[ His Mom smells just as he remembers; the smell that has soothed his worries for years, the scent he'd happily bury his nose in when things got a little too tough. It serves it's purpose now, comforting and grounding him and he basks in it for the little moment he's close to it. He can't even bring himself to sweep away the strands of her hair tickling at his face. He didn't realise how much he'd missed her till she was back; but then it was always like this, even when his parents were only away for a day. ]
