Okay everyone, it's time to test some people out! The rules of the game are simple. You have a character you would like to try out as a native to the setting of this game. You want to see if this is the right setting to play said character in, right? Well, then all you have to do is drop them into this post as a top level comment with this as the header: Character name | Series (OC's just put Original here) | Planned Village Affiliation Then you comment around and play with everyone else! If you need some ideas on how to get started, you can drop your character in during the middle of a mission, have them at an eatery around their village, or maybe even just doing weapons practice. It's up to you how you want to set out, so feel free to put your characters in this version of the Naruto universe however it most seems appropriate. Just be sure to say where you put them somewhere in your post though, otherwise two people might not even be threading in the same country. One last thing! Remember that your character was born in this universe, so whatever else you decide, your character is a world native, even if they might be a tourist in the village you decided to test them out on. And that's it. Just be good to each other and have fun! Threads you do here can count toward future activity checks, so long as the person you're threading with gets in too. These threads can also be used for samples on your application. If asked, Sasuke would have labelled his sometimes-master's absence from the village something considerably less mild than a tendency to wander. It was probably for the best that Sasuke wasn't asked; in any case, he was hardly in the mood for company. Two weeks in the company of squalling rich brats whose parents had the kind of money needed for a ninja escort could sap the will to live out of even the strongest shinobi, he was sure of it.

It didn't mean that he didn't do a double-take when he spotted what looked like a familiar head of blonde hair at one of the teahouses just outside the village gates. Could it be -- ?

"Shishou?" He came to a stop by her table, surprise stuck in his expression.

He was taller. The kid seemed taller every time she saw him. Tsunade tilted her head back, eyes looking over his harried appearance. “Brat child, did you come to annoy me before I even got in the gate?” She said, as good humoredly as she was able. “I trust you’re still honing your skill. I’d hate for my training to go to waste.”

Her hand lifted to wave to the shop owner, finger held aloft for another cup. “Sit, drink your tea, and tell me the latest gossip. I’m still debating if it’s worth my time to go in.”

Brat child ... that was as good a sign as any that Tsunade wasn't in the worst mood she could be in, considering she was this close to being back in the village with all its attendant responsibilities. Sasuke let his mouth quirk into a lopsided grin on cue, settling into the chair across from her and accepting the tea from the shop owner with an absent thanks.

"Gossip? You mean you haven't seen the entire paper devoted to gossip yet?"

“The only thing I’ve seen lately is the path under my feet and now your face.”

Knees crossed as her attention went once again to the looming gate in the distance. It was almost humorous how a structure could hold so much more meaning than the simple wood and nails that made it up. It offered both a refuge and a reminder to her. “Have you kept up with your training?”

"That's for the best," Sasuke decided after a moment of consideration. He really didn't want to get into explaining how very untrue the tangled web of teenage relationships woven by that tabloid was -- he'd had a time enough of it trying to look Mikoto in the (more amused than he'd expected) eye and begging her not to let Fugaku run across one.

"I've been working with the hospital staff whenever I'm in the village," he said. "Working on lightning jutsu as well."

And then, with the hint of formal awkwardness that always lingered at first around his teacher: "If you're free during this visit, I'd like to show you how I've improved."
