Test Drive
Sunshineverse | ||||||||
Okay everyone, it's time to test some people out! The rules of the game are simple. You have a character you would like to try out as a native to the setting of this game. You want to see if this is the right setting to play said character in, right? Well, then all you have to do is drop them into this post as a top level comment with this as the header: Character name | Series (OC's just put Original here) | Planned Village Affiliation Then you comment around and play with everyone else! If you need some ideas on how to get started, you can drop your character in during the middle of a mission, have them at an eatery around their village, or maybe even just doing weapons practice. It's up to you how you want to set out, so feel free to put your characters in this version of the Naruto universe however it most seems appropriate. Just be sure to say where you put them somewhere in your post though, otherwise two people might not even be threading in the same country. One last thing! Remember that your character was born in this universe, so whatever else you decide, your character is a world native, even if they might be a tourist in the village you decided to test them out on. And that's it. Just be good to each other and have fun! Threads you do here can count toward future activity checks, so long as the person you're threading with gets in too. These threads can also be used for samples on your application.

Kaguya Kimimaro | Naruto | Kiri
When released for a short break, Kimimaro bypassed the hustle of the local businesses along with the bustle of the crowded streets in favor of something with a lot more solidarity. Just along the outskirts of the forest that borderlined the village, the man set up shop in a leafy area that held various kinds of flower life. The scents seemed to seemingly blend in with one another, forming an ever present fragrance that didn’t threaten to induce headaches. To think various species of these types of flowers could grow so freely without the aid of a greenhouse or gardener was something that warranted curiosity.
Hovering above a small patch of fully bloomed Calla, the man’s usual hardened expression softened slightly as he stared curiously down at its white petals. Reaching forward, the Kiri nin placed a gentle hand against the pearl colored flower, gently gliding his fingers downwards, curious to how soft it truly was.

Frowning as he followed after Kimimaro towards the gardens, he finally let his guard down somewhat. Flowers and plants always put him at ease, even if they rarely got to see such sights within Kiri proper. Hands slipped out from beneath the sleeves of his yukata, gently plucking a crimson red flower from a patch not far from where his partner stood.
"Ah, it comes as no surprise that they would have such delicate things here," his tone held a hint of amusement, a strand of hair falling in front of his face. "Beautiful, but not hardy." It spoke volumes for him to compare such things, already finding Konoha to be far beyond his liking.

In concerning their surroundings, the young man held strong to the same beliefs of his companion. The Leaf village, as far as he was concerned, had grown fat and lazy from all of their years of economic growth and booming trade from the surrounding villages that had practically handed over life giving materials on a silver platter. Even the nation's poor held better life standards over than the working middle class of the Mist. This notion infuriated the boy to no end, finding such gluttonous needs of the nation to be overly selfish and a breeding ground for producing weak Shinobi.
However, his disgust would be shelled away for the time being, such emotions were unbecoming in times of precious leisure and the last thing that Kimimaro wanted was to be in a foul mood. His fingertips glazed over the soft petals, seemingly very pleased with the amount of texture that he felt against them. Judging from the various species of plants along with their overall health, it was quite easy to determined that someone would religiously tend to the open ended garden. Catching onto Haku's statement rather quickly, Kimimaro passed the white petals, heading in part to the small bushels of lavender that accented the garden.
"A true representation of the Village," He spoke in such a dry, disapproving tone as his eyes flickered over the sweet smelling petals.
"Built to attract and to awe, but unable to handle anything harsher than a mild Summer's day."

The lavender he couldn't help but snort at, shaking his head at all of it. Sweet smelling flowers were nice and all, but this just screamed trying too hard, to him. Moving to his companion's side he leaned against his side just a tiny bit, amused by the dry tone of his words. He knew very well that he held the same feelings he did on the matter of this village.
"Why we have... peace with this village is beyond me, we really have nothing to gain. Though I suppose the Mizukage has his reasons, even if the Hokage is... pathetic for having a bloodline as powerful as they say."

Sweet smelling flowers were showy, often prissy little trinkets. Always for show and rarely ever for practical use, it didn't shock him that those types of flowers littered the surrounding area. Ah, what Kimi wouldn't give to actually be amidst Haku's garden, the soft earthy smell of his herbs were always a welcome distraction from the world around him. At Haku's words, however, a low sort of smirk made its way a crossed his stoic features.
"I wouldn't go as far as to say we received nothing from our talks of peace. The parchment the presented us with will make for a very ironic center piece within the Mizukage's office while they sign away everything they gluttonously hold near and dear to them."
Such open casual talk was very dangerous, tip toeing the line of treason even, but yet Kimimaro held no fear for the repercussions of his actions. What did he have to fear from the truth?
"Is he as emotionally pathetic as they say? I barely spared a moment in listening to him speak to the group."

