Test Drive Post!
Sunshineverse | ||||||||
Okay everyone, it's time to test some people out! The rules of the game are simple. You have a character you would like to try out as a native to the setting of this game. You want to see if this is the right setting to play said character in, right? Well, then all you have to do is drop them into this post as a top level comment with this as the header: Character name | Series (OC's just put Original here) | Planned Village Affiliation Then you comment around and play with everyone else! If you need some ideas on how to get started, you can drop your character in during the middle of a mission, have them at an eatery around their village, or maybe even just doing weapons practice. It's up to you how you want to set out, so feel free to put your characters in this version of the Naruto universe however it most seems appropriate. Just be sure to say where you put them somewhere in your post though, otherwise two people might not even be threading in the same country. One last thing! Remember that your character was born in this universe, so whatever else you decide, your character is a world native, even if they might be a tourist in the village you decided to test them out on. And that's it. Just be good to each other and have fun! Threads you do here can count toward future activity checks, so long as the person you're threading with gets in too. These threads can also be used for samples on your application.

Him reaching down and touching her injury was a huge concern. She wasn't exactly a medic, so she couldn't actually say if that was a medical technique, but it was certainly a potential genjutsu technique.
Despite the fact that her sword would be useless against genjutsu, her hand immediately went to its hilt anyway. "H-hey, what are you doing?" At least she had the skills to stave off genjutsu if that's what he was trying to do...but that didn't mean she really wanted to.

"Healing. After a fashion."

She blinked down at her leg, and then glanced up at him. "I've never heard of healing like that."

About as intimidating as a wet kitten, this one. "Now, what is a Konoha-nin doing here?"

"...Like I said, I'm lost. I don't know where 'here' is." Though she's sure now it must be Ame, since he identified her as Konoha. Which is...potentially diplomatically awkward, but...
"...But I'm guessing this is Ame? I must have tumbled across the border a little ways back."

After all, he'd noticed her a while ago.

But she's not going to share tactical information with some random person in Ame, even if her mission wasn't highly classified. She's not an idiot.
"...If you're familiar with this area, do you know the closest road back into Konoha? The way I came from is too steep and slick from this mud." The chakra she usually used to climb things was of little to no help when what she gripped slipped away as quickly as her feet would have on their own.

She'd had trouble getting up the cliff maybe more than normal due to her injury, but a road really would be best. She could meet up with Kiba that way.

She was about to just bid him goodbye when she did glance back at him. He'd straightened up a bit, which wasn't anything unusual, but...the gloom of the rain and his hair had previously hidden much of his face before and...not anymore.
She startled and took an immediate step back when she met his now-visible eyes.
Rinnegan. She'd never seen it personally, but she'd read about it and heard it described. It was the sign of the messengers of Ame's leader. Which meant...she wasn't really sure, because Ame and its leader was weird and confusing, but ultimately...from her position of a foreign chuunin...he might as well have been another village's lord or kage.
"A-ah...?!" This. Was the opposite of avoiding an accidental diplomatic incident.
Shirakumo was going to kill her. "You're...You're one of...Lord Pein?" He's not her lord, but disrespect was not a thing she should compound the situation with. 'One of Pein' was really kind of iffy on it's own just because the paths were a mystery she never really studied, so how to address that she had...no...idea.

Anxiety aside for a brief moment--the Rinnegan was really something else to look at. The side of her that enjoyed taking techniques apart and examining them wanted to get closer and investigate them (for instance, were the apparent ridges above or under the lenses?) but the rational part of her kept that well under control.
Besides, even if he wasn't the representative of the leader of another country who might easily kill or capture her, or worse cause a diplomatic incident that would end in war or killing her promotion chances ever (she's not convinced the last hasn't already happened. Wandering into the wrong country was a mistake even genin usually avoided)...she had no medical training whatsoever. Without being handed a scroll of something to explain it or give her the answers she may or may not have wanted, she would have been able to do nothing more than poke at him.
And even an academy student knew not to poke the eyes of a foreign leader.
In truth, she wasn't remotely comfortable looking away from a strange and very powerful foreign shinobi, but she gave a small, apologetic bow anyway. Although it endangered her (more than just encountering him did), it was better that than do anything further to risk angering Ame. "I am...no one important. A chuunin who's lost her way. Please accept my deep apologies for the intrusion!"

Unless she started the Fourth Ninja War by falling into Ame, then maybe her name would be important. There was that.
"...Sakura. Sakura Haruno, of Konoha." Sakura was the name she defaulted to, because there was no use in being identified by a family that meant nothing even inside Konoha. But presuming that a lord-would-be-god-representative would want to use her first name would not win her any 'not going to start a war' points. Probably.

"Not at all, Lord Pein." It was just an escort mission with stubborn mercenaries and an annoying route that ended up in her mini disaster. Which speaking of, she was itching to change her appearance, but even a henge jutsu would be inappropriate action at the moment.

Or maybe especially. He still held bitterness toward them, to a degree, even now. "And how long have you been roaming here?"
