Test Drive Post!

Sunshineverse
Okay everyone, it's time to test some people out! The rules of the game are simple. You have a character you would like to try out as a native to the setting of this game. You want to see if this is the right setting to play said character in, right?

Well, then all you have to do is drop them into this post as a top level comment with this as the header:
Character name | Series (OC's just put Original here) | Planned Village Affiliation

Then you comment around and play with everyone else!

If you need some ideas on how to get started, you can drop your character in during the middle of a mission, have them at an eatery around their village, or maybe even just doing weapons practice. It's up to you how you want to set out, so feel free to put your characters in this version of the Naruto universe however it most seems appropriate. Just be sure to say where you put them somewhere in your post though, otherwise two people might not even be threading in the same country.

One last thing! Remember that your character was born in this universe, so whatever else you decide, your character is a world native, even if they might be a tourist in the village you decided to test them out on.

And that's it. Just be good to each other and have fun! Threads you do here can count toward future activity checks, so long as the person you're threading with gets in too. These threads can also be used for samples on your application.

Shisui Uchiha | Naruto | Konoha

It's the wrong time of year for Shisui to be walking around the village in civvies. It's even more strange to see him emerge from that shady part of the village that no one really likes to talk about. Rumors have it that it's a red light district operating on the down-low. Apparently it comes with the whole package, which includes the narcotics rings and any other stereotypical shady business on the list of shady businesses. But the odds were that they were just insubstantial rumors.

However, the rumors might seem to be a notch less insubstantial than they should be for Shisui if it meant he was making an effort to be as discreet as he possibly could.

The bottom line was he didn't want to be questioned about whether he was having trouble finding a girlfriend.

Technically, Ami knew better than to even skirt that area, even though she could more than handle herself in a fight. Masanori would likely begin wailing and generally making a nuisance of himself if he heard even a whisper of her presence in the area, moaning and carrying on about her being, in his own words, 'pedo-bait'. He was unreasonable, but... sincere in his worry. It was part of why she had privately vowed never to tell him about her brief kidnapping by human traffickers.

It didn't matter now, anyways. Sensei had saved her, and killed the men who took her.

She paused, the delivery that brought her this way finally finished, when she exited a shop and saw the man himself walking. "...Uchiha-sensei?"

oh no caught by his own student

Sensei.... Sensei??

He didn't need to be told twice to know that he had been spotted by Ami.

In a place like this.

In civilian clothes.

Looking extremely suspicious for all the above reasons.

"Ami?" Surprisingly, his voice was calm, and he almost patted himself on the back for not flinching. "What are you doing here?" He should have known not to ask such an obvious question that would lead him to be answering the same. But it was too late now. The words had already left him. He might as well attempt small talk until he could find the perfect opportunity to shunshin to a more respectable part of town.

"I was dropping off a bolt of cloth somebody ordered," she said, hooking a thumb over her shoulder towards the shop she had just exited. "I think they're making a banner."

She padded over to him, her blank expression brightening a small fraction. "I didn't know you were back from your mission already." I missed you, she didn't say, but some of the sentiment bled into her large green eyes.

[personal profile] shxsui 2015-04-24 01:32 am (UTC)(link)
Oh. She was not going to ask him what he was doing here? Perhaps she already assumed he was up to no good? That was his guilty conscience speaking, even though he never had anything to feel guilty about. The circumstances were suspicious. That was all.

"Physically, yes," he tells her. "But I am technically still at work." His reasons for frequenting this part of town weren't so unsavory after all. Still, he glances off in the direction she had just pointed to him, as if to ensure that her intentions for visiting the area left nothing to raise any hint of concern.

When he looks back to her, he returns that unspoken sentiment in her eyes with a smile and a gentle squeeze to her shoulder. "It's... looking to be quite a long mission." This time he sounds apologetic.
thelittleprincess: (Wha—?!)

She had thought about it, briefly, but she wasn't Masanori; Ami was far more inclined to believe the best of their instructor and his business in the area, rather than leap to the more wild or inappropriate conclusions. Besides; she had a deep admiration for the Uchiha and the Military Police that had taken root at an early age. He surely had a good reason for being here, like she did.

"I see," she said, tilting her head to one side. "I... hope I didn't get in your way?" Was she interrupting his mission, even now? Should she have not approached him?

2ish, I guess.

It's been months it seems since she'd last seen or even spoken to Shisui. Actually, if she stopped to take an accurate count it's probably been closer to a year. Not since their fail-date. She'd noticed of course, but she tried not to let it bother her. Tried not to take it personally, people came and went all the time, and while she'd thought that maybe they could have developed a friendship maybe the lack of further communication was meant to indicate he didn't feel the same. Or maybe he'd just gotten caught up in missions. Anything was possible.

So when she saw Shisui approaching her as she was walking on one of the few opportunities she got to wander, Hinata took a deep breath to calm the nerves trying to climb up her spine. He was just a person, a fellow shinobi of the village, saying hello would not be out of place. As she got closer she waved, a warm smile on her face. "Ah hello Shisui-san."

hopefully this doesn't come off as very awkward...

He had been busy. Extremely busy. He had even acquired two new genin, and one of them had proven to be more than a handful. On top of that, there were all those missions. Before he knew it, a year had gone by.

But she was not the only one finding it difficult to keep the butterflies down.

"Hinata-san." It's easier to smile when she was smiling, though it did nothing to calm the butterflies in his tum. "It's been a while! Too long. What's going on?" With you. What's going on with you.

he's such a derp it's perfect

Her smile widens at his was greeting. Maybe he had just been busy, and that was okay. She couldn't fault him for that, so many of the Uchiha were sought after for many of the high rank missions. Lord knew she barely saw Sasuke and he was her genin teammate and best friend.

"It's alright, you've been busy I imagine," she says softly with a hint of a forgiveness underlying her words. "Training and clan things. I think Sasuke is on a mission. Obito got engaged to Maito Gai." She pauses touching her index finger to her mouth as she thinks of other important events around the village. Trying to sort out what Shisui might already know and what he doesn't.

She wasn't unaware of the reputation of the section of town, but she didn't put much weight to it. Civilian problems were their own, and most shinobi had better things to do than spend their time and money on such things.

So, while Sakura was aware of where he was leaving from, she didn't make anything of it. She did notice that he was being discreet though, so rather than approach him straight away, she just fell in step following after him. Eventually he'd address her, and then he couldn't say she'd blown whatever stealth he was attempting.
