Okay everyone, it's time to test some people out! The rules of the game are simple. You have a character you would like to try out as a native to the setting of this game. You want to see if this is the right setting to play said character in, right? Well, then all you have to do is drop them into this post as a top level comment with this as the header: Character name | Series (OC's just put Original here) | Planned Village Affiliation Then you comment around and play with everyone else! If you need some ideas on how to get started, you can drop your character in during the middle of a mission, have them at an eatery around their village, or maybe even just doing weapons practice. It's up to you how you want to set out, so feel free to put your characters in this version of the Naruto universe however it most seems appropriate. Just be sure to say where you put them somewhere in your post though, otherwise two people might not even be threading in the same country. One last thing! Remember that your character was born in this universe, so whatever else you decide, your character is a world native, even if they might be a tourist in the village you decided to test them out on. And that's it. Just be good to each other and have fun! Threads you do here can count toward future activity checks, so long as the person you're threading with gets in too. Shisui winced. "Right. I'll just be here." Or upstairs, getting the antibiotic cream--whichever would get him in less trouble. Just in case, he shuffled away from Itachi.

Itachi groaned and rolled over, laying on his back with the arms outstretched. The dizziness would fade soon. Hopefully.

Shisui sighed and considered Itachi. Shisui was an inch or so taller than him, definitely heavier, but there were similarities. Coloring, cheekbones, wiry build that was better for speed... Really just Uchiha-based similarities. He could say the same (and more) about any other Uchiha. But this brat happened to be his best friend, as much as he cared about the rest of them. Of course, that had nothing to do with appearance, just the fact that Shisui had been a handy family member to watch over a toddler Itachi and try to keep him from dying or getting hurt or harassing their aunt's cat.

Shisui shook his head with a grimace. He was going senile--twenty-four and thinking about his long gone past.

"Shit, Ita, in a couple of months I'm going to be halfway to thirty."

Itachi cracked an eye open, twisting his head to look at Shisui. "....you'll be more like halfway to forty-nine, Shi." Sometimes Shisui did not make the most sense.

"I know," Shisui sighed. "I'm going senile."

"Considering how many concussions you've had, that just might be true." Itachi doubted it, or maybe less doubted more very much hoped Shisui was just having a bad moment. Itachi slowly sat up. Nothing spun so he rolled up to his feet.

"You're not old, Shisui." Fugaku was old, or even the Yondaime.

Shisui stuck his tongue out at Itachi, but followed him up by bracing his hands on his knees. "I feel old, but I guess my joints aren't cracking yet." He knew of people's who did. At the same time...

He'd always been perplexed that he'd survived past twenty. Almost five years later, he wasn't any less startled than before. Shisui shook his head.

"C'mon, there's antibiotics waiting for you."

"I should hope so as that's what you went to get..." Itachi trailed after Shisui. "I feel old whenever I realize how old Sasuke's gotten." For some reason he always pictured Sasuke as a chubby little kid, and then realized he'd suddenly and definitely grown up.

"Or on cold mornings when my hands hurt." His hands did a lot of aching lately, but he had no reduced movement, so he doubted it was serious.

"If not, you can beat me for dragging you all the way here for nothing!" Shisui turned to smile at him, and then sighed, walking towards the stairwell backwards. "Soon enough he'll be getting someone pregnant, or whatever the right of passage into manhood is supposed to be for that generation." That was the moment he tripped on the stairs and fell down onto his butt, which might have been karma. He tilted his head up to look at Itachi.

"We should move south--then you wouldn't have to worry about the cold mornings."

Itachi stared at Shisui, shocked his cousin had just fallen down like that and a little terrified of the suggestion that Sasuke might get someone pregnant. Surely he was still too young for that. Or too busy honing his skills as a ninja. Surely no one would have to worry about that for a few more years.

"I'm not ready to be an uncle."

One part of him was far too amused at Itachi's face of horror, but the other part was too busy standing up and backtracking.

"Hey--Itachi--Itachi, I was just making a bad joke. A really bad joke, 'kay? I doubt Sasuke will father anything until he's thirty and we're old and wrinkly." Agh he'd broken his cousin. He reached for Itachi's good hand.

"I'm a dumb idiot. I'm sorry."

Itachi nodded mechanically. "He's too young to be thinking about things like that, right?" Itachi gave Shisui's hand a reassuring and possibly bone breaking squeeze. Teenaged girls were obsessed with boys, but it wasn't teh other way around, right?

And teenagers brains were practically designed to make bad decisions. They had all those hormones and loose emotions and faulty logic.

"Ow--yeah." Ow. He gave Itachi a tug, and then started herding him up the stairs. "Males are much, much more immature than females." And Itachi had apparently never had much of a sex drive as a teenager, and Shisui was not going to think about that.

Immature meaning they lacked the reasoning capabilities of girls their age. Itachi blinked. Someone had probably talked to Sasuke about safe sex, right? Itachi had gotten lectures from his gennin instructor, they were more aimed at his older teammates, but Itachi didn't remember his parents talking to him about it. Should he talk to Sasuke?

No, that would end horribly.

"Maybe you should talk to him about it."

Shisui hesitated, then nodded. Kakashi wouldn't have said anything to anyone. Ass. "I can do that..." He tugged Itachi a little further to his apartment--second floor, high enough to trap without endangering civilians, low enough it wouldn't be fatal if he went flying out the window--and let Itachi's hand go to dig for his key.

Itachi nodded, trusting that Shisui would do what was best. He was good with things like that. Itachi absently grabbed the back of Shisui's shirt, glancing around to make sure there was no one around. When he didn't see anyone he thumped his forehead into Shisui's shoulder.

Shisui made a noise under his throat, waiting until he got the door open and shuffled them inside to turn and press his face into his cousin's hair.

"Hey." I missed you during your mission. Hey, I love you. Hey, let's go sit down.

Itachi made an appropriate greeting like noise and leaned into the pressure, perfectly still and almost blissful for the ridiculous reason Shisui was close.

"Hey yourself," Itachi murmured back, stepping away. "Where's the antibiotic ointment you were harping on?"

"You know, you suggested it." Still, Shisui moved to go pick up the first aid kit from under his coffee table. Flopping down to his butt, he rummaged through it before pulling out some cream and offering it to Itachi.

Itachi moved to sit down beside Shisui, sprawling his legs comfortably. Instead of taking the cream, he offered out his hand to Shisui with a smirk.

"How do you know where my hands have been?" Shisui asked, but crossed his legs, put Itachi's hand on his knee and squirted a liberal amount of cream onto his own finger, to gently apply to Itachi's wound. He'd done things like that too many times to be bad about it. Point for him.

"If your hands had been somewhere likely to cause infection, then you would have washed them, because for some reason, you're concerned about me getting gangrene," Itachi explained patiently before looking up at Shisui with crooked grin. The tickling sensation of Shisui pressing the cream into the wound was soothing.

Shisui made a face at Itachi, but finished up without speaking and wiped the leftovers on Itachi's pants.

"You won't get gangrene. Life is good." Shisui nodded, pleased with himself, and shoved the first aid kit back under the table.

"You're so mature." Itachi looked at the greasy smear on his pants and wondered if he had a pair of clean pants stashed at Shisui's. Shisui's pants were generally too big and too long. Itachi looked at his hand.

"You should have put something on the cut so I don't get antibiotic cream everywhere." Itachi gave Shisui a reproachful look. Didn't he know anything?

"...what on earth could you do with your hand to make it go everywhere?" Still, Shisui dragged the first aid kit back out, pulled out a layer of gauze and medical tape. "Okay, give me your hand, oh helpless one."
