Test Drive Post!
Sunshineverse | ||||||||
Okay everyone, it's time to test some people out! The rules of the game are simple. You have a character you would like to try out as a native to the setting of this game. You want to see if this is the right setting to play said character in, right? Well, then all you have to do is drop them into this post as a top level comment with this as the header: Character name | Series (OC's just put Original here) | Planned Village Affiliation Then you comment around and play with everyone else! If you need some ideas on how to get started, you can drop your character in during the middle of a mission, have them at an eatery around their village, or maybe even just doing weapons practice. It's up to you how you want to set out, so feel free to put your characters in this version of the Naruto universe however it most seems appropriate. Just be sure to say where you put them somewhere in your post though, otherwise two people might not even be threading in the same country. One last thing! Remember that your character was born in this universe, so whatever else you decide, your character is a world native, even if they might be a tourist in the village you decided to test them out on. And that's it. Just be good to each other and have fun! Threads you do here can count toward future activity checks, so long as the person you're threading with gets in too. These threads can also be used for samples on your application.

And as he watched her expression change at the news of a mission, Shisui couldn't help but grin himself. He resisted the urge to chuckle, though. "A runaway," he informed her. "Merely returning an individual to their family." Shisui began to turn with the intention of walking in the direction of a more quieter area so that they could sit and have their lunch while discussing the details of their mission. Of course, Shisui wasn't given her any indication that said individual was not human. In fact, he planned to draw it out for as long as possible, have her believe it was a strange-looking human individual they were after.
Why?
Because Shisui was just curious to find her reaction to the discovery that their target was a spoiled old cat.
But Ami was right. Her first mission would be a gateway to the ones that came after it. And then, just as he was about to take a step towards a bench he'd spotted in the near distance, she mentioned that they just might have to shower. Shisui's expression changed for one that was flustered, and, on instinct, found himself sniffing himself-- Only to stop when he realized what he was doing. "...Is it that bad, really?"

She paused, almost as though waiting for the hope that she was done to blossom since more.
"Also, you have have mud stains on the seat of your pants." Admittedly that was very hard for somebody who wasn't trained to pick out little details or raised in a textile shop to notice against the dark material. He had tried, from what she could see, to wash it out but likely hadn't had a steady supply of detergent readily available.

Oh well.
"I-- doubt this particular client would care what we smell like..." That he didn't reek was good news, but Shisui was suddenly extremely self conscious now. It was a good thing Ami was so short, he thought, because she wasn't exactly in the vicinity of his upper body and--
Oi.
"Stop staring at my ass, Ami, we have work to do." With that, he picked up his pace, longer strides covering the distance to the bench much faster as he stomped off, more embarrassed than annoyed.

She pulled ahead of her teacher with a haughty little sniff straight from basic kunoichi classes and placed the take-out bag on the bench before heaving herself up.
After a moment, she remembered the thermos of tea she had in her large messenger bag, and dug it free along with her canteen, which she held up. "Do you want to use this, or the cup?"
no subject
"Well. Good to know you like boys with rounder bottoms~" Shisui sent her the briefest of winks, grinning.
A glance at the thermos and he remembered that new tea shop he'd passed on the way home. He was also suddenly reminded of how much he missed tea. "Whatever's fine." The grin finally faded into a soft smile, perhaps even grateful for offering food and drink. "Thank you." That probably was the second time he'd thanked her that afternoon.
"So how come you don't like boys?" Whatever happened to the briefing?

She dug into the white paper and pulled free a large, still-steaming bun, opting to take a big bite rather than immediately answer Shisui. She couldn't spend forever chewing a single mouthful, however, so she was eventually forced to swallow.
"Because they make fun of my clothes and ribbon," she said, reluctantly. "And my aunt and cousin worked hard making them for me. And they're really annoying when I beat them." She took another huge bite.

His hand flinched back at the bat, and he stifled a chuckle. It was endearing, watching her literally take care of him.
Shisui was quick to notice the temporary diversion, and said nothing, waiting patiently for till she spoke up while he slipped his envelope in his pocket and then shifted his cup of tea to his other hand. Reaching into the bag, he grabbed himself a meat bun. He didn't sit there ruminating a single bite, though. It was so good he wasn't really wasting time chewing properly either. That, and he'd gone a few days without proper food, living on the soldier pill to maximize his efficiency, so he was starved for real food. Soldier pills were great in that they were highly convenient; but they tasted like utter crap.
He watched her over the rising steam of the bun he was munching on, expression soft, yet slightly amused. "I think your aunt and cousin make wonderful clothes. Perhaps those boys just have really poor taste?" He smiled, mostly to himself, before taking another bite. "Or maybe it's not your clothes. Maybe they just like seeing you react the way you do," Shisui added, softly.

Mercifully, she refrained from passing judgment on his rather...voracious table manners—bench manners?—instead glad that she had gotten the large bag as a lunch-and-dinner idea. And that she had gotten both pork and beef, since Shisui looked so happy. She took another bite, cheeks bulging slightly in a way that her cousin had—gently but affectionately—dubbed hamster-esque. When she swallowed, not even the lingering taste of deliciously seasoned and spiced ground beef was enough to wipe the discomfited look from her face.
"...what, you mean they like it when I hurt them?" Ami hunched her shoulders, brows knitting together. "Like that whole 'M' thing from the kunoichi classes?" Her bun finished, she braced her chin in the apex of her thumb and forefinger thoughtfully. "Huh. Well, I guess Higanbana-sensei did tell me that there would be guys who liked being shamed and demeaned by little girls, but I thought she meant dirty old men. Maybe lechery really isn't exclusive..."
no subject
No.
This internal dialogue is getting out of hand.
Shisui shrugged at her question, though, but cocked an eyebrow at the mention of said 'M' thing. "What 'M' thing?" Kunoichi classes. The one thing he'd always wanted to find out. What was so special that kunoichi had separate secret classes the boys weren't allowed to butt into? He'd always wanted to know, but he'd never really gotten the complete picture. Just always bits and pieces of information from places.
"No, lechery isn't exclusive," he said quietly. His tone was serious. For a second or two, just as he considered nasty old men being jerks to his precious student. Shisui tore a piece of his bun at the mental image. Literally tore-- the bread ripped painfully under his teeth. "Those kinds of people need a good kicking in the family jewels. But-- as for the teasing." Shisui sighed. "I'll tell you a secret..."
By now, he was done with his bun, and he reached in for another. "I used to hate girls -- and women -- when I was about your age." They picked on him for his eyes. Called him pretty.
...They still did. But it didn't bother him so much now.
