Okay everyone, it's time to test some people out! The rules of the game are simple. You have a character you would like to try out as a native to the setting of this game. You want to see if this is the right setting to play said character in, right?

Well, then all you have to do is drop them into this post as a top level comment with this as the header:
Character name | Series (OC's just put Original here) | Planned Village Affiliation

Then you comment around and play with everyone else!

If you need some ideas on how to get started, you can drop your character in during the middle of a mission, have them at an eatery around their village, or maybe even just doing weapons practice. It's up to you how you want to set out, so feel free to put your characters in this version of the Naruto universe however it most seems appropriate. Just be sure to say where you put them somewhere in your post though, otherwise two people might not even be threading in the same country.

One last thing! Remember that your character was born in this universe, so whatever else you decide, your character is a world native, even if they might be a tourist in the village you decided to test them out on.

And that's it. Just be good to each other and have fun! Threads you do here can count toward future activity checks, so long as the person you're threading with gets in too. These threads can also be used for samples on your application.

On the road, undisclosed location

[It's been a while since he's been on such an easy mission. He'd already met up with the clients and delivered the scroll, so he was just in civilian garb and taking his time on the way home - knowing that he has the time to spare. Even walking in the rain with a parasol and his clothes and pack, he can't help enjoying the cool mist coming from the summer shower around him. It's a nice break from teaching, though at the same time he can't wait to go back.

That's when he notices someone on the road ahead, putting on his best smile as he waves. No matter who's ahead of him, it's better to get their attention from a distance instead of unintentionally sneaking up.]

Hey, traveler! You're walking out in the rain too?

Chuunin Exams

[Another year, another few genin that had graduated from his academy classes going on to try and test as Chuunin - like him. It's with fear and pride that he watches the gates of the village coming closer, having been part of the escort for the teams attending the exams.

He knows that the kids aren't that much younger than him, and that he's pretty advanced to already be teaching in the academy. He hasn't been at it long, but he couldn't help feeling responsible for them even after they've left his care. The village they're testing in seems to have a nice enough population, but as much as he doesn't want to think about it... He knows they're in enemy territory.

There's no reason for them to attack though, right?]

Oops! Sorry about that! [He'd been lost in his own thoughts for so long that, after walking around in the village's walls for a bit, he accidentally bumped into someone. It jostled him a little, but did he knock the other person over? He doesn't know. So he frets a little, looking over the person he just walked into.] Are you okay?

[Seeing the wave, the tiny figure huddled under the umbrella some distance before Gohan seems to give a pause before offering a much slower and more awkward wave of her own. Once she's close enough, Ava peers out from beneath her meager protection looking a bit pale. If not for the Kiri forehead protector dangling from about her neck, it'd be hard to pin her from a village with such a reputation considering her appearance.]

Mmm. I'd rather not. You... don't seem to mind it, though.

A little rain never hurts, not if you're careful.

[Hm... The girl doesn't seem to be doing well in the rain though - not from what he can tell. Still, she's a kiri nin... He knows enough not to just offer help, not if he doesn't want to find a knife in his throat. He has to be careful around her.]

Where are you heading?

The Land of Fang... There's just something I need to pick up.

[Which was more or less true, after all. Just... nothing no one else needed to worry about as far as she was concerned.]

What about you?

I'm just on my way home from a long trip. I'm looking forward to seeing my friends and family again, really.

[He nods, knowing that what he's been saying is also nothing but true. Granted, he's hiding that he's just been on a mission as a shinobi, but the girl doesn't need to know that.

She really doesn't look well to him though... He wouldn't feel right just leaving her alone. Maybe he could at least keep her company for a while.]

If you're headed north, maybe we could walk together for a little bit? Before we have to split paths, at least.

Why?

[It's not that she doesn't trust him.... It's just that she DEFINITELY doesn't trust him. Everyone is an enemy when you're from Kirigakure, after all, and you never know who has ulterior motives out on the roads.]

[For the first part of the Chuunin exams, Kushina had decided to coincide her usual trip to Konoha with them. Sure she'd be passing the results of the lone Uzushio Genin team back to the council, but that didn't mean she wouldn't have time in between the exams to visit with her family.

As she wasn't the jounin sensei to her niece's team, there wasn't a reason to be overseeing their training. That would come later. So while Karin's team trained, she went to track down her suiton student. But life had other plans for her when she rounded a corner right into someone. The impact tipped her over onto her ass. Maybe she shouldn't have been walking fast.

Oh well, too late for that. She gets back on her feet and brushes herself off. Ah, that's right. She hadn't changed out of her usual outfit that she wore in Uzushio when she had left. And she even had a hitai-ate marking her from that village. Oops. This should be interesting.]

Yeah, I'm fine.

[She gives the boy-- no, the young man a look over. She doesn't recognize him, but the flak jacket and hitai-ate are familiar. Familiar enough that a strange look flickers across her face.]

Kumo, huh?

Y-Yeah, I'm from Kumo. Is there a problem with that? [He scratches at his cheek, smiling a little nervously at the declaration. Surely she must have known that the chuunin exams were going on, right...? He'd show her his papers if he had to, especially since he doesn't want to start a fight and set a poor example for the genin coming there.]

I'm overseeing some of the students with their instructors.

[A momentary hesitation, then a shake of her head. This boy couldn't know what had been done decades ago. He was too young and if Kumo hadn't tried to snatch her again in the last 30 or so years, why would they make a fresh attempt now? Answer: they wouldn't. The current Raikage was no fool.]

No, there's no problem. You wouldn't be here if you didn't have business of some kind. And if you're overseeing students, you're here for the Chuunin exams too. [She cocks her head to one side, giving him a second appraisal.] What's your name?

Ah - it's Gohan, and yours ma'am? [He's trying to be polite as he can, bowing slightly with the introduction. Phew, it doesn't seem like he's made her too mad or struck her as off. It's better to keep it that way, since he's a guest in this village.]

Uzumaki Kushina. [No need to bog him down with titles, that's boring stuff. If he's heard anything about Uzushio, he'll have heard of her. If he hasn't, whatever. One less person tripping over themselves refusing to give her any other honorific than "-sama".]

If no one's told you yet, welcome to Konoha.

[She had been going one way, Gohan had been going another. When they're not in Konoha, she has to be on her best behavior and not answer everything with violence first. Still, she had the right way and was mixed with a group; how could this collision not be deliberate?]

[Maria could go off right now, but he's already apologized and it doesn't feel like he's trying to deceive her. History between Konoha and Kumo would be enough for her, but she's going to be well-behaved if it kills her... or him. Whichever snaps first; hopefully it was his spine second - not in her medical training. She had to focus.]

Yeah, yeah, I'm fine. [For the sake of the exams, she's actually bothered to wear her Medical-Nin coat. It's unzipped for multiple reasons, but mostly due to 'assets'. He would be able to see her Konoha headband around her waist though.] Shouldn't you be paying attention to your surroundings?
