Okay everyone, it's time to test some people out! The rules of the game are simple. You have a character you would like to try out as a native to the setting of this game. You want to see if this is the right setting to play said character in, right? Well, then all you have to do is drop them into this post as a top level comment with this as the header: Character name | Series (OC's just put Original here) | Planned Village Affiliation Then you comment around and play with everyone else! If you need some ideas on how to get started, you can drop your character in during the middle of a mission, have them at an eatery around their village, or maybe even just doing weapons practice. It's up to you how you want to set out, so feel free to put your characters in this version of the Naruto universe however it most seems appropriate. Just be sure to say where you put them somewhere in your post though, otherwise two people might not even be threading in the same country. One last thing! Remember that your character was born in this universe, so whatever else you decide, your character is a world native, even if they might be a tourist in the village you decided to test them out on. And that's it. Just be good to each other and have fun! Threads you do here can count toward future activity checks, so long as the person you're threading with gets in too. "No, it was Itachi crossing missions after Sasuke's was revealed to have nin, which weren't supposed to be there, and high ranked ones at that." He was quiet a beat, looking at Shisui very seriously, expression turning solemn. Usually, he'd correct one of his cousins using his title, but a lot of bad things were starting to stir in the world these days, and he was having to work doubletime to check up on the treaties because of it.

"From what I understand, one of the combatants was a man that had long black hair and summoned snakes on the team." He had no doubt that Shisui would see how bad of a picture those facts painted. "As for the information problems... it's not inside the village. All intelligence personnel have been gone over recently. It's the missions themselves, they're being misrepresented by the clients more often, and I've started to send out people to see if this is a coordinated effort to thin the ranks."

Shisui's agitation was evident. He almost looked guilty at the news. He'd been overprotective at one point, but hadn't really gone that far. Shisui said nothing to Obito, determined to talk to Itachi about things. Eventually. No, soon, actually. As soon as he would be done with Ami's mission. Mollycoddling was just plain ol' disrespectful.

Shisui stiffened, his eyes flashing danger at Obito's description of said combatant. "Could it be..." Orochimaru. He dared not utter the name, as if doing so would empower the bearer of it. But he seethed at the possibility of it being the man himself. Traitor.

And worse: the man saw them as mere experiments. A means to an end.

Perhaps he could forgive Itachi for intervening. Should Orochimaru get a hold of the Sharingan, then...

"You think they're trying to lure us out?" That-- was a double-edged sword. And immediately, Shisui connected dots to start worrying about a related issue: "Where is Kushina-san at the moment?" Not that he doubted her abilities, or Minato's, to defend herself, but there was something very unsettling about the whole thing.

Shisui... worried.

He was glad that Shisui was one of those cousins who saw the bigger picture, because he needed those people right now. Too many were focused on the little issues, and that just made smoothing things over to seem like business as usual more difficult for him in the end.

But that was what a Hokage did. He made sure his people felt secure.

Even if that might not be true.

"It's very possible." It was a murmur, and he let out a soft sigh. "At the moment, Kushina-nee is in Uzushio, dealing with a few things that came up over getting some of her newest nin settled."

Shisui was one of those people who had been brought up amidst conspiracy theories that getting used to the illusion of peace was nigh impossible. The worst bit was that not only did he suspect Orochimaru, but he suspected people much closer to them. Obito had never been their first choice; this was a fact.

He was only very vaguely reassured about Kushina's whereabouts, and Shisui frowned, setting Kushina as a topic aside to tackle the possibility of Orochimaru planning something sinister. "How much do we know of him since he left Konoha?"

Has anyone ever found his hideout, or been able to decipher what kind of agenda the man was running at the moment? What was he playing with now? Shisui believed in keeping ones enemies close, and Orochimaru was too far underground for his comfort.

"Not anywhere near enough. Interesting fact though." His tone lowered a touch, to a very thoughtful, if informative murmur. "All the shinobi that weren't ours or Kiri were Oto. You know, that new village in Rice that no one seems to know about."

Not or lack of trying. There's a reason that he'd been fielding some of his intel people off in that direction for the last few years.
