scheduled anything, more world information, future plots you would like us to plan into the relaunch, WHEN the game should be in the timeline, if not setting back to where we originally started, or simply suggestions in how we should change navigation to make things easier to find.
Thank you very much for reading, and we look forward to hearing from all the players. Discussion and questions in this post are encouraged and welcomed.
Edit: Anyone who would like to step up, or down, as a mod of any sort, please leave a comment under the question top level.
