Okay everyone, it's time to test some people out! The rules of the game are simple. You have a character you would like to try out as a native to the setting of this game. You want to see if this is the right setting to play said character in, right? Well, then all you have to do is drop them into this post as a top level comment with this as the header: Character name | Series (OC's just put Original here) | Planned Village Affiliation Then you comment around and play with everyone else! If you need some ideas on how to get started, you can drop your character in during the middle of a mission, have them at an eatery around their village, or maybe even just doing weapons practice. It's up to you how you want to set out, so feel free to put your characters in this version of the Naruto universe however it most seems appropriate. Just be sure to say where you put them somewhere in your post though, otherwise two people might not even be threading in the same country. One last thing! Remember that your character was born in this universe, so whatever else you decide, your character is a world native, even if they might be a tourist in the village you decided to test them out on. And that's it. Just be good to each other and have fun! Threads you do here can count toward future activity checks, so long as the person you're threading with gets in too. These threads can also be used for samples on your application.

"Yup." Shisui nudged the ball with a foot back to the little boy who was chasing it, and smiled at him. The kid smiled, considered the old man, and then went running off before anything could be said to bind him to the unusual pair who were standing in the middle of the road.
"Of course, in the old times they would run over the old lady. And you." He put two fingers on Kagami's elbow, less like a guide, more like an impatient nudge from a small child. Not that anyone who wasn't Kagami would know that! "Wanna stop blocking traffic before we really get hit?"
no subject
This 'old man' smiled at the kid, too. Look, he used to remind him a lot of you, Shisui. Only Kagami wouldn't have let you play in the middle of the road. And hey-- "You think I'm old and frail, Shisui?" Did he just take offence? He might have. The upside-down smiley was a big hint in case you were looking for one. That old lady was almost dying, okay? You didn't compare the two.
"What--" What was that thing about old people? Oh yeah, they were stubborn. Stop trying to rescue him, boy. "What is your hurry? I was thinking of getting us some cabbage for dinner anyway." Shooting Shisui a look here. "Dinner at my place tonight, by the way. Cancel all your appointments."
And there, finally, he steps away, though he really doesn't make any effort to shrug Shisui off.

Shisui sighed and lowered his hand. "No, father, but the idea was that if you didn't move out off the way no matter who you were, you'd get plastered. You'll be memorialized as a smear on the cobblestones." Shisui let his hand fall to his side when his father stepped, and moved after him. He was a few inches taller than the other man--as he'd grown, his father seemed to shrink.
"Then let's stop the man for cabbage by asking--" Shisui didn't make a face, but he'd intended to eat with Itachi tonight... "Think we can invite Itachi? He likes cabbage..."
no subject
"You really think I am incapable of fending for myself, Shi?" That was a difficult concept to get used to, and he didn't think he'd ever will. Who was the parent here? Who was supposed to be looking out for their son? And who was the one rubbing it in his face that he would get run over by a damned cabbage cart?
One wave at the cabbage guy and the cart stopped, but he did glance at his son when he'd suggested Itachi join them. "Ah. Yes, why not? You know Itachi doesn't need an invitation, Shisui; he's welcome any time." Kagami almost reached back for his son's hand, though...
Kagami's adorable.
And then he shrugged, feeling very much like a sullen teenager. His father had that effect on him. "Maybe you wanted me for dinner, alone?" That hadn't happened for years, since the last time Shisui had seriously screwed up and the family's feathers were all in a ruffle...
well so is Shi |D
"I've wanted many things, Shisui." And now his tone had dropped to something quiet. The man who owned the cart was showing them some freshly picked cabbages, and Kagami picked out a few. "It would be nice to have you over for dinner sometime. Maybe stay a day or two. But that's up to you, and you don't have to ask, you know that, don't you?"
As for whatever Shisui did-- Kagami held no grudges. He was the last man to ever hold a grudge, really.
Father like son?
"Yeah--yeah, dinner sounds nice. You can..." Shisui hesitated, mostly because he took to cooking like ducks to oil. Not well and usually leaving a disgusting mess. "We could go out to eat tomorrow night--I have a week long mission afterward, so..." It would be an okay goodbye. He rolled his weight and smiled, putting a hand out in an offer to carry the bags.
fluffy genes, in every sense of the word
But he had to consider the option of eating out versus eating in. Kagami rarely ever ate out; it was never the same without Torifu in the picture. So that smile he was wearing just then? It faltered."...If you say so," he mumbled, about to give Shisui the bags, but stopping halfway to look at him. "Were you going that way? If not, you don't have to trouble yourself."
no subject
"No, don't be silly, dad," Shisui protested, and took the bags from him. "Let's go!"
no subject
But, ah-- Shisui had already taken the bags from him. Kagami said nothing for the moment, merely following Shisui's lead. He really didn't want his son to feel forced into visiting the family home, and somehow, every day, it was beginning to feel more and more like he was making the young man uncomfortable. "What about your plans with Itachi? This won't delay them?" He'd guessed that Shisui probably had plans with Itachi if he'd suggested the other shinobi accompany him for dinner.
no subject
He shook his head. "We were just planning to mess around and be useless--dinner's awesome!" He grinned at Kagami, falling into step next to him. "He'll probably be glad to not have to walk so far from the compound." Sometimes Itachi would come straight from a mission to his apartment, but there were no missions today--just sweet relaxation.
