Okay everyone, it's time to test some people out! The rules of the game are simple. You have a character you would like to try out as a native to the setting of this game. You want to see if this is the right setting to play said character in, right?

Well, then all you have to do is drop them into this post as a top level comment with this as the header:
Character name | Series (OC's just put Original here) | Planned Village Affiliation

Then you comment around and play with everyone else!

If you need some ideas on how to get started, you can drop your character in during the middle of a mission, have them at an eatery around their village, or maybe even just doing weapons practice. It's up to you how you want to set out, so feel free to put your characters in this version of the Naruto universe however it most seems appropriate. Just be sure to say where you put them somewhere in your post though, otherwise two people might not even be threading in the same country.

One last thing! Remember that your character was born in this universe, so whatever else you decide, your character is a world native, even if they might be a tourist in the village you decided to test them out on.

And that's it. Just be good to each other and have fun! Threads you do here can count toward future activity checks, so long as the person you're threading with gets in too. These threads can also be used for samples on your application.

It might have worked if Sephiroth wasn't paranoid about the seals being ambush points. He always kept his senses open when he came through. He didn't dare do otherwise, not after he'd been caught once too often by a seal that had been inadequately guarded. This one had its guards, but they weren't the only ones around, and he started int he direction of the small flare he'd felt.

It was familiar, and there should be no one familiar out here. "This duty is turning up all kinds of surprises. Come out. There's really no reason to hide when I know you're there."

"Very true," remarked Abel, reluctantly dropping to the ground far enough away to discourage any attack. "You're looking well."

He wanted to have plenty of lead should Sephiroth attack him to take him back to Kiri. Abel wouldn't attack first, not wanting to cause an incident between Ame and Kiri, but there was no telling what the other would do.

"As are you. Astonishing, that." He narrowed his eyes, looking him over carefully. They'd run missions together, once, but that was a long time ago, before this man had fled their home country and taken his dwindling bloodline with him.

"You almost look happy."

Is it a crime to be happy?" Abel mused, rocking back on his heels before tilting his head. "Wait, I forgot. Happiness is for someone not like me, someone not expected to live under a double standard and hated for something that I couldn't control."

He snorted and flicked his fingers, dismissing that idea.

He laughed. It was cold and cutting, even sharper and more hollow than it had been ten years before. Clearly Abel's departure had done him no favors.

"You made your own misery, so don't turn it back on me Nightroad. Why wouldn't I be shocked when you were a depressed little thing?"

If the cold laughter affected Abel, he didn't let it show. Instead, he smiled, serenely and offered a slight bow to Sephiroth.

"I am afraid there is no 'Nightroad' here. Only Abel," he said before straightening. "Perhaps I made my own misery in your eyes, yet I found a way out of that misery and how to be happy."

He hummed and tilted his head as he looked at Sephiroth. "Have you found out how to be happy?"

He lifted his chin, meeting his eyes and pointedly ignoring the correction. "If I have or haven't, it's no concern of yours Nightroad. We both are what we are, after all."

"Pawns on the chessboard," Abel agreed with a nod, remembering a discussion he had with an interesting shinobi from Konoha. "But are pawns not allowed to find happiness?"

He shrugged and spread his hands. "Yet, here am I, prattling on and obviously interrupting whatever duty brought you here."

"Still a pawn Nightroad? Perhaps you should work on that." He gave him a once over and then shook his head. "Go. I suspect this will not be the last we see of one another."

"We are all pawns in one way or another," Abel mused before nodding. "I am sure we will cross paths again."

With a small bow, he vanished in a puff of smoke.
