Current status: Training, training, and more training as she's always seeking to become stronger and very set on making jounin this year. Working on her tanuki puppets and taking missions to climb the shinobi ladder. Having social encounters that don't end in passing with Gaara and Temari, which is seeing her realize them more and more as people instead of fellow tools, and you know, actually spend time with them. Mentally, she's continuing to develop questions about tools, people, Suna, other villages, and the world that stir her curiosity and confuse her and she's not sure who to really put them to. She's a ticking time bomb waiting to go off for having been stuck in a nasty emotional cycle since early childhood for Reasons, but she's leaning slightly more middle-ish than danger zone at the moment. Slightly. Strength and power are the keys to acknowledgment and affirmation and bijuu are amazing.
Any current or future plans: The big thing for Kazue right now is getting her to connect to people through consistent socialization, which is usually required for her to humanize over regularly objectifying an individual, so she can hopefully develop into more positive, less socially inhibiting views or, you know, snap, crash, and burn like a beautiful nightmare. On the professional level, she does okay and can be a capable leader depending. Outside of that, all bets are off. She tends to be neglectful of relationships due to her priorities and views being out of whack and can be a total fish out of water when faced with social situations due to a lack of social experience, all of which are things that need fixing and will take time to do so. Speaking of water, I'd love for her to pick up a teacher in water release since it's her true primary and she's mostly been free-styling it in a desert environment, which has done loads for her chakra levels. I'd also like to see her eventually resolve her identities as a proud independent Suna nin and an Uzumaki in the future as well as her whole people-tool issue and broaden her horizons. Otherwise, I'm open to suggestions!
Recent open threads or posts: Nothing at the moment, but I expect to deliver soon! If you want something, ask! I'd be happy to oblige! I'm just wary about throwing up something open with the event in full swing without at least one solid taker.
Desired CR: Friends and positive CR are big on my list for her right now! All the cousins because this girl needs to experience extended family and finally express her curiosity about her clan and hopefully accept that part of herself! Enemies could be fun, but be forewarned that she's intense and a grudger with a good memory. Rivals could be really fun, too, and hopefully a tad positive? She needs patient people in general who are A-okay with either chasing her down or blocking her exits early in the relationship. She thrives with people who push and challenge her. Someone app. her mom.

no seriously what is with her having cr with the suna siblings bar kankuro?? WHAT IS UP WITH THAT?? ARE YOU THREATENED BY HIS PUPPETS???? IS THAT IT????????? (i'm kidding)

real talk, we should have them gather some cr!!! kankuro has every reason to be buds with her given they both have puppet affection in common.. but funnily enough he also has water release? we could discuss something there.
he does a lot of duties in the puppet corps so she might have heard of him/met him on some occasion, but-- as for his personality, he has a lot of his father's qualities in that he's definitely the kind to push and challenge. he likes finding peoples talents and weaknesses and bolstering them accordingly.

(other than that, i also have kiba and kakashi. who are...... marginally less grumpy and hard at it than kankuro is, but would take a little more effort to gain CR. having said that, im ok if you want cr with them too!!)

But more seriously and barring Gir from Invader Zim becoming my inner dialogue voice, clearly this lack of CR needs fixing and I'm in total agreement that they've got good grounds to be buds? I'm also down for that discussion re: water release. Desert kids and water release: the struggle is real... at least until your chakra reserves start to grow and you practice enough to generate large... quantities? But still, no teacher means slower progress and a lot of experimental fumbling.

I think Kaz has been really actively involved with the puppeteer corps since about... twelve, after she made chunin, I wanna say. Her sensei pretty much prodded her into it because GROUP, probably with help from the puppet master she was apprenticed to as a five-year old who she still bugs to this day. So, it's possible they met and had run-ins or more as far back as that or more recently depending on what we want to run with! If he's the sort to push and challenge, they'll get on well, especially if there's consistency with exposure? The trick with Kaz is, again, consistency in socialization so she humanizes you, at which point friending from her end becomes possible. They've gotta hit that mark somehow.

Kankuro just... also has to deal with the fact that her favorite puppets, including the one regularly on her shoulder that is animated as heckie, are intentionally fashioned after Shukaku. Ta... da?

Part of me wonders how Kaz would react to Kiba and Kakashi's ninken and my first image is of her looking both ways to make sure no one's looking and offering them food like some ridiculous little kid that knows she's not supposed to be giving the dogs table scraps. Clearly, they need to meet through their ninken if they do. I'd be game for this. Gimme yo challenges!

growing chakra reserves you say. well, kankuro learnt his water release from his dad, so he's got reasonable enough prowess in it, and being able to train with her would also bump his skills while he bumps hers. TEAM WORK!

NICE, well in this AU kankuro was trained under chiyo so he had a lot of solitary training, but had a lot of involvement in the puppet corps - mostly field training, general skills and, later on, some mentor work.

he is VERY MUCH the type to push challenges, especially when he sees weaknesses/flaws/things to strengthen in people. kankuro is also fearless about social cues and being polite, and is therefore the perfect type to drop in on her at the most inconvenient and often unannounced times to demand to see what she's been up to. i can see him fast becoming something of a mentor-friend to her.
(the shukaku puppets are terrifying at first but.... he also eventually intends to make an actual shukaku puppet so.... B^| GASP maybe she's something of inspiration to him!! that could be cute.)

kakashi is much more likely to have his ninken out, but he was recently gifted a tiny pomeranian that he carries around in his flak......
and kiba has akamaru around constantly, so.
both of these possible dog run-ins are very much possible!

