Okay everyone, it's time to test some people out! The rules of the game are simple. You have a character you would like to try out as a native to the setting of this game. You want to see if this is the right setting to play said character in, right? Well, then all you have to do is drop them into this post as a top level comment with this as the header: Character name | Series (OC's just put Original here) | Planned Village Affiliation Then you comment around and play with everyone else! If you need some ideas on how to get started, you can drop your character in during the middle of a mission, have them at an eatery around their village, or maybe even just doing weapons practice. It's up to you how you want to set out, so feel free to put your characters in this version of the Naruto universe however it most seems appropriate. Just be sure to say where you put them somewhere in your post though, otherwise two people might not even be threading in the same country. One last thing! Remember that your character was born in this universe, so whatever else you decide, your character is a world native, even if they might be a tourist in the village you decided to test them out on. And that's it. Just be good to each other and have fun! Threads you do here can count toward future activity checks, so long as the person you're threading with gets in too. [For all his dramatics - for which she'd likely blame the boy's godfather - her grin slowly reappears as she lets the log drop to the floor. His hug makes it grow brighter and her arms wrap around him. She really had missed him.]

That's more like it. Thank you, Naruto.

[She gives him a gentle squeeze before pulling back to hold him by his shoulders... And to steal a quick kiss to his forehead.]

So, what've you been up to since I've been gone?

[ His Mom smells just as he remembers; the smell that has soothed his worries for years, the scent he'd happily bury his nose in when things got a little too tough. It serves it's purpose now, comforting and grounding him and he basks in it for the little moment he's close to it. He can't even bring himself to sweep away the strands of her hair tickling at his face. He didn't realise how much he'd missed her till she was back; but then it was always like this, even when his parents were only away for a day. ]

Ah, the usual, y'know.. Lookin' after Dad. [ He gives her a look. ]

[She knows that look and it makes her laugh as a broader grin stays on her face.]

I hope you've been doing a good job of it then. I know how he gets when he focuses too much on one thing. You made sure he ate regularly and kept him out of trouble, right? Unless something else came up?

[Even if the grin stays, a hint of a tease is present, since she is teasing. Sort of. She did recall times where he'd get so distracted by his work during his tenure of Hokage that she began bringing him food to make sure he ate something. And now it was a level of distraction she could understand completely, having been in his shoes for a few years for Uzushio's benefit.]

Yeah, yeah. I took him lunch. [ Kind of an irritating errand but he cares for his Dad, and knows that his Mom puts his father's well being in his hands when she's away, so.. what choice did he have, really?

He turns then, setting to preparing his own lunch now that the hot water has boiled. All this talk of food is making him hungry. He peels the lids back on both the noodle pots. ]

Sat with him for a little too. Until I got bored.

I'm sure he was grateful for that.

[And if she knew her husband, he had been the one paying.

She lets Naruto go, maybe a bit reluctantly, but if he's finishing their lunch she can use the time to sort some of her stuff out. And maybe fish out the little souvenir she brought back for him: a smooth, pale-colored snail shell, small enough to fit in the palm of her hand. The spiral didn't protrude out, instead it was rounded where it nearly made a flat surface. Maybe it was more of a simple gift, but she'd found it her first day on Jiro Island and found herself thinking he might like it. So as she digs it out from where it had been carefully wrapped, she listens to what her son has to say.

And decides to tease him.]

So... Does that mean you left him on his own for a few weeks after you got bored?

Nah! Well.. Not weeks. A couple days maybe... [ His father is a capable man, but having Naruto around always seems to make him nostalgic about his family and often ends up with Naruto wishing the ground would swallow him from embarrassment... and when that isn't the case, his father is often waylaid by particularly boring tasks, and the novelty of being involved had quickly worn off with Naruto.

He scratches awkwardly at the back of his head as he pours water into the cups. ]

He's fine! Just kinda sulky. He misses you. [ Blech. ]

[She puts on a mock stern expression at the mention of the older blonde being cruelly abandoned for a few days at a time, but maybe such was the temperament of a bored teenager. Even at this point in her life, she was still finding new things to learn about life as a parent.

The look softens automatically, making it pretty damn obvious she was missing him too. But they're a family of ninja, and missions are a part of the job. So they deal and keep moving forward, well aware of the risks they take for Konoha and its people. And for her side of things, the new Uzushio and the people there too. However, that didn't mean they couldn't - and wouldn't - miss each other like crazy when they were apart. Whether it was for a few days or a few weeks or more or less time.]

I know. And I missed you both, so so much, y'know.

[Hopefully Naruto's ready for another hug, because she sets the shell she'd found on the table and darts over to her son to wrap him up in a bear hug from behind. It really had been too long spent apart from her boys.]

[ He misses his parents whenever he's away on missions for even a day, so his sulking is mostly for the sake of façade, and he's almost certain she knows as much. His father has the surprising capability of being very embarrassing - often by accident - and Naruto can only let himself to endure so much before he needs space. His father fussing at him in the middle of incredibly public places does nothing for his reputation. Come on, Minato. He's a teen now.

The hug doesn't surprise him, but he looks up from his noodle making to settle back into the contact of his mother against his back. Ah... that's way better. ]

C'mon, Mom... [ His words are quiet, soft, and he lets out a gentle chuckle. ] You're embarrassin' me... [ He shifts his shoulder a little in the vague attempt of shrugging her off, but there's no real intent or effort behind it. ]

can't remember the last time I got to do something like this...

[She takes his lack of fight as a sign to tighten her hold a little, refusing to let him go just yet. And it's because of his lack of effort that she doesn't raise her voice or fist to him.

Yet.] Don't be stupid, y'know. What's to be embarrassed about when there's no one but us here? [Perfectly reasonable logic to justify why she doesn't want to let go of her precious baby boy just yet.]
