Test Drive Post!
Sunshineverse | ||||||||
Okay everyone, it's time to test some people out! The rules of the game are simple. You have a character you would like to try out as a native to the setting of this game. You want to see if this is the right setting to play said character in, right? Well, then all you have to do is drop them into this post as a top level comment with this as the header: Character name | Series (OC's just put Original here) | Planned Village Affiliation Then you comment around and play with everyone else! If you need some ideas on how to get started, you can drop your character in during the middle of a mission, have them at an eatery around their village, or maybe even just doing weapons practice. It's up to you how you want to set out, so feel free to put your characters in this version of the Naruto universe however it most seems appropriate. Just be sure to say where you put them somewhere in your post though, otherwise two people might not even be threading in the same country. One last thing! Remember that your character was born in this universe, so whatever else you decide, your character is a world native, even if they might be a tourist in the village you decided to test them out on. And that's it. Just be good to each other and have fun! Threads you do here can count toward future activity checks, so long as the person you're threading with gets in too. These threads can also be used for samples on your application.

It would be stupid to assume that everything was the same though. Until last year, everyone had thought she was dead - including him. And she hadn't discovered the true circumstances behind her and her uncle's escape from Kirigakure until then. The memories were still fresh, of the chuunin exams and the events that had resulted in her parents' plan.
"It's been a long time."

"How is it then?"
no subject
Her stomach flipped at the thought. He'd do it if he wanted, no question - only the Hokage could possibly stand a chance against him, if what she remembered about Sephiroth was right. He could probably kill her on the spot if he wanted - though the fact that she wasn't dead already gave her tentative hope. Did he still care, at least a little? But, she cared too... Which only made this meeting harder on her.

"Of course. Do you remember your goal Adela?"
no subject
"... To be your equal, I haven't forgotten," She responded, quiet as she looked on and tried to figure out just what he was trying to do, "Why're you asking?"
no subject
"Because I want to know how close you are to being able to survive a fight with me Adela."
no subject
But why did Sephiroth have to find her? Was this chance, or was he planning it? It was impossible to tell with him. Was he the same cousin she looked up to as a child, or had she really not known him at all? Was he there to take her back, to execute her, or simply to test her? Again, she simply couldn't figure it out.

"To what end? You left, then you stagnated. I suspect if you practice it's nowhere near enough." His tone was cold, the bored drawl he used when he found something beneath his notice.
He would see if it worked like it always had with her, if she remembered.
no subject
"Who the hell said I was stagnating? I've been training every damn day, even if it wasn't the same training you went through."
But, even with her words, she knew what he was trying to get at - that no matter how she tried, she would never be good enough. As much as she didn't want it to... That burnt her worse than any accusation of betrayal could.

He'd never had reason to do it to her before, but he knew she'd recognize it. "In other words, no one who would have you grow. A shame. You had potential, once."
no subject
I have to turn the conversation away from me. The thought went through her mind as she visibly shook, unable to completely separate herself from the emotion of wanting to be accepted by her cousin when she asked, "What do you want, Sephiroth. What are you doing here?"
no subject
The way he said it expressed just how profoundly let down he was by the encounter.

She wasn't good enough.
She wasn't good enough.
Like poison the toxic thoughts spread, stressing her beyond measure as she tried desperately to hold onto what little self control she had left.

The words were silken, harsh, and by no means intended to be kind. They were meant to cut, to show how much she'd displeased him, and he was fairly sure she got the message. All the better, that.

Adela twitched, closing her eyes briefly before reopening them and immediately standing tall, her right hand gripping tight at her katana as she looked at him. It wasn't a happy look in the least; she knew then that he didn't care. He didn't intend to have anything to do with her, no. He saw her as nothing. And that... She was determined to prove that it was a mistake on his part.
"You're trespassing and you need to leave. Otherwise I'll have no choice but to dispatch you, Sephiroth."
It was a warning, saying that she wouldn't back down - that she was trying to cut her ties then. She couldn't let whatever feelings of attachment she had hold her back anymore. She couldn't let him effect her anymore... She wasn't even sure if she could do it, but she'd try.
no subject
"But I'll go. No need to cause an incident over you."
no subject
Without thought she took a step towards him, stopping as soon as she realized what she was about to do. At that moment, Adela was torn between two things, neither of which was a good thing; the first was to throw something at him and yell at him for brushing her off... The other was to simply follow him home, as she had when she was a child.
A grimace pulled at her lips and she withdrew, cursing herself inwardly for her choice. That was before she shunshined away, back towards the village. She'd have to talk to Obito about it, about who she met, but... She'd have to make it a report as a border patrol would. She couldn't let on just what happened, or that it had shaken her so. She could fight through it, because who in the hell would understand?
No. She'd work through it alone.