That puppet was like her first puppet and she loves him and he is constantly out and sometimes she auto-emotes through him, so get used it, Kankuro. Get used to it. B]

Let's have all the team work. Just don't tell her to make water without specifying how much or she'll drop an oasis on your head. Or a small lake. Which would be funny. I kind of want to see that now. I need to stop.

This is sounding like an A+++ thing to me. Mentor-friend, yes, and doin' it right as opposed to doing it wrong like her sensei still does to this day and trying to send her off to places to distract her from training and such. (Look, okay, the tanuki is the strongest beast in the desert okay!!!!! And that would be adorable. Help.)

I would love dog run-ins whenever you're game. No pressure on the when, but at some point, yes. Kaz will just slowly offer them food like a little kid. Doggies. u///u

I actually think that could be a good start! With people from other villages, Kazue often wonders how strong they are, so she'd want to see that for herself and that could be a great beginning? I think she'd also be curious because Lee's a taijutsu specialist and that's not something she sees often. Plus, her mom is taijutsu heavy and kind of enthusiastic about it to the point she sometimes expresses herself with it in comical or 'mom no please don't greet me by trying to land a hit on me again' ways, so I'd say we've got potential here!

I also think Lee, being the earnest sort, would just be a really good friend for her. She wouldn't always know what to do with him, especially at the stage she's at right now, but just. I've got a super good feeling about this. Let's do the thing!

*nods* I think we can work with that. :3 Lee will be in Suna sometime in April should she find herself busy until then, but otherwise Lee will be in Konoha this month. If she's visiting after the 14th then he'll definitely have time for her.

Lee's always enthusiastic to meet other taijutsu specialists! They can be energetic hard hitters together!

I'm glad you're interested in Lee! :D He needs more girl friends, and one who could challenge him in a fight and needs some help opening up seems like an enjoyable ride~

Gai can't be her rival, but if she needs a teacher to push or challenge her, Gai might be a good psuedo sensei until she finds her water-jutsu sensei? He isn't actively looking for students, but he might be able to help her socialize in as well as Gai himself socializes, shhh

I'm game for a psuedo sensei! With shinobi from other villages, Kazue is always curious about how strong they are and that presents an opening with her even if she doesn't get the opportunity to test that in that she's attentive and somewhat receptive if her curiosity is piqued. If she's on her way to becoming buddies with Lee, too, she'll be very curious about his sensei, so I think we've got plenty to work with. C'mere, pseudo sensei! Let's socializing!

Water release, you say? Strength and power, you say? Pushing and challenging, also check. Helping her see people as people and not objects, probably not so much, but maybe they can learn to empathize together or something (or not).

So I have no idea how they'd meet initially or consistently but! Hi!

Hi there! All of this sounds great? If empathizing happens, I'll just laugh-cry hysterically because good job, you two. Good job. Better job if it was completely unintentional and there's a 'oh did we do that okay' moment. I will golf clap for them.

As for how they'd meet, that's a good question! It could always be a run-in while traveling, maybe while pausing to train in water release, that gets the ball rolling? Or, if we want to go the more formal route, it's possible, depending on village relations, that Kaz bugged officials to find her a water jutsu specialist to train under and they thought they were being funny by throwing her at the Hoshigakis of Kiri? If he winds up with Kona as a student, I'd laugh if this coincided so Kisame wound up with not one, but two water release types with beastly pools of chakra who arent Hoshigakis. I recall Elle promoting this idea, even, and I'd be game if we were all down with it.

Hahaha probably completely unintentional, because Kisame's track record is awful in that respect.

I love the idea of two students. Kisame would be all "what did I do (this time) to deserve this?!" Also maybe a way to strengthen relations between Suna and Kiri? (Kisame is going to be pushing for an envoy-ship to Konoha solely because he wants to spar with Obito, so it'd be funny if he got saddled with students because "well you pointed out we need better public relations")

I think it would be super interesting to thread, I'm not sure what though. ;v; In a way I think Mika can understand Kazue's social issues as she has a brother who also struggles. So she would likely try to be very motherly. uvu

I'd like to toss them together and see what happens! The key to getting in with Kaz is consistent exposure, so if Mika can keep at it with her, she'll unlock and it'll be possible to get places with her. Idk how she'll take motherly affection since she does have a mom, but we can definitely see what happens. Think she'd be up for it?

we should run some joint Konoha-Suna missions to strengthen the alliance. maybe run shared intel? how close is the Konoha-Sunna alliance anyway, we should find out

I would love a joint Konoha-Suna mission! The country page made it sound like Suna has some longstanding issue with Konoha that's never been resolved. I don't know how Konoha to Suna is and I don't know how Rasa allowing Gaara to visit to help bolster his malleability is being viewed and processed from either side. With reluctance on Suna's part, I think it's been stated? I love politics, though, so I'm all game for asking and seeing what we can do. Kaz has been on at least one, maybe two extended couriers in Konoha before, so she's in the pool of people to send over to Konoha for things, I'd imagine.
