Okay everyone, it's time to test some people out! The rules of the game are simple. You have a character you would like to try out as a native to the setting of this game. You want to see if this is the right setting to play said character in, right?

Well, then all you have to do is drop them into this post as a top level comment with this as the header:
Character name | Series (OC's just put Original here) | Planned Village Affiliation

Then you comment around and play with everyone else!

If you need some ideas on how to get started, you can drop your character in during the middle of a mission, have them at an eatery around their village, or maybe even just doing weapons practice. It's up to you how you want to set out, so feel free to put your characters in this version of the Naruto universe however it most seems appropriate. Just be sure to say where you put them somewhere in your post though, otherwise two people might not even be threading in the same country.

One last thing! Remember that your character was born in this universe, so whatever else you decide, your character is a world native, even if they might be a tourist in the village you decided to test them out on.

And that's it. Just be good to each other and have fun! Threads you do here can count toward future activity checks, so long as the person you're threading with gets in too. These threads can also be used for samples on your application.

Truthfully, if their exchange didn't end in her death (he'd prefer it not to, despite what some people thought) he didn't have any interest in taking all of the money she carried. If she were aggressive toward him, however, whatever happened to be in the coin purse would probably suffice as a payment.

Or just the dinner. He didn't mind a dinner for telling a story that would be at least halfway made-up. Her offer being nothing more than it seemed would be a pleasant surprise, however. The life of a rogue-nin (particularly one with, what he'd last glanced, a fifty-million ryo bounty on his head) meant that everything was suspect. Especially overly friendly strangers.

...Then again, maybe he should pass on the invitation entirely. She was a talker, this one.

"Utakata..." He didn't usually worry about giving away his name. Anyone who knew his name would know his face and vice-versa. Anyway, if someone wanted to try to collect their bounty, they were welcome to try. "It's not really rude when there hasn't been an earlier to say it in. We've only just met."

"Utakata-san... I don't think I've heard that name before," It didn't take long for her to take her seat, indicating to the one opposite for him to sit in. Truthfully, she had however -- Kiri had sent out a bounty on his head and he was in the bingo book as an S-ranked defector. She didn't even know why though, and as long as she kept him calm and kept up the civilian guise there probably wouldn't be trouble. She'd have to report his position to the village, though...

"Do you like green teas, Utakata-san? I'm partial to Jasmine myself."

...It would be very unfortunate should those intentions come out. Even if she didn't attack him, if she were intending on revealing his position to that village, he'd be forced to kill her after all. She looked to be about the same age as Hotaru (though it was difficult to tell in her current guise...), and the thought of having to kill her was unpleasant.

"I presume my parents were feeling creative." If they named him at all. Being raised as a ward (a tool, really, nothing more) of the Bloody Mist meant that he had no idea whatsoever what his parents were like. They were probably killed as soon as he was selected as Jinchuuriki just to prevent him from having conflicting loyalties.

He frowned down at her. "...Are you suggesting that hot tea is a hot meal?"

"I think it's a nice name. And no, just to start off with. This place has really good soups and seafoods though, and decent beef and pork vegetable dishes. I haven't tried their tempura or duck yet," Adela shook her head and made herself comfortable in her seat, adjusting her sleeve and her clothes to try and make herself more presentable.

... This kinda felt like some kind of weird date. But still, learning about him...

"I'm headed out west, to my village. I've been on the road for a while, and my family's there waiting for me to get back with trade deals and stories. How about you?"

If it felt like a date, it went completely over his head. That was probably due to the fact that he expected she or some other member of staff to attack at any moment. Perhaps there were some who found that sort of danger romantic and exciting, but he much preferred something quiet and comparatively boring.

"Duck seems excessive for a casual story, don't you think?" Everything she did only served to heighten his suspicion of her. No one was ever this generous and friendly without a reason, and approaching a stranger in the hope of an exciting story wasn't enough of a reason for that.

He huffed after a moment of thought. "I don't have a destination. Like I said, I'm...sight-seeing." Civilians and those sorts did that sort of thing, didn't they?

Her grin broadened and she shook her head, leaning forward to rest her chin on folded fingers as she looked him over once more.

"Please, it's been too long since I've gotten to treat someone to dinner. It's been lonely for me, and hearing someone's stories helps me feel closer to them -- at least that's what I think. I'm serious, order anything you want."

He didn't actually shift where he was sitting, but the way she leaned forward as if studying his appearance still made him uncomfortable. Suspicious, that's what she was.

"You really have chosen the wrong person if you're looking for interesting company..." If she wasn't plotting something, he had the worrying feeling that girls her age might simply be drawn to him for some reason. That was almost as tedious as being constantly hunted.

"If you're so intent, I'd rather have the pork anyway." ...Was she expecting him to launch into a story...? She would be disappointed, if so.

"I think I have to disagree again, Utakata-san. But the only way to prove me long is to let me learn more about you," It was almost a purr then, and she winked briefly before finally paying mind to the server approaching their table. She went for chicken herself with some jasmine tea, letting Utakata get what he wanted out before she turned her attention to him again.

"Maybe you could start with something interesting happening to you recently? If you can, anyway -- I've run into a ton of secretive types and as much as I want to hear it I understand if something is too personal to share."

...What was that? Did she purr at him? And...wink? Oh.

He grimaced in discomfort. Was that the reason this girl insisted on treating him to things and asking him questions? Because that was...unfortunate. He resisted the urge to glance toward the exit, however, because even if the girl was deeply misled about him, she was still providing food, and he was no longer in a situation where he could so easily dismiss an opportunity.

She wanted him to come up with something interesting? "An owl fell on my shoulder as I walked through the forest."

"Seriously? That's got to be some kind of omen, though who knows what," Her laughter was genuine, and she shook her head. She was making him uncomfortable, so probably coming on too strong -- or this guy wasn't interested in that sort of thing at all. Either way, she wasn't going to push him that far or the entire attempt would be fruitless.

"I can't say anything like that's happened to me, at least not with animals. Most of my trips on the road are fairly quiet, almost eerily so. I don't even run into bandits most times."

"Does it?" Given he'd made it up, he had no idea what that sort of thing would mean. Other than trouble, anyway, and he didn't need omens to tell him of that. Except when he was living on the mountain, his life was almost entirely composed of trouble. As was to be expected of the life of a missing nin.

"Maybe you don't look like you have anything to steal." That seemed like the only reason why someone wouldn't be accosted by bandits while traveling alone. When he wore things that indicated he might be hiding valuables (unlike the robes he wore now that appeared to have no such room) he usually needed to dispatch greedy and foolish bandits.
