It is time for a CR and plotting meme...which is...basically what it sounds like! Having trouble getting CR for a character? Plotting something for your character and want other people to be involved in it? Not plotting anything but interested in getting involved? This is the meme for you.

It works like so:

Current status: Just returned from a month and a half long trip to Ame after a busy January, so. She's had a busy year. Stuck in Konoha this month, either due to an injury or some security procedure because she's just spent over a month in another ninja village.
Any current or future plans: I'd like to see her get a team to look after, though she'd strongly object to having one yet. I'd love to have her get more opportunities to use her genjutsu to its fullest potential instead of just sprinkling it into things, or to use her kenjutsu, since she has a similar level of skill in kenjutsu as she did with taijutsu in canon. Specifically, I want to see her on a mission where she protects those assigned to her, but at her own personal injury...when getting injured wasn't really necessary. Protective leader + reckless disregard for her own personal safety = consequences. Also, it'd be fun to have her pretend to be a civilian/flex her seductive skills on missions more.
Recent open threads or posts: Just her Ame one, I haven't posted a new one for her yet this month.
Desired CR: Girl needs friends. Particularly ones who can see past her masks, whether through personal experience with her or by finding things out about her that most wouldn't. IDK, man. She just needs more friends, and people who see her as worthwhile. A partner in crime or a rival would be an excellent thing too, actually. She'd do well with a rival.
Undesired CR: It's not undesired, specifically, but anyone who tried to pursue a romance with her would find it really hard to do. She is a senpai that will never notice you unless you come right out and say it, and then she will be confused.

I'd love more CR with Sakura, and kenjutsu could be an avenue! I'm thinking before Kiri possibly implodes, maybe Kisame actually manages to be envoy to Konoha for a bit? Sparring with everybody and their uncle would be on his agenda. He might also be convinced to offer skill evaluations and/or lessons?

That could definitely happen! Sakura is pretty untrusting of Kiri visitors her sensei was a little paranoid about wars, so she might definitely be willing to take an excuse to spar with him and test his strength. She's not likely to ask for or trust any evaluations he gives her, but that's just her. She doesn't believe her own hokage's evaluation of her skills.

Sparring is a good way to test trustworthiness and learn information, in Kisame's opinion. And he also approves of testing strength!

Actually, if she really impressed him, he might hand off one of his older blades as a sign of respect.

It's definitely not a bad way to do it, in her opinion. She's also probably a little curious because she may have heard of the Hoshigaki clan, if not Kisame himself.

She would be...very surprised by this, but kenjutsu is important to her. It would be very well taken care of.

Well, Kisame got himself... fairly well-known during the third-war, and in particular has slaughtered whole Konoha squads in the past so! If Sakura were the kind to look into things, she might know him as either the Monster of Hidden Mist or the Tailless Bijuu. He's also probably one of the more quickly recognized of the Seven Swordsmen outside Kiri. The clan is probably known by name and for their large chakra-reserves, especially if one is interested in bloodlines.

Seeing that her personal blade was well-cared for would be one of the things that would convince him to do it so!

Rin Nohara

Current status: Who knows? Plotting things related to the boyfriends, usually. It's her hobby at the moment, now that she's back in Konoha. She also helps at the hospital. She's stuck in Konoha this month because...reasons. Recently made a snow fort.
Any current or future plans: For Rin? ...Nah, not really. Opportunities to show her competency and skill at medical jutsu would be fun, probably find a way to get her into peril or kidnapped again because that's her lifetime hobby.
Recent open threads or posts: SNOW STRIKE
Desired CR: Possibly CR with the new generation? She's generally good friends with most of the people around her age, but she hasn't had much time to bond with the younger ninja, since she's been in Uzu for the past five years. Befriend her. Let her share embarrassing secrets about the older generation.
Undesired CR: I can't think of much, really. I don't think I'd be interested in making her any enemies. Rin isn't the type to have those.

THAT CAN BE DONE. But would you rather it be assumed they just haven't interacted much because her other teammates took up each other's time, or work out back-dated interactions?

Either works? Just so we have an assumption one way or another to work off as we go forward. So far I've assumed the former, for lack of anything better to go from, and because they seem to be mostly just peripherally familiar with each other.

Well in anime canon they went on some missions together during the time frame Obito would have been recovering in Konoha, so that's probably a solid...maybe...as far as that goes.

She's spent the last five years out of the country but that's like...twelve..years that she'd have still been around after the Kannabi Bridge Incident where they definitely didn't know each other yet? It might be easiest just to assume that they knew each other but only as working associates and go from there, though.

