THE ACADEMY AGE MEME

"No, you can't eat yourself if you henge into a bowl of ramen, go sit back down"
Ah yes, another long-awaited Sunshineverse meme!
As the name suggests, this meme is fairly straightforward: bring out the cute academy aged icons, because we'll be playing everyone as their young, academy aged selves! This time it's pretty straightforward, but here's a step by step anyway.
Step one: Post a top level comment with your character's name and affiliation at the time of their academy training. You should probably include their age--again, at the time they'd be in the academy--along with it. If, for whatever reason, your character didn't go to a ninja academy, probably just post them as a child around the time other kids would have been in the academy
Step two: Given the nature of this meme, you may want to include a scenario or two for people to tag into, but otherwise, it's a good idea to include relevant information people will need if they tag your character. If during their childhood they refused to leave trees, preferred to henge into a puddle to make people slip on them, or killed people indiscriminately, these are good things for people to know.
Step three: Tag to others, and relive your
NOTE: Ages in this meme are synched up. That means school-kid Karin won't be able to kick it with school-kid Kushina. But! A school-kid Karin could end up interacting with a somewhat younger than current canon Kushina!
BONUS NOTES!
1: Although it isn't required to, all tags and threads in this meme can absolutely count toward actual in-game history for the characters involved!
2: Threads that count for history also count for activity! Just like the test drive meme, if the threads count for history, they also count for activity
3: Don't forget the NPC journal! This is a great opportunity to interact with dead/distanced/etc characters that would still be around or would be prominently involved with the history of your characters, and that's what this NPC journal is there for! Use it!
4: Most important - Have fun, you cute little ninja terrors
Uchiha Itachi [Age 6-7 | Konohagakure ]
By six months in the Academy, the students learned to leave him alone. He didn't seem all too talkative, and his subjects of conversation left the majority of the other students confused, and some of them, upset. So he learned to keep to himself, somewhat having expected this. He liked his own explanation for it better than Fugaku's, though. It wasn't that he was far above them and better....it was that he was different.
He won every single one of his spars, and was now commonly exempt from them. So he found himself a nice spot in the back of the courtyard, with a thick book settled snugly in his lap. Distancing himself from the cries of the children testing out their fighting skills, he immersed himself in reading. He didn't expect company, but wasn't entirely against it.
[Mika's 5-6 here! :3 pre-academy]
As bright and curious eyes scanned the yard Mika ran right into the area, she wanted to be in the crowd even if she didn't belong. Hopefully none of the teachers would mind. Mika could say she had come to get her brother Masaru. No one seemed to take heed of her though a number of children glanced and giggled among themselves at the "big-haired" child going by.
The yard wasn't too big and Mika found herself in the quieter area rather suddenly. She was about to turn back when something caught her eye. What looked to be a girl, a very pretty girl, was sitting away from everyone else. Mika didn't realize she was staring and maybe she was feeling a little flustered. She didn't dwell on the feeling. It didn't stop her from walking right over, intent on at least getting a better look. Maybe the girl was shy? Mika had never known why people were like that, always having been fighting for attention since she could walk.
"Ne...." She'd sidled up to Itachi with a big smile on. "Why are you by yourself?" Everyone else looked like they were having fun!
Re: [Mika's 5-6 here! :3 pre-academy]
So he heard the footsteps, and chose to glance up, just in time to see the girl sidling up close. Perhaps too close.
"I'm reading." he responds, simply, even though that should've been obvious enough, with the large book in his lap. But he'll give her the benefit of the doubt. His social skills were the ones needing tuning, and he's unaware certain sentences are used to get different answers. One day he'll learn, perhaps.
[[Mika no.]]
"What are you reading?" The natural follow-up. Itachi would soon have a fluffy clinger if Mika has her way. She talks and talks... god help this boy. Mika decided now was also a good time to make herself comfortable and sit down. So don't worry, Mika's got some social skills honing to do as well.
Re:
She seems to be sitting a little too close to his taste, but he says nothing for now, instead turning his attention back onto his book. He sits at the section detailing the Forest of Death, and the various large predator animals that reside in it.

Mika scooted forward a bit to grab a twig with some leaves still on it. Then she scooted back to look at the book again, maybe it'd become more entertaining over the last five seconds... No, still boring. Normally the girl would have just run off to play but something about Itachi was oddly relaxing. Maybe it was the way her chest felt looking at the other child that kept her there. So Mika quietly sat close by and started shredding the leaves with her grubby fingers.

A few mistakenly assumed it as arrogance.
"Why do you tear the leaves?" he asks, however, a few moments later, brow scrunched in curiosity, palms on the pages of his book.
no subject
Mika giggled at the question and held the twig closer to her companion. It seemed silly that Itachi didn't get why Mika was doing this. "I like the sound... and how it feels when I touch different leaves. I take dry ones and rub them in my hands because they're crunchy." Mika also greatly enjoyed puddles and digging in dirt. Imagine her mother's annoyance at having to wash the girl's mucky clothes every day.
