Test Drive Post!
Sunshineverse | ||||||||
Okay everyone, it's time to test some people out! The rules of the game are simple. You have a character you would like to try out as a native to the setting of this game. You want to see if this is the right setting to play said character in, right? Well, then all you have to do is drop them into this post as a top level comment with this as the header: Character name | Series (OC's just put Original here) | Planned Village Affiliation Then you comment around and play with everyone else! If you need some ideas on how to get started, you can drop your character in during the middle of a mission, have them at an eatery around their village, or maybe even just doing weapons practice. It's up to you how you want to set out, so feel free to put your characters in this version of the Naruto universe however it most seems appropriate. Just be sure to say where you put them somewhere in your post though, otherwise two people might not even be threading in the same country. One last thing! Remember that your character was born in this universe, so whatever else you decide, your character is a world native, even if they might be a tourist in the village you decided to test them out on. And that's it. Just be good to each other and have fun! Threads you do here can count toward future activity checks, so long as the person you're threading with gets in too. These threads can also be used for samples on your application.

They'd gone through this before, and while Kisame laughed, it was almost a relief to let the smile fall away. Relaxing. "High praise, coming from you. I'll have to try it."
Without the veneer, his affect was flatter, colder, though the words themselves were still polite enough.

They really didn't talk for long enough at a time to get into it. "Good, I came from just there." He waved over toward the building. "This is my third visit." He paused a moment, then huffed. "I don't see it as rude."

That was said honestly, with mind curiosity, and maybe even a little anticipation of enjoyment in it. Kisame without the smiles was subdued.
The huff actually got something that might be called an honest smile out of Kisame, but it was fleeting. "Ah, you wouldn't, but then you're honest."

It hadn't done much but put him on a close watch for some time, at least publicly. Now that he was in secret Mizukage-sama's personal monster, at least he was at the center of the lies and could see them for what they were instead of lost on the edges and blinded and turned about by them. Not that it made him any happier with the situation, but it kept him from searching out somewhere else to go. Where could he go, really? He was a ninja, and what village would accept him? Where could he find real truth? So he stayed, but he grew more dissatisfied by the year.
"Sometimes, I think it would be better to tear out their lying tongues and force open their eyes, but that would be a long and tedious task, eh?" He said that as if it was a joke, but Kisame knew that Sephiroth knew him and was not afraid--probably at least his equal in a fight, if not more powerful--and on some level he respected the man's honesty more than anyone else, even the Mizukage himself. Saying things like that skirted treason, but Kisame doubted he'd have the will in himself to stop completely.

It was the first time he'd really responded in kind.

"Forcing them to hold still is really only matter of gathering the right materials and timing. It could be done." He didn't even attempt to cover it up with a laugh, though the grin was there, and real enough. The grin of a shark having just found blood in the water.

Not that Kisame could, of course. Genjutsu was his weakest skill, and while he could have probably improved upon it, his disgust with anything like that made it unlikely. On the other hand, he could reluctantly appreciate it for the powerful tool it could be. And, Kisame knew, Sephiroth had pursued the technique to nearly an art-form.
The ideas just beginning to percolate in his head were beautiful, dangerous, and almost definitely over the line into treason. But was it treason to pick apart the ones that had betrayed their very way of life, time and again, for petty concerns or wealth?
"What a way to show the world how useless lies become, in the end. Let them impale on the blades their own false words have forged for them."

"Though It seems unfair to deprive you if I can do the genjutsu."

"But haste can spoil a meal. But now there's some food for thought to enjoy while waiting for a bite for more physical appetites." And if Kisame meant things like bloodlust and the need for adrenalin, well, only he and Sephiroth would know. He could just as easily be talking about the little eatery Sephiroth had pointed out not so long ago.

"And I must complete my mission. We should take the time for a spar when we're both back in Kiri. It's been some time since my skills have been truly put to the test."
There were few that would dare have a knock-down drag-out, bloody spar with him anymore, except some of the other Seven, and even then, Kisame usually had to hold back. He trusted Sephiroth to be able to match him and make him work for every attack connected.

He didn't even try to look guilty that he'd managed to get it bumped up on him a few notches. Then again usually he was the shinobi they sent out on long missions when trying to split up the two of them, so there was that. It seems at the moment they'd reversed it.
"It will be refreshing."

It was time to go, even more-so that they were attracting attention, and no small amount of fear, being two Kiri swordsmen standing and chatting in a street. He wasn't here to inspire terror this mission. So he nodded once to Sephiroth in goodbye and abruptly turned to deliver those documents without a look back. Cheerfully though, because the promise of a fight had his blood singing, not to mention the other things they'd just skirted around discussing.
