Test Drive Post!
Sunshineverse | ||||
Okay everyone, it's time to test some people out! The rules of the game are simple. You have a character you would like to try out as a native to the setting of this game. You want to see if this is the right setting to play said character in, right? Well, then all you have to do is drop them into this post as a top level comment with this as the header: Character name | Series (OC's just put Original here) | Planned Village Affiliation Then you comment around and play with everyone else! If you need some ideas on how to get started, you can drop your character in during the middle of a mission, have them at an eatery around their village, or maybe even just doing weapons practice. It's up to you how you want to set out, so feel free to put your characters in this version of the Naruto universe however it most seems appropriate. Just be sure to say where you put them somewhere in your post though, otherwise two people might not even be threading in the same country. One last thing! Remember that your character was born in this universe, so whatever else you decide, your character is a world native, even if they might be a tourist in the village you decided to test them out on. And that's it. Just be good to each other and have fun! Threads you do here can count toward future activity checks, so long as the person you're threading with gets in too. These threads can also be used for samples on your application.

As such, Ami wasn't unused to coming home to find some young lord or another nosing around the store. Politeness and respect for her elders and superiors came much, much easier than amiable feelings towards her peers, so she merely bowed low as she laced into a carefully tailored, tiny apron and climbed up on a stool to man the main display at the counter while her aunt went to negotiate with said young lord's entourage over some bolt of silk or another.
After a brief moment of hesitation, she decided not to risk ignoring the foreigner. He could be speaking rhetorically, but better to be safe than sorry. "Not really, Ouji-sama. The Shopping District is a one-of-a-kind sort of place."

Oh goodness.
Tamaki couldn't help staring a little, feeling a little overwhelmed with the perfect presentation he was witnessing before him. In an instant he was grinning and knelt to look Ami in the eye, practically glowing in the onslaught of cute before him as he asked with a voice lined with silk, "And tell me, milady, what would you recommend from your one-of-a-kind store here? I'm so pleased to speak with someone who clearly knows her way around the fabrics here!"

Ami blinked slowly, forcing down the knee-jerk—or rather, fist-jerk—reaction that popped up, tilting her head as though in thought as she calmed herself down. He probably didn't mean to sound so condescending; between her size and the way she dressed, Ami knew that she must have seemed much younger in her eyes than she actually was. "Auntie knows more," she admitted. "And so does my cousin; he'll be taking over the shop, and I'm going to be a shinobi." She slid off the stool. "But I know enough. We have some custom fabric patterns you might like."
Glancing at him quickly, she moved towards a nearby shelf, and nimbly scaled the side of it using chakra at her fingertips and toes; she had mastered it yesterday, and her teacher told her it was very advanced, even if she couldn't stick a whole foot or hand yet. It didn't last long either, so she quickly grabbed a neatly folded red and gold silk before dropping back to the floor and offering it up to him. "This is called damask."
It had a floral-like overlay and a shine to it. She thought it suited him, somehow.

"Forgive me for not introducing myself sooner. I am Suou Tamaki, of house Suou in Akazaya. May I have the honor of knowing your name in return, little princess?"

"...my mother came from around there." For the first time, something shifted in her large, doll-like eyes; a brief flash of nostalgic warmth. "She came here when she was young, though." She tucked a lock of hair behind her ear, nervously, then looked down again and quickly bowed. "My name is Oyama Ami." Oyama was her Aunt's maiden name, so it had nothing to do with the shop itself, which was her uncle's inheritance. "And... I am not a 'little princess'," she mumbled, fingers curling behind her long sleeves and shoulders inching up.
That's what some of her classmates called her, in reference to the girl as big as a thumb.

"Such a title is one of the few worthy of someone beautiful and talented like you."

...no. He seemed sincere enough.
"Mama looked like a princess though," she conceded after a brief, incredulous silence, trying not to hurt his feelings. "So maybe I will someday too."
