Okay everyone, it's time to test some people out! The rules of the game are simple. You have a character you would like to try out as a native to the setting of this game. You want to see if this is the right setting to play said character in, right? Well, then all you have to do is drop them into this post as a top level comment with this as the header: Character name | Series (OC's just put Original here) | Planned Village Affiliation Then you comment around and play with everyone else! If you need some ideas on how to get started, you can drop your character in during the middle of a mission, have them at an eatery around their village, or maybe even just doing weapons practice. It's up to you how you want to set out, so feel free to put your characters in this version of the Naruto universe however it most seems appropriate. Just be sure to say where you put them somewhere in your post though, otherwise two people might not even be threading in the same country. One last thing! Remember that your character was born in this universe, so whatever else you decide, your character is a world native, even if they might be a tourist in the village you decided to test them out on. And that's it. Just be good to each other and have fun! Threads you do here can count toward future activity checks, so long as the person you're threading with gets in too. These threads can also be used for samples on your application. A rank of genin is better than no rank. You already do the work, and you're already pledged to Konoha. This way, people aren't technically committing treason when they teach you new medical jutsu.

You're a good person, there's no reason you shouldn't get your due, okay?

[He shook his head slightly, hands in his pockets as he tilted his head, watching her.]

Okay notifs, what're you doing?

Oooh yea... Wouldn't do Konoha any good if doctors got their asses busted like that. [Note to self: check mail sooner.]

They're being mean? Also, this thread can totally be canon if you bring her in. Cutest method.

[He snorted once, barely keeping from a proper laugh as he looked sideways at her.]

Pretty much, and we really don't have enough medics for other countries to think you're fair game to try stealing you either. This is protection from that.

It might have worked if Sephiroth wasn't paranoid about the seals being ambush points. He always kept his senses open when he came through. He didn't dare do otherwise, not after he'd been caught once too often by a seal that had been inadequately guarded. This one had its guards, but they weren't the only ones around, and he started int he direction of the small flare he'd felt.

It was familiar, and there should be no one familiar out here. "This duty is turning up all kinds of surprises. Come out. There's really no reason to hide when I know you're there."

Haha, I'm still working on her application. It's definitely an option

Those jackasses can try, but I'm Konoha born and bred. If anything, it's saving them from me. [She'll take a moment to get the hitai-ate around her neck properly]

He leaned in, slowly, and meaningfully, making his way into her space as he did so. Still, he hadn't broken that eye contact, and he let a slow, wicked smirk come to his lips.

"You're no civilian."

[mountebanking]

Oh god oh god oh man oh god he's going to bite out my throat or something isn't he dammit why are the pretty ones the psychos...

"No," Yuichi agreed, beaming cheerfully as she tapped her floppy brim again. "I am not. I specifically remember telling you right off the bat that I am a witch. Ergo, I live in a forest, and am not a normal, run-of-the-mill villager." Not a shinobi, since she hadn't been trained to serve anybody or anything other than her own self interest.

"Me? I'm just doing a border check." He looked over at her, running his gaze down her frame. "How fortuitous."

The way he said it expressed just how profoundly let down he was by the encounter.

He accepted the offerings, then took a breath, taking in the scent of the food before setting about eating, his gaze cutting over toward her thoughtfully. She was courteous, crafty, and obviously civilian. He was bewildered.

"Where are you from?"

[silverterror]

"Good." He shifted, hand falling to the hilt of his blade as a slow smirk came to his lips. "Come."

[He did laugh then, his smile growing.]

Sounds right. You'll forgive your Hokage not noticing the screw up sooner?

"... Why 'fortuitous'?" She asked, already knowing full well what the answer was. He'd see no challenge from her, and they both knew it. He didn't even care that he had come across her; she wasn't good enough to kill, or good enough to bring back to the clan.

Like poison the toxic thoughts spread, stressing her beyond measure as she tried desperately to hold onto what little self control she had left.

"The Land of Rice Paddies, these days," Ashiko answered after she finished her current mouthful. "But I travel very frequently. And yourself?" She had more than a fair idea, of course. But it was only polite to ask him the same in return. And who knew, perhaps he might spin her a story instead of the obvious truth.

I apologize. I'm still feeling bleh from the oral surgery. BUT SQUEE! I AM GLAD TO SEE YOU HERE!

There's something exceedingly and painfully lonely about Kakashi in a tree, hidden among the shadows, lurking like the distant man he is. He could have team, friends, ...a life, if only he would let himself. But Kakashi never let himself have much of anything. He hid himself from basic social interactions.

