THE ACADEMY AGE MEME

"No, you can't eat yourself if you henge into a bowl of ramen, go sit back down"
Ah yes, another long-awaited Sunshineverse meme!
As the name suggests, this meme is fairly straightforward: bring out the cute academy aged icons, because we'll be playing everyone as their young, academy aged selves! This time it's pretty straightforward, but here's a step by step anyway.
Step one: Post a top level comment with your character's name and affiliation at the time of their academy training. You should probably include their age--again, at the time they'd be in the academy--along with it. If, for whatever reason, your character didn't go to a ninja academy, probably just post them as a child around the time other kids would have been in the academy
Step two: Given the nature of this meme, you may want to include a scenario or two for people to tag into, but otherwise, it's a good idea to include relevant information people will need if they tag your character. If during their childhood they refused to leave trees, preferred to henge into a puddle to make people slip on them, or killed people indiscriminately, these are good things for people to know.
Step three: Tag to others, and relive your
NOTE: Ages in this meme are synched up. That means school-kid Karin won't be able to kick it with school-kid Kushina. But! A school-kid Karin could end up interacting with a somewhat younger than current canon Kushina!
BONUS NOTES!
1: Although it isn't required to, all tags and threads in this meme can absolutely count toward actual in-game history for the characters involved!
2: Threads that count for history also count for activity! Just like the test drive meme, if the threads count for history, they also count for activity
3: Don't forget the NPC journal! This is a great opportunity to interact with dead/distanced/etc characters that would still be around or would be prominently involved with the history of your characters, and that's what this NPC journal is there for! Use it!
4: Most important - Have fun, you cute little ninja terrors
Kakashi Hatake | Age 5 / Ages 6-9 | Konoha
Kakashi joined the academy at the same time as most of his cohort, but in the space of what is approximately a year (Because Kakashi's genius just won't quit) he graduated the academy as a genin at the age of 5.
At this time he's a reasonably pliant and friendly little boy. He will actually talk to you as long as you talk to him first, otherwise he spends a lot of his time training, studying, reading etc. His pops is still alive and kicking, so his attitude is much more open - but that doesn't mean you'll get any secrets or important information out of him. Sorry all those who wanted some dirt on his older self!
He does read and does like the quiet. He's a little antisocial, which can either come off as him being shy or standoffish, depending on how you take him. He has trouble making friends due to the fact that he's so intelligent, he usually puts people off by being stuck up, or chooses to not affiliate himself with people he considers likely to slow him down.
Having said that, catch him in the right situation or mood and you've got yourself a very excitable and enthusiastic little budding shinobi who will definitely geek out with you about how great it is to be in the academy. He'll laugh and smile too!
Academy #2: Ages 6-9
At age 6, Kakashi gets promoted to chuunin.
It's some time around here that he would inevitably be thrown back into the academy to mingle with his peers - since they would all eventually be his coworkers, and some his team, he'd have to make friends with them or at least get to know their strategies in order to fine tune his own.
He used this time to seriously brush up on his skills, giving him an edge and extra advantage that not many have.
However, because of his furthered level, running around with a lot of academy students as a chuunin put Kakashi even more off making friends, and started to sculpt the douchebag he is in his youth. He's much more opinionated and rude from age 6. If he is disinterested in you or the conversation, he will just leave. He has no problems ignoring people and is very, very aware of how talented and intelligent he is. At this time he can be found usually by himself, usually on paths that people don't take, looking to avoid contact with anyone.
Those that do manage to get close to him are treasured by him, even if he'd never say it out loud. Under the harsh exterior he's the same soft little boy who likes to read and likes the quiet, and likes to see his friends happy. He's just matured an awful lot faster than most of them.
What is childhood? A myth, apparently.
At age 9, his father commits suicide. This is a big staple for Kakashi's psyche. He stops being nice altogether, and stops thinking of the people around him as friends. He cares about nothing but being a textbook shinobi to the best of his heightened abilities. If you run into him at this point, don't be surprised if he's incredibly rude to you.
A little later in that age, he "graduates" to be placed on Team Minato.
