Test Drive
Sunshineverse | ||||||||
Okay everyone, it's time to test some people out! The rules of the game are simple. You have a character you would like to try out as a native to the setting of this game. You want to see if this is the right setting to play said character in, right? Well, then all you have to do is drop them into this post as a top level comment with this as the header: Character name | Series (OC's just put Original here) | Planned Village Affiliation Then you comment around and play with everyone else! If you need some ideas on how to get started, you can drop your character in during the middle of a mission, have them at an eatery around their village, or maybe even just doing weapons practice. It's up to you how you want to set out, so feel free to put your characters in this version of the Naruto universe however it most seems appropriate. Just be sure to say where you put them somewhere in your post though, otherwise two people might not even be threading in the same country. One last thing! Remember that your character was born in this universe, so whatever else you decide, your character is a world native, even if they might be a tourist in the village you decided to test them out on. And that's it. Just be good to each other and have fun! Threads you do here can count toward future activity checks, so long as the person you're threading with gets in too. These threads can also be used for samples on your application.

It really just happened and so did this.
Her eye twitched again, and she stared for a bit before something quite unexpected happened; she was some distance away, her head hung and the hand not holding her Takoyaki clinging to the wall as she went into a depressed (and rather loud) stupor. Why?
"I don't believe it... The Legendary Tsunade isn't supposed to be this uncool, I thought she'd be an older wiser woman than this..."
poor kid. her idol is a rude, petty drunk.
Thankfully for the kid and everyone else in the vicinity, Tsunade chose the latter.
"One of the things you learn when you grow up, kid, is that you're always just as dumb as you were when you were younger, just in different ways," Tsunade commented, the bitter words somewhat off-set by her flippant tone. "Wisdom is for white-beards and idiots."
Yes, yes she is.
"Here," That last word was mumbled before she started to walk away, thinking over that awful realization that Tsunade was a bitter and petty woman who she wanted to be like. Maybe she was lying about her identity, who knew. Either way, she wanted to blow off some steam and maybe she'd just... Be a better ninja than Tsunade?
Well, she could try. Maybe. She wouldn't just flick people because of stupid reasons anyway.
and then, a (probably faint) flicker of hope
"Alright, come on," she scooped up the takoyaki, stuffing it in her mouth and walking to catch up to the kid. "There's a place not far from here where I used to train with my team." She clapped her hand on the girl's shoulder, a little too hard to be entirely friendly, but not so hard it broke anything (that would be a little too rude even for Tsunade). "You're gonna show me what kind of kunoichi Konoha is training these days."
Haha it turned cute when it could have been so terribad I love it
It took a bit longer, but as they moved she finally did answer Tsunade's question, "Milani. Adela Milani."
narutoverse: just when it seems grimdark, cute things happen
"It's just up here," she pointed, bittersweet memories coming to the fore when she remembered hiding behind this tree, sparring with that battered training dummy. (It probably wasn't the same one, but it represented all the training dummies she'd shattered while training with Team Hiruzen.)
Shoving the memories down, Tsunade flooded her limbs with chakra. She didn't activate any of her usual battle precautions except that one; there was no way the kid was good enough to need Kage-killer levels of defenses.
"C'mon," Tsunade invited, shrugging off her coat and hanging it on a nearby branch. "Come at me."
Gotta love it!
So she was sparring against a legendary ninja. It would be better to hold nothing back, in that case.
She took a calming breath, relaxing her body before minutely focusing her chakra and forming hand seals. That was before she started spitting a long stream of fire at Tsunade, knowing that it wouldn't be even close to fatal for the other woman but at the same time aware that she couldn't hold back if she wanted to test herself against a legendary Kunoichi. Maybe she had a crappy personality, but if she could live up to the hype...
awww, what a cutie. she wants to believe in her idol
She darted forward, aiming for Milani's solar plexus. If the kid fell to a blow like this (half-power, half-speed, and telegraphed to Kiri and back), she'd be disappointed.
Hee even better that her idol cares enough to try and live up to show why she's a legend!
Forget testing strength. She couldn't afford to do that.
Several shuriken were whipped out of her pouch and flung towards her, a basic technique as she used her speed to dart through the trees for cover. They started to have paper bombs attached at some point - low impact ones, since it was a sparring match - but eventually they stopped entirely. In the underbrush, Adela formed the seals for Earth Seal: Double Suicide Decapitation and took a breath as she went underground, focused on Tsunade's position and planning on surfacing a few feet behind her. Hopefully she could make it there before she had to surface for air, or worse.
more like, she doesn't want to dash some poor kid's dreams. same results, though.
"Here's a tip, kid," Tsunade announced, closing her eyes for a second to concentrate. There! The kid's chakra signature blended into the earth a little, but that was definitely it. "Know your enemy." When Adela popped out of the ground, Tsunade turned and tapped her heel on the ground, sending cracks radiating throughout the earth. "All Senju are sensors!"
She reached down into the ground, aiming for the kid's elbow, with the intent of yanking her up.

But, she did still have jutsu.
The shock on her face flowed into a grin before her left hand started forming seals and she formed chakra - right up until the ground beneath them turned to sand and started sucking them both in.
"I could say the same for you!"
[[OoC: To explain: Adela is from the east and she does have a kekkei dota; Kouton (Metal Style), which is essentially a set of jutsu that allows her to manipulate metal that she already has on hand. It is a combination of fire, earth, and water chakra in order to form Kouton. Within Konoha she's also learned how to use one-handed seals for nature manipulation, therefore allowing her to pull crap like this when she needs to.]]

"Good tactics; immobilizing a stronger opponent," Tsunade said approvingly. "Against anyone but me, it might have worked."
She sent the electricity into Adela's body, shaping it to form her purposefully not-famous Ranshinsho*.
[OOC: Ranshinsho: Body Pathway Derangement, first seen in the Tsunade/Jiraiya/Naruto/Shizune v Orochimaru/Kabuto fight in Naruto's original series.]

She hauled her up through the sand, then laid her out on the ground. Carefully, Tsunade withdrew the electrical field of her technique, calling medical chakra into her hand to make sure Adela's nerve pathways were recovering properly.
"Talk to me," Tsunade commanded, when the check seemed to come back clean.

She was okay, save for maybe a little damaged pride. Then again, she just got to spar with Tsunade and that in itself was amazing. It'd be stupid to think she could win, or even put up that much of a fight yet.

She stood, brushing sand and dirt off her knees. Her haori was only a few steps away, and she shrugged it on, rolling her shoulders to get it to settle correctly.
"I'm due at the hospital," Tsunade explained, watching Adela to make sure there weren't any stealthy after-effects from her technique. "Next time I'm in Konoha, though, you'll have to show me what you've learned."

Maybe Tsunade was rude, but she was still really cool. And still a legend. Maybe next time there'd be less flicking, though.