Fair enough. I haven't seen all the anime filler episodes as far as their backstory goes, so working associates was about as much as I was assuming, since I don't really know much about her and Gai interacting based on what I have seen of their canon. No offense to Rin, but she was probably as much on Gai's radar as Obito was when they were kids...which is to say he said hi and then demanded a challenge from Kakashi. Silly Gai only had eyes for Rivalry.

There's barely anything because Rin, who is that? Some girl Obito likes??? That chick Kakashi killed? IDK? but they got one mission where she saves Kakashi and Gai's hides at least.

Nah, it makes sense, Gai probably wasn't someone Rin spent a lot of mental time and effort on either, because she's very very focused on her friends and teammates. I can see them being essentially just associates who were both way more focused on the same other people than each other.

Canon: Fushigi Yuugi
Current status: STUCK IN THE WRONG BODY. THIS BODY IS A MESS. And then trapped in Noodles for the rest of the month afterward because of crazy security panic due to the bodyswap. Business almost as usual, really. He gets into a lot of trouble for a daimyo.
Any current or future plans: Making more friends, doing some diplomatic things that will actually have some bearing on world politics. Learning to knead chakra so he can unlock his bloodline limit and be more useful in fighting situations.
Recent open threads or posts: Nah.
Desired CR: Friends! Poor boy needs more frands. And some people willing to actually mentor him and support his dream of being a ninja. Maybe other people who deal with similar responsibilities as him who can understand what he goes through. People who are terrible influences and help him sneak out and do things, people who respect his skills. Rivals. Potentially enemies of he or Noodle. People who don't really like him but are forced to respect his position. Etc.
Undesired CR: I can think of very little. Romance is pretty much out of the question for him though, as much as he'd probably be easy to woo, you'd be signing up for some serious angst in the form of his ideal woman holding the majority of his heart already who he hasn't met yet.

There's not a wealth of Hotohori related gifs out there...

I have one (1) shinobi kid who would think Hotohori's country is like the best country ever because he loves noodles. He loves soba especially and claims it cures depression. He also plays at being utterly ridiculous and ostentatious, but he's actually very, very insidious and I could see him having a mind to make nice with a daimyou just in case it lends itself well to him in the future. If it happens they actually hit it off well on a genuine level, well, he wouldn't complain about that at all.

I could also see him encouraging and enabling Hotohori to sneak out and do shinobi things like the most irresponsible little brat, but keeping a close eye on him like he's totally got this.

The only question is how much his age would get in the way if it would and how they'd meet, I think, if you're game for this CR!

This one kid will immediately earn the lord of Noodles' approval because noodles are the best thing ever. Soba noodles are one of the land's specialties, and he will happily treat this shinobi kid to them.

It's sadly not hard to make nice with this daimyo, he's very attention deprived. He's probably too young for the counselors in the castle to officially recognize him as a tutor (national pride and all) but Hotohori would likely just choose to hang out with him and be willing to learn things anyway.

Well, bear in mind Hotohori himself is only 20 (almost 21 now). He acts and appears much older than he really is. He's liable to end up acting like something of an older brother figure toward Masanori when he's not in some ninja-situation, I think. As for how they'd meet, perhaps when Hotohori is visiting Konoha at some point?

Masanori can deal with an older brother figure and titles and official recognition, while fun and definitely something he'd puff his chest about, aren't a necessity. Meeting when Hotohori is in Konoha sounds A+++ to me. I AM EXCITED FOR THE THING!!!!!

In fairness, any time he gets a mission with Hotohori he'll be paid well! But as a genin it's not likely he'll be able to get many official ones, since missions involving politicians doing anything other than groceries or retrieving their pets are usually automatically bumped up to B-rank.

Also Shisui's his teacher, right? Shisui and Hotohori cannot stand each other--

Giving him incentive to hurry up and hit chunin so he can do more in the process is what this sounds like. The more involved he can get, the better, after all. :D

Annnnd Shisui is his teacher and I'm just sitting over here cackling with my muse because whoops? Whoops. Didn't even do this one intentionally!

Exactly! He shall encourage young shinobi to excel, since his nation can't currently cultivate its own! It's the second best thing he can do next to raising his own.

Hahaha, it's okay. It's possible Shisui may have almost caused an international incident once. (He's very jealous of Hotohori's beautiful hair)

Well, Hotohori's hair is pretty amazing. Masanori will reassure Shisui that his own downy fluff is still bound to win the ladies over once he reels them i -- and this is why I wind up apologizing for this kid. All the time and forever.

Oh. Did you need a rogue thief to play with Hotohori? Not sure how well they'd get along, but if by making friends with a minor country, Nori could find out some interesting intel about border tensions and stuff, he'd make nice well enough. Maybe even mentor him a bit if he's feeling generous and/or it seems a good trade?

Idk just random ideas! I want Nori in everyone's business.
