Activity Check!
How it Works
Activity Check is a post that goes up during the first week of every month, and remains valid until the last day of the month it was posted. After that, it's checked over, and anyone who has not posted to it will be contacted by a mod. The only exceptions to this are people who started hiatus either on, or before the day the post went up, and did not return until the month following the post in question.
You post activity using the form in here as a top comment:
After that, you just add links to that top comment as you complete them throughout the month. If you were on hiatus for two weeks or more, put Hiatus under the information in the box, and if you have a new or downgraded character, just put a note next to the character in question so we know not to expect more Activity than actually required.
Anyone with a Hiatus long enough to claim it this way is on half activity, as is any character that is new to the game this month! Half Activity is either the post, or the comments (which in this case would be ten), for the month.
Anyone who doesn't meet Activity, and who is not on Hiatus, will get an In Character penalty that is designed to help you meet your next Activity Check. It works as follows:
The character that failed activity will be required to post a starter for a thread involving some sort of mission with another character within the game. The mods are more than happy to arrange this for you, be it your character as a civilian requesting it, or your village leader sending you on assignment with someone new. Possibly, in the instance of characters that don't properly fall into either category, we will arrange a mission for your character to gatecrash. If you have arranged this yourself, simply let the mods know and we will count it.
A second miss in a row will lead to a discussion on how the problem can be remedied, and any further action will be decided then.
Please note that the missed Activity penalties only apply if you actually communicate with the mods. If we cannot reach you, we will give you a grace period of a week from the point we tried, but will ultimately remove the character from the game.
What is Acceptable Activity?
Activity will consist of one (1) current post, and ten (10) comments from your character in no more than two threads OR fifteen (15) comments from your character in no more than three threads. If the multiple thread option us used, each thread has no length requirement, but you may not go over the amount of threads (either two or three depending if you have a post). Always link from the first valid comment in a thread for the month. There is an exception to this!
A post with ten/fifteen current month comments from you total, but in multiple threads that exceed the allowed number for individual linking, may be used as your comments for the month. Please note that the post in question does not have to be yours, nor does it have to be a current month post, but it will have to have all of your activity comments if this method is chosen.
Please note that all threads/posts used for activity must have your character listed in the community character tags of the post to be valid. This is not required if they originate on the OOC com or a character's private journal. The month on the submitted comments and posts must also always match the month of the Activity Check Post they're being submitted in to be current.
Posts
Posts must be on either the Missive or Main community.
Posts can be logs, voice, missives, (or a combined post of these) so long as they are for the current activity month.
Posts may be logs moved over during the current month from another platform so long as they have the appropriate header and follow the body format of "Character journal: the post" or are in some other way visibly indicated in alternating fashion so that they may be counted. Please put any such logs under a cut.
Posts may be shared between two character so long as the content is approximately half and half.
Posts may be written out interactions between two characters (if both players agree), or mission reports posted on the current month as well.
Threads
Threads may be on the post being used for AC.
Threads may be comments from a migrated log so long as the post was made in the current month.
Threads may be on posts from previous months so long as the comments are from the current month.
Threads may be on a test drive post so long as both characters are currently in game and the comments are for the current month.
Threads may be on an activity meme post so long as the comments are for the current month.
Threads may be in inbox/contact posts so long as the comments are from the current month.
Threads may be done against the NPC account so long as the comments are from the current month. (We request the NPC be manned by another player if you use this option.)
