Okay everyone, it's time to test some people out! The rules of the game are simple. You have a character you would like to try out as a native to the setting of this game. You want to see if this is the right setting to play said character in, right?

Well, then all you have to do is drop them into this post as a top level comment with this as the header:
Character name | Series (OC's just put Original here) | Planned Village Affiliation

Then you comment around and play with everyone else!

If you need some ideas on how to get started, you can drop your character in during the middle of a mission, have them at an eatery around their village, or maybe even just doing weapons practice. It's up to you how you want to set out, so feel free to put your characters in this version of the Naruto universe however it most seems appropriate. Just be sure to say where you put them somewhere in your post though, otherwise two people might not even be threading in the same country.

One last thing! Remember that your character was born in this universe, so whatever else you decide, your character is a world native, even if they might be a tourist in the village you decided to test them out on.

And that's it. Just be good to each other and have fun! Threads you do here can count toward future activity checks, so long as the person you're threading with gets in too. These threads can also be used for samples on your application.

abileunaspada: Thanks to Tarot for the B/W bases! (What the hell d'you want?)

"... I guess so," Who knew what she was answering to, but she finally met his eye again at the least. He was kind of nice, really. Even if she was questioning inwardly whether or not he should have been pulling at the stitches.

Still, maybe this was an opportunity that she shouldn't pass up. After a beat, she managed to calm herself enough to speak evenly and asked a question, "Uh, so... I guess you probably get asked this a lot, but you know a lot of fire jutsu too, right? Maybe you could show me, or give me some pointers so I can improve my own?"

"I know a few," Itachi agreed amiably. "Water jutsu are my other specialty." Most people assumed wind would be his second type, as fir and wind seemed to go hand in hand. Itachi hesitated.

"I'm not a very good teacher, but I can try." Wasn't it his duty to help younger ninja improve? Or learned how to most effectively scorch off their eyebrows?
abileunaspada: (Oooh...)

"Really? ... I mean, good. You shouldn't underestimate me just 'cause I'm younger, and you're smarter for that," Adela tried to play off her surprise, as well as her new excitement to possibly learning new techniques or ways to use her existing ones. She wouldn't admit it, but this guy was kind of nice. She approached and stopped by the water's edge, watching him expectantly as she asked, "Where should we start?"
dangodragon: (small grin)

Itachi suppressed a smile. "Why don't you you show me a few of your jutsu so I'll know what you can do." As he spoke, Itachi activated his Sharingan, which was the best way to watch someone else's techniques. "We can go from there."
abileunaspada: Thanks to Tarot for the B/W bases! (Yeah so what's that mean?)

"Right," That time she nodded, taking a breath before she formed her chakra and went through the hand signs. She could do a couple over the water without setting anything on fire, so she went into the Exploding Flame Shot technique before letting it dissolve in the water. That was before she made to show him the Dragon Flame technique, or at least what she could do to the best of her ability without using wire or fire-conducive materials. She went through a few more jutsu without interruption before she finally stopped, sighing and resisting the urge to rub at the increasingly-sensitive skin of her cheeks.

"Those're all the fire jutsu I know... I'm pretty good with them, but I could be better. I just know it."

As Itachi watched the performance with critical red eyes, he dug in a belt pouch for a small scroll. As she finished her display, Itachi ran his hand through a few seals and released a small tin of cream from the scroll, tossing it gently to her. "If you put this on your cheeks and lips it should keep you from burning them." She had good enough control the fire wasn't wild, but even short bursts of heat that close to your face could burn it.

"You'l have to forgive my manners--I'm Uchiha Itachi." Itachi gave her a shallow bow.
abileunaspada: (That is just... Amazing...)

[personal profile] abileunaspada 2013-12-18 07:47 pm (UTC)(link)
For a brief moment she blinked in her confusion at him (though she caught the tin at least), and that was before she returned the bow, "Milani Adela. It's... Good to meet you."

