Okay everyone, it's time to test some people out! The rules of the game are simple. You have a character you would like to try out as a native to the setting of this game. You want to see if this is the right setting to play said character in, right? Well, then all you have to do is drop them into this post as a top level comment with this as the header: Character name | Series (OC's just put Original here) | Planned Village Affiliation Then you comment around and play with everyone else! If you need some ideas on how to get started, you can drop your character in during the middle of a mission, have them at an eatery around their village, or maybe even just doing weapons practice. It's up to you how you want to set out, so feel free to put your characters in this version of the Naruto universe however it most seems appropriate. Just be sure to say where you put them somewhere in your post though, otherwise two people might not even be threading in the same country. One last thing! Remember that your character was born in this universe, so whatever else you decide, your character is a world native, even if they might be a tourist in the village you decided to test them out on. And that's it. Just be good to each other and have fun! Threads you do here can count toward future activity checks, so long as the person you're threading with gets in too. "An I'm tellin' you that if you try an shortchange me, yer gonna lose a couple o' fingers."

The man glowered, and Nori turned a knife over end between his fingers and let his smile stretch across his lips with a few more teeth than strictly necessary. The caravan's stopped for a break, and it was a good time as any to sort out the kinks regarding his end of the deal.

"Now listen here, you pint-sized-"

Nori shushed him and sobered, sharp eyes picking up an approaching shadow. Thankfully his 'conversation partner' was more puzzled than angry and didn't take advantage of his distraction. Bit slow on the uptake, that one. Not that he'd manage to do much even if he had..

The shadow resolved itself into a tall blonde wearing Lightning's insignia, and Nori's sharp smile returned.

"Well if it ain't our esteemed escort." The knife slipped up his sleeve and he patted his fellow merchant on the back in a show of solidarity. "Just talkin' shop, but I'd say we're done now, eh?"

Given that his family roots are as much in trade as in ninja business, Kanji's seen plenty of shop talk in his time. Plenty of shouting in the process, too.
Still, he's not being paid to give them his opinion on business practice's; he's here to keep nastiness off them on their travels.

As such, he looks between the pair, simply asking with a raised eyebrow: "Everythin' good, then?"

Nori found himself on the end of a particularly dark look, but his smile didn't falter in the slightest. He watched the man grumble and cast the same look at Kanji before meandering off- probably conspire against him, but he could handle that later. Their escort might just have signed up for more than he was being paid for. Nori being a mercenary himself (and part-time merchant/smuggler) didn't accompany the average caravan out of the goodness of his heart, after all.

"Yep, I'd say so." The truth of that had yet to be seen, but worst-case scenario, well.. Nori made a show of slapping his gloved hands together. "Anyfin' I can do fer ya, Master Swordsman?"

Master Swordsman? Hah, hardly. Young, talented, dedicated - a long way off any sort of mastery. But the comment would, at least, get a faint smile for a split second - it'd be nice to be able to call himself that, after all.

"Just checkin' up on what's happenin'," he replied, simply, looking at the other departing. Yeah, someone didn't look happy. "Everythin' looks clear. When're we movin' on?"
