Test Drive Post!
Sunshineverse | ||||
Okay everyone, it's time to test some people out! The rules of the game are simple. You have a character you would like to try out as a native to the setting of this game. You want to see if this is the right setting to play said character in, right? Well, then all you have to do is drop them into this post as a top level comment with this as the header: Character name | Series (OC's just put Original here) | Planned Village Affiliation Then you comment around and play with everyone else! If you need some ideas on how to get started, you can drop your character in during the middle of a mission, have them at an eatery around their village, or maybe even just doing weapons practice. It's up to you how you want to set out, so feel free to put your characters in this version of the Naruto universe however it most seems appropriate. Just be sure to say where you put them somewhere in your post though, otherwise two people might not even be threading in the same country. One last thing! Remember that your character was born in this universe, so whatever else you decide, your character is a world native, even if they might be a tourist in the village you decided to test them out on. And that's it. Just be good to each other and have fun! Threads you do here can count toward future activity checks, so long as the person you're threading with gets in too. These threads can also be used for samples on your application.

"Honest work an' pay," Nori nodded, for all that 'honest' meant to shinobi. The life suited, but he liked working for himself too much. He took the odd assignment when he was desperate for cash, but he didn't trust clients as a general rule- or anyone in this 'business' for that matter. Not healthy.
Which was why he's still got half his attention on the boy. Wouldn't like to hurt him, but can't trust him either, no matter their history or how that friendly smile made him want to go home.
"Set yourself up decent after I left, eh?"

"It's been advantageous."

The second drawer was personnel files on various shinobi, by the looks of it. It was difficult to tell if they were enemies or allies and after another quick look-through, Nori put them back. People had to be in his way before he killed them. He scurried over to the door and listened under the crack for movement, then reached up and locked it. No good against a shinobi worth their rank, but would provide plenty of warning.
He pulled the second drawer out of the desk completely, deciding that since Peter was taking down pictures, he couldn't set everything to right before someone stormed in and started accusing him if Peter managed to slip away in time. Might as well commit to the crime now. Nori withdrew a pair of knives and bent inside the desk, prodding very, very carefully at the bottom of the top drawer, grinned when the flash of a seal appeared and repelled his weapons.
Predictable.
Nori muttered to himself and studied it, formed a few short hand signs and pressed his fingers into the wood. He held his breath, and the seal faded. Pulled himself out of the desk and one expert lockpick later, he was rifling through the contents. He flipped through a small book and with a grunt, tossed it in Peter's direction.
"Found your ledger."

He frowned, then moved across the room, carefully rolling the scroll upward that the other man had been eyeing earlier, then gently taking it down to set to the side.
He made a noise of victory at the seemingly blank wall, then took out a brush from his sleeve and penned a seal over it, making a grid that had been very lightly carved into it flare before showing dull black with his ink over it. Then he reached up to press on the newly revealed panel.
"You don't need to worry so much, no one but whoever you're meeting is going to come."

"Fink I got this old bein' reckless?" Alright, maybe he was still reckless, but it was (usually) well-considered recklessness. "Sides, I don't fink whoever comes through here will be forgivin' this lil raid o' ours."
And a raid it was as Nori's fingers came up with a lovely gold band. A wedding ring, stashed in a top drawer. Well then, he was sure he could find notches in the wood if he looked hard enough.
And that was the door. Nori spared a smile to Peter, raising his fingers in a silent salute. He did wonder who might be behind it and what they might have to offer, but he wasn't sticking around to find out.
"Best be off, then."

"And don't be a stranger, I miss talking to you."
Satisfied, he turned back to fetch his prize so he could be on his way as well.
no subject
"Won't be missin' none o' this then." The thief clambered over the sill. "An' you know how to get 'hold o' me if you need anyfin'."
His name might have changed since then, but he used the same calling card for jobs and the like. "See you 'round, Pete."

Just in case.