Gai intended to break him of that habit. Even if it took years. So far, it had.

"My Rival!" Gai called up into the branches, shielding his eyes from the sun with his hand and grinning like a madman. Kakashi hadn't dashed away yet. Gai would consider this a good sign!
"I have not seen you in some time! Come down! I have lots of challenges planned for you!"

Hmm... [A moment of scrutiny, but she can't stop the grin.]

I think I can let it slide. I should've noticed the slip-up myself anyway.

"...Crap, you're serious."

This really wasn't looking good... But if she was promoted, then she'd likely be facing against powerful shinobi much like Sephiroth, wouldn't she? Even if she didn't like it... So with maybe a bit of reluctance, Ava equipped her fans once again and slid a foot back. There was a brief second as she seemed to think over what to do before she twisted on her heels as flame chakra razed up along her fans. A sharp snap of her wrist along with the momentum made the flames leap from her fan to the grass, a path of flames going straight to the older jounin as they fed upon the blades of grass.

For now, she didn't want to get anywhere in that blade's range... and changing the battlefield more with her favored element would work for her, too. Those were her thoughts, anyway.

"Very true," remarked Abel, reluctantly dropping to the ground far enough away to discourage any attack. "You're looking well."

He wanted to have plenty of lead should Sephiroth attack him to take him back to Kiri. Abel wouldn't attack first, not wanting to cause an incident between Ame and Kiri, but there was no telling what the other would do.

Just another forest. Everyone can be cranky today!

There was a team sent out today for a pretty high-ranked mission, but another Medic was taken along with them. Not that Maria was jealous or anything... Okay, maybe she was a little, but today was her day off anyway. Having to busy herself with something, she decided to time herself again. She didn't go that far from the village, but picked out a pretty dense thicket and spread the targets around.

"Okay..." Maria put them at varying distance and among different obstacles with different angles. Injured Shinobi can end up anywhere like hanging in thickets or tangled in branches. This would do. She was pumped up. Smiling, she went to her starting point and raised the timer. "Annnd... go!"

She was off in a bound, timer left behind for her to come back and stop. Her chakra flowed as she moved fast, flashing around trucks, slipping through branches, hitting targets one by one with her hand. There would never be this many on the field needing her assistance unless it was a war, but then, she wouldn't be alone. Couldn't trust all the medics though. She had to remember to practice the Palm Technique later; increasing the chakra output for moments like this.

With the last target in sight, she's shooting towards it when she noticed the disturbance. "A seal point--?" And it's right in front of her target. Someone was stepping through, too. Hostile, non-hostile, she couldn't judge immediately, but they had some nerve.

She disappeared before she got too close to running into them - maybe even knocking them back into the seal or being attacked if they decided to do that. Both feet hit the ground and her hands were immediately at her waist. "Dammit, what the hell are you doing here!?" She knew she probably should've gone elsewhere or stuck to the actual Training Field.

[He huffed a breath and gave a little laugh.]

Safe to say we both should have caught it, and didn't. Suffice to say I now have the daunting task to make sure you were the only one. This week will be miserable for me, that's for sure.

"No, the concept of a witch is a civilian thing. You're not that either." He tisked, tilting his head to peer past that hat as he got close enough he couldn't easily see her face anymore. He knew he had a presence. He was using it, if unintentionally, and it was interesting seeing how well her composure held.

"Why? Because now I know better than to keep my hopes up that I might have a challenge someday."

The words were silken, harsh, and by no means intended to be kind. They were meant to cut, to show how much she'd displeased him, and he was fairly sure she got the message. All the better, that.

He peered at her, aware the hitai-ate he wore hand't been concealed, though his cloak from time to time obscured it at his waist. Still, she'd asked for a reason, and had been somewhat pleasant, so there was no reason to not humor her.

Just not in the obvious way. "I travel often as well, actually, though not typically on this patrol."

It would have worked better if it had been pretty much any Kiri shinobi but Sephiroth. He was peculiar, even within his clan, and he turned in place, one hand forming a seal as the other swept in a circle, turning the fire to quickly cooled and stifled lava in a circular barrier around him.

"I'm always serious. You can do better."

[silverterror]

"As are you. Astonishing, that." He narrowed his eyes, looking him over carefully. They'd run missions together, once, but that was a long time ago, before this man had fled their home country and taken his dwindling bloodline with him.

"You almost look happy."
