Okay everyone, it's time to test some people out! The rules of the game are simple. You have a character you would like to try out as a native to the setting of this game. You want to see if this is the right setting to play said character in, right? Well, then all you have to do is drop them into this post as a top level comment with this as the header: Character name | Series (OC's just put Original here) | Planned Village Affiliation Then you comment around and play with everyone else! If you need some ideas on how to get started, you can drop your character in during the middle of a mission, have them at an eatery around their village, or maybe even just doing weapons practice. It's up to you how you want to set out, so feel free to put your characters in this version of the Naruto universe however it most seems appropriate. Just be sure to say where you put them somewhere in your post though, otherwise two people might not even be threading in the same country. One last thing! Remember that your character was born in this universe, so whatever else you decide, your character is a world native, even if they might be a tourist in the village you decided to test them out on. And that's it. Just be good to each other and have fun! Threads you do here can count toward future activity checks, so long as the person you're threading with gets in too. These threads can also be used for samples on your application. He was about to answer that he probably should jet it back, but...
"The contents? Shinobi aren't supposed to open documents." so no, he was not aware at all. Had there been some mix-up..?

"I'm certain you'll be delighted to enlighten me, Hokage-sama." he gave a faint bow.

"Usually a shinobi is told when they'll be taking an... extended stay in another village you see." He flipped the document around to show him. "You're to remain here until the Lightning nobility are done with trade negotiations in the court of the Fire Daimyo. That's a few weeks."

He very nearly groaned. "Usually. Maybe someone forgot to tell me about this." he rolled his eyes. "I suppose there isn't much I can do for now." he scratched at the nape of his neck. He would not only have to remain here, but also escort said nobility back safely...?

How odd. Either this was part of his mission, or they had screwed up. Maybe they only knew how good he was. Yes, that must be it. "It looks like I'll be under your orders while on your land then."

He touched a storage seal and released it, getting a stack of papers, as well as a scroll which after a cursory glance was offered to him. "I believe these are your orders."

A light nod and he claimed the document to peruse it.
"Here is the explanation, as well." It seemed they did believe he was fully up to three task. "I'll still need to stay here a few weeks, although the negotiations could end at any moment from now until then." he would need to take off whenever the news arrived. This did explain a lot.

"I will station myself at the inn, then." and he would most likely have at least one of their ANBU watching him. Not that he minded.

He watched him for a moment, then hummed. "And your reason for not having taken the seal transport to arrive more quickly?"

"I... have none actually." he revealed, somewhat sheepish. "All I was offered was a seal to the nearest border."

He sighed deeply and just gave him a long stare. "In other words, someone played a prank on you."

"A prank?" his face scrunched up. "I know what pranks are, but doesn't this have the official seal? It's a real mission too.... ...right?" now he highly doubted the seal would even take him back once he got to him. "When I find out who did that, I'm going to blow them through the mountain!" he hissed, teeth gritted.

Oh, wait, he was supposed to try and control himself. This was the Hokage...
"Is anything in there real or it was all some stupidly elaborate prank?" his first mission as Jounin could be such a failure... Worse still was if someone switched the scrolls.

"I suspect the only prank was the one committed by your travel nin." He handed over the appropriate paperwork and kept the rest. "You're free to leave, an escort will meet you downstairs."

Temper, temper... He knew ho that was, and knew just why they could have done it. Here he thought it wasn't any big deal to be at the border... Travelling time was a factor that could have made this a failure. Not a failure today thankfully, but he certainly made a very bad first impression, not only of himself but their village in general.
...he'd always had the most childish of teammates and constantly needed to cover for him. Either it was his inane stupidity that had him pull this prank, or it was only his own fault for being so gullible.

"Sorry for taking up more of your time than I should have." he bowed before making his way downstairs, grateful that his mission had no been jeopardized thanks to his tardiness.