Uchiha Itachi, huh? She wondered how much older he was, or what rank. Well, whatever it was, he was able to help a little at least - even if it was just with cream. Which she was already working on rubbing on her cheeks and lips. A thin layer should do it...

"It's a pleasure to make you acquaintance," Itachi returned the nicetie absently, already thinking back to the jutsu she'd down him.

"The most important thing is to have enough control that the fire doesn't get away from you, and enough forward energy it doesn't come back into your face. Even a small spark could set your hair on fire." Nothing quite as distracting as you hair suddenly smoldering. "Overall you had good technique. The more chakra control you have and the more chakra put into the technique, the larger and hotter the flames will be. Working on the smoother transitions between your hand signs should help your efficiency." Itachi paused. Fire techniques came easily to him. His chakra had been attuned to the element from birth, sometimes making it difficult to express in words what he did differently.

"When you breath out, are you pushing from your diaphragm or from your chest?" Itachi asked. He hadn't been paying attention to that bit.

OOC: please don't mind me as I BS my way through this...
abileunaspada: Thanks to Tarot for the B/W bases! (You... I... Wha?)

[personal profile] abileunaspada 2013-12-18 09:08 pm (UTC)(link)
Most of it was all stuff she had either heard before or knew from experience, but when he mentioned breathing she started tuning into what he was saying again. Breathing? "Uh... Usually from my chest. Why're you asking?"

Was it that important? Oh man, she'd feel dumb if that was wrong, because that just sounded way too basic to screw up but if she didn't know then - Agh! This was why she wanted someone to teach her how to use her chakras properly earlier...

[[OoC: Totally fine! Adela has natural affinities for Fire, Earth, and Water chakra but no one to really teach her in Fire (at least), so it'd be natural if she got some stuff wrong. :P]]
dangodragon: (Eh-hem)

[personal profile] dangodragon 2013-12-20 11:53 pm (UTC)(link)
"You get a deeper and more forceful breath, and it helps with your chakra circulation." Deep breathing was a good thing to practice anyway, as was almost religious stretching routines to unkink everything that got kinked when bouncing off ceilings and slamming into walls.

"Now...the most important thing in a fire jutsu isn't the heat or the distance, but being able to balance control with power. Fire is, in its nature, destructive and greedy, so as long as your provide it with fuel it will damage and kill. In a place like Konoha, and when in a fight with allies, fire can be more detrimental than anything else. You should always focus more on control in a fire jutsu and know your limits. Duration is also important. Hair will catch fire quickly, and skin burns easily, but most clothing takes a few second longer to catch, or a hotter flame." Itachi realized he was rambling. As fire jutsu were one of his clan's trademarks, he'd grown up hearing discussions on them and could get carried away.

"It's mostly practice and observation, which are unfortunately things you have to do for yourself." Which made Itachi a rather ineffective teacher. Go forth and burn things and call it training. "Sorry, I'm not very much help."
abileunaspada: Thanks to Tarot for the B/W bases! (Dot dot dot... Ellipses...)

[personal profile] abileunaspada 2013-12-21 01:18 am (UTC)(link)
Practice and observation... That really wasn't helpful at all. In fact it prompted a sigh from her, though she nodded regardless to show that she understood. Practice and observation, huh...

Hmm...

"Show me."

Itachi wondered how watching someone else would help with a jutsu. It helped him because he could see a memorize what was done both in hand signs and chakra. "What do you want to see?" He had offered to help, and since he wasn't doing a very good job of it, he was willing to take suggestions.

"Just a fire jutsu. Something you want to do," She shrugged, making to seat herself on a nearby rock as she waited expectantly. He said that observation would help, so maybe if she watched how it was done properly, she'd get a better idea of how to do it herself. Sure, she didn't have a fancy doujutsu or anything to help her learn techniques, but that didn't mean her observation skills were anything to be discounted.

It might not have been the best idea, but it was worth a shot.
