Okay everyone, it's time to test some people out! The rules of the game are simple. You have a character you would like to try out as a native to the setting of this game. You want to see if this is the right setting to play said character in, right?

Well, then all you have to do is drop them into this post as a top level comment with this as the header:
Character name | Series (OC's just put Original here) | Planned Village Affiliation

Then you comment around and play with everyone else!

If you need some ideas on how to get started, you can drop your character in during the middle of a mission, have them at an eatery around their village, or maybe even just doing weapons practice. It's up to you how you want to set out, so feel free to put your characters in this version of the Naruto universe however it most seems appropriate. Just be sure to say where you put them somewhere in your post though, otherwise two people might not even be threading in the same country.

One last thing! Remember that your character was born in this universe, so whatever else you decide, your character is a world native, even if they might be a tourist in the village you decided to test them out on.

And that's it. Just be good to each other and have fun! Threads you do here can count toward future activity checks, so long as the person you're threading with gets in too. These threads can also be used for samples on your application.

Itachi eyed the spot in the road and then the monument. So Kagami was being sentimental, not senile. It amounted to the same thing, but Itachi took the rebuke with only a modicum of sheepishness as he followed his elderly relative out of the road. Mission accomplished. Shisui's father was not maimed and not one had to live with the shame of having run over one of the most elderly Uchiha with a cabbage cart.

"The road was probably not as busy back then," Itachi observed. "Becoming so caught up in the past that you ignore the present and the future isn't a very wise thing to do, uncle." Itachi tended to use the terms uncle, cousin, and aunt with the Uchiha in a very general sense. Eventually, he was related to everyone with that last name.

Sentimental and senile were clearly not the same thing, Itachi, stop that. And wow, since when did you take looking after Shisui's old man to be a mission? Because this tough cookie didn't need looking after. And will you stop rubbing it in that he was the most 'elderly' Uchiha? He was only sixty seven. Only.

"There was no road back then." But Itachi earns a quirk of that still-very-black eyebrow for that one. "What made you assume that I wasn't in tune with my current surroundings, Itachi?"

"Most people don't stand in heavy traffic for nostalgia's sake," Itachi replied, maybe a little caustic. He was trying to be good and nice and polite, but it was wearing thin. Itachi took a deep breath. My sincerest apologies for offending you in my attempt to keep my best friend's most venerable father from becoming a historical landmark on the street as the best place to view the Hokage's monument from a historic perspective. In the future I will mind my own business and allow people to think you either lack the mental capacity to get out of the road or are so egocentric you believe traffic should be diverted so you can stare at the Hokage's monument at your leisure.

. . .

No, there wasn't a point in wasting that much breath on the man. Itachi bowed. "Thank you for getting out of the road, Kagami-san." With that he fully intended to make his escape before Kagami could say anything else.

Kagami had quite the clear idea on what the other man was probably thinking, and watched himself when he smiled at the realization. Don't get so offended when other people don't give you the reaction you were expecting, young man.

"Itachi--" He called after him, not really expecting Itachi to turn around and stop for him. "Thank you." That was what he had been expecting, hadn't he? Some form of acknowledgment for all his trouble.

Itachi jerked his head around to stare at Kagami, not quite staring but obviously suspicious. After everything the man had said, Itachi didn't think he could take the word seriously. Or could he? After a second too long of eyeing Kagami, Itachi nodded and hurried off in the other direction.

Next time, he really was just going to mind his own business.
