Okay everyone, it's time to test some people out! The rules of the game are simple. You have a character you would like to try out as a native to the setting of this game. You want to see if this is the right setting to play said character in, right? Well, then all you have to do is drop them into this post as a top level comment with this as the header: Character name | Series (OC's just put Original here) | Planned Village Affiliation Then you comment around and play with everyone else! If you need some ideas on how to get started, you can drop your character in during the middle of a mission, have them at an eatery around their village, or maybe even just doing weapons practice. It's up to you how you want to set out, so feel free to put your characters in this version of the Naruto universe however it most seems appropriate. Just be sure to say where you put them somewhere in your post though, otherwise two people might not even be threading in the same country. One last thing! Remember that your character was born in this universe, so whatever else you decide, your character is a world native, even if they might be a tourist in the village you decided to test them out on. And that's it. Just be good to each other and have fun! Threads you do here can count toward future activity checks, so long as the person you're threading with gets in too. These threads can also be used for samples on your application. Itachi waited patiently for Hayate to get out what he wanted to say. At least Hayate didn't stutter anymore. Itachi suppressed a smile at the request. He bowed on reflex.

"I would be honored to share tea with you at your earliest convenience, Hayate-san." Itachi straightened and motioned to the paperwork. "I've got paper duty this week, so I'll be in Konoha for the next few days."

Hayate returned the bow more deeply. "I will be honored by your presence, Itachi-san," he said, the formal phrase falling easily from his lips. He straightened, and pressed a hand to his ribs with a grimace. "Perhaps Two days from now? At Ippodo's?"

It was a pleasant little cafe and old, but well within Hayate's budget. Even so, a little splurging on an old friend was nothing he couldn't afford. Friends were valuable, and Itachi? Hayate liked him for himself, not what clan he was born to nor what political power he wielded.

Two days from now--soon enough to not seem like either of them was putting off the other's company, and yet far enough away there would be time to rest and rearrange anything that needed it. A very diplomatic time frame. Itachi's lips twitched, because he knew Hayate hadn't poured thought into the suggestion. Hayate might be formal, but never conniving.

Itachi nodded. "Mid-afternoon?"

"That will do well, yes," Hayate confirmed, with a crooked little smile lighting his face. "I'll look forward to it, Itachi-san."

And he would, because he enjoyed Itachi's company. They often had a great deal to talk about, because conversation flowed naturally between them and they would hit any topic from the latest Academy graduates to the price of dango in Suna. Hayate had long ago learned not to question the strange turns of conversation with Itachi. Half the time neither of them knew how they'd ended up on a particular subject.

"I will as well, please take care of yourself in the meantime." Part of the fun with Hayate was the ritualized speech that wasn't awful and stilted but more like enacting an old an familiar play. Itachi enjoyed the rather structured interaction, with rules and nice things like that. He was looking forward to their meeting.

Itachi gave Hayate another shallow bow and a smile went on his way.

Hayate bowed politely in return, and answered, "And you as well," because Itachi got himself into the most bizarre of circumstances sometimes. Itachi's often-fiery temper got him into a good deal of trouble, even if he hid it well under a calm and well-mannered exterior. Hayate turned ro go home and rest, a smile on his lips still. A fortunate meeting indeed!