Herbs were always something he grew, knowing fully that the scent was gorgeous amongst the normal smell of their village and a calming sort of effect. It just helped even more that they were useful little things, quelling various ailments as well as being nice additions to various foods if there was nothing else to use them for. Not just showy gifts like these flowers were, certainly not, Haku was nothing but practical in his means.
A soft laugh slipped past pursed lips with Kimimaro's assessment, nodding his head in agreement with him. "Certainly would put egg on their face, no?"
On the topic of the Hokage, however... "Exactly as they say, he was late to his little speech as well. It was pathetic and disgusting to watch, I'm surprised the Mizukage even spared him the time of day."
no subject
Oh yes he knew that face! Kimimaro. Right. Very much out of Izumo's league in terms of importance.
Izumo started walking again, fully intending to pass the man by, though his gaze stayed on him warily, curiously.
You heard a lot of interesting rumors about Mist-nin. Izumo had always wondered just how much was true and how much was fabrication.

Though engrossed in his flower, the patter of footsteps certainly did perk his senses. Though they weren't entirely far out, this could be considered a bit out of the way for most of the general public. With a lift of his head, Kimimaro's piercing eyes flickered over Izumo, watching him with an intense calculating gaze.

Or boredom.Kimimaro didn't look like he fell into any of those categories, but Izumo had lived this long by relying on the assumption everyone eventually would attempt to stab him at some point."Ah, sorry. Didn't mean to disturb you..."

A flash of unfamiliar clothing caught her eye through the lush green trees and she stopped, using her chakra to hold herself to the branch she stood on in order to halt her momentum before she took a look around. Huh, that man... She saw him in passing before. He was one of the Mizukage's guard, wasn't he? Normally, seeing a foreign ninja on his own would be at least a little cause for alarm, but here...
She jumped down some distance away, careful to watch for any hostile reactions but otherwise trying to show that she wasn't intending to fight with him, her own eyes softening as she glanced at the flower he was about to touch.

So, the million ryo question was if they stopped simply out of curiosity, or did they intend on making Kimimaro their next target? There wasn’t even a pause in his motions; the boy was completely unthreatened by the unknown presence. If the spying eyes held any sort of ill-intent, they would make the first move…which would be their very last mistake.
With the presence looming over his shoulders, Kimimaro continued to admire the soft and welcoming texture of the Calla's inward petals. Skimming his index finger in a slight nuzzling sensation, the boy was apparently pleased with this particular specimen. Though nowhere near its full potential, these flowers could show great promise if under someone who had the proper botanical knowledge and care.
Straightening out his back, the boy turned his attention to the rather elegant looking roses, moving to give them the same treatment as the previous blossoms with one difference, the breaking of silence.
“It’s not polite to stare.”

Eventually she hung her head, a little humiliated as she addressed his words, "It just seemed a little strange... All the horror stories I've heard, and yet... Well... Are lilies your favourite flowers?"
... WHY DID SHE ASK THAT!?
no subject
At the softly feminine voice, Kimimaro stands at his full height, not bothering to glance upwards just yet. It appears that the onlooker could, indeed, speak.
"Some are fabricated, most are most likely true."
Her question, caused a little bit of a pause in his relaxed posture. It had been a very long time since a stranger had asked such a casual question to him. Normally a dismissive person by nature, Kimimaro saw little harm in casual conversation until the girl bore him to tears.
"You have attention to detail, they are indeed."

It took a couple of seconds for Adela to wipe that dumbfounded expression off her face, regaining some semblance of composure despite the pink dusting on her cheeks. Really it was a guess, but... Better if he didn't know that. It was a guess with reason, considering how he was looking at the flowers and...
Okay she was getting off topic in her own thoughts. Eventually she seated herself in the tree she was standing on, making herself a bit more comfortable as she tried to think of the next step from there. She was stuck there now, might as well continue the conversation... For now. When else would she get a chance to learn about one of the Kiri nin visiting their village?
"Are there a lot of them in your village? Lilies, or just flowers in general."
