Test Drive Post!

Sunshineverse
Okay everyone, it's time to test some people out! The rules of the game are simple. You have a character you would like to try out as a native to the setting of this game. You want to see if this is the right setting to play said character in, right?

Well, then all you have to do is drop them into this post as a top level comment with this as the header:
Character name | Series (OC's just put Original here) | Planned Village Affiliation

Then you comment around and play with everyone else!

If you need some ideas on how to get started, you can drop your character in during the middle of a mission, have them at an eatery around their village, or maybe even just doing weapons practice. It's up to you how you want to set out, so feel free to put your characters in this version of the Naruto universe however it most seems appropriate. Just be sure to say where you put them somewhere in your post though, otherwise two people might not even be threading in the same country.

One last thing! Remember that your character was born in this universe, so whatever else you decide, your character is a world native, even if they might be a tourist in the village you decided to test them out on.

And that's it. Just be good to each other and have fun! Threads you do here can count toward future activity checks, so long as the person you're threading with gets in too. These threads can also be used for samples on your application.

Bad news was not something Kazue liked to report. To be fair, no one in their right mind enjoyed reporting bad news unless, of course, it was bad news for someone else or that otherwise benefited the reporter in some way, shape, or form that outweighed the negatives. The red-haired kunoichi found it especially distasteful if the news she had to report was of the bad sort and it carried any sort of connotation relative to failure whilst applying to her in any way that was not positive. Fail was not something she did. It was not a word associated with her person, so to be grouped and associated with something so disgraceful as this operation more than rubbed her wrong for the simple fact that it was, on an unconscionable level, a partial failure and not an absolute success when it very well could have been.

That's right. Could have been. It could have been an absolute success if the jounin leading the operation hadn't been a complete disgrace. His knowledge of the shinobi he had been directing had been pathetically miniscule at best and his evolving plans flawed in so many ways that it made her wonder how in the world the man had achieved his rank and who had seen fit to assign him to such a large scale and furthermore delicate operation to begin with. The formula for success was basic. Select the right tools. Know them. Use them properly. Select the wrong tools for the job and the results could be disastrous. They could chip. They could break. They could be damaged beyond repair. They could be lost. The last three were especially unacceptable given Suna's small shinobi population and here they had lost not one, not two, but four capable chuunin for poor direction and leadership, the directing instrument having been the source of the trouble. It was unconscionable and, when the foolish would-be leader awoke at the hospital, she would make it a point to be present to voice the same criticisms she would provide in her written report she had already thought to submit.

That would come later. At that moment, her priority was to deliver the report concerning the operation to the appropriate official with the utmost speed in the absence of the operation leader. Well, not absence. She had seized the reins swiftly in the ensuing chaos following the original leader's incapacitation and directed the shinobi involved to see the mission salvaged to the best of their ability, which made her the stand-in operation leader. That said official was the kazekage himself might have been more daunting if she had not been irritated for much of what had just transpired. Still, she breathed. Commanded her composure and slowed, ignoring the sweat at her brow and the dull aches from the bruises she'd sustained when the first traps had been triggered. The tanuki puppet poised atop her shoulder was still, almost as though brooding over what passed.

"Kazekage-sama," she offered in greeting, taking to one knee once she achieved the appropriate distance. "My name is Kazue and I've come in the absence of Haruka-san, who is presently incapacitated for his ineptitude, to deliver the report regarding the operation."

A fifteen-year old chuunin kneeling in place of a twenty-five year old jounin. Kazue saw nothing wrong with that. The operation may not have been hers to start, but it was hers now and she would do nothing less than her duty as its leader despite how distasteful the report she had to make.
