Test Drive Post!
Sunshineverse | ||||
Okay everyone, it's time to test some people out! The rules of the game are simple. You have a character you would like to try out as a native to the setting of this game. You want to see if this is the right setting to play said character in, right? Well, then all you have to do is drop them into this post as a top level comment with this as the header: Character name | Series (OC's just put Original here) | Planned Village Affiliation Then you comment around and play with everyone else! If you need some ideas on how to get started, you can drop your character in during the middle of a mission, have them at an eatery around their village, or maybe even just doing weapons practice. It's up to you how you want to set out, so feel free to put your characters in this version of the Naruto universe however it most seems appropriate. Just be sure to say where you put them somewhere in your post though, otherwise two people might not even be threading in the same country. One last thing! Remember that your character was born in this universe, so whatever else you decide, your character is a world native, even if they might be a tourist in the village you decided to test them out on. And that's it. Just be good to each other and have fun! Threads you do here can count toward future activity checks, so long as the person you're threading with gets in too. These threads can also be used for samples on your application.

He kept his eyes peeled, intending to look as genuinely interested as he was, though he probably looked much closer to anxious what with his small pupils darting around like they were, taking everything in at once. He'd only been in Kiri once for his second attempt at the chuunin exams, and that was some years ago now. He hadn't wanted to take much time out for sightseeing and it wasn't his intention now, but he couldn't deny that it was interesting to be somewhere so startlingly different from the place he called home. Kiri was certainly impressive, he'd give it that, and he wasn't even at the heart of it yet.
At the question, he rotated his shoulder in what could have been a shrug or simply an innocent rearrangement of the brace of scrolls on his back. He wondered how much Kisame knew - and equally, how much he should be telling - but if he was to be successful in both his assigned mission and his personal one, he'd have to learn to be a little less protective and paranoid. He'd find a middle ground, then.
"If the schedule hasn't shifted from what was arranged, I don't have official business till later, right? What do you suggest to keep me entertained till then?"

And with any luck, work would have cleared out and the kid could finish and be on his way. Kisame didn't mind escort duty, but he'd wanted to get more training time in today, and he wasn't going to work on an unfinished jutsu with a foreign audience. Well, if work hadn't cleared out, maybe he could talk the kid into a spar. Sparring never hurt.
"But when we're done with that, there's plenty of places you could eat. Even with the travel seals, it must have taken some time. Are there any foods you hate, kid?"

Kisame's reply prompted a quiet grumble from Kankuro's stomach, and his firm expression twitched with thought. It had indeed taken some time, and punctual as Kankuro always was by trait, in order to stay punctual he hadn't had time for any pit stops.
"Green stuff," he answered simply. "I like meat."

Though honestly, they probably would take his word, but Kisame was hoping his actual presence would make them hurry up a bit. There were some perks to his rank and positions. But the kid didn’t need to know that so he turned his attention to the answer to his question.
“What’s your opinion on fish? Or poultry, actually.” Water Country being an island as it was meant seafood was the most common fare, but there were places to get other kinds of meat. A little pricier, as there wasn’t really anywhere with good conditions for large herds of grazing animals, but poultry might was common enough.

"Yeah, sure."
He preferred red meat, but white was just as good in a pinch -- and Suna's 'pinch' had been months long by this point; there was fast becoming less and less room for preference. As long as he got something substantial in his stomach soon, he'd fair alright.

But food first didn't hurt anyone. "There are a few places here that specialize in poultry. Even red meat, if you're willing to pay the extra expense. How does your palate handle spice?"
Or if the kid didn't answer, Kisame could just take him to his favorite of the lot. Chicken in a clam sauce sounded tasty right now.
