Ah yes, another long-awaited Sunshineverse meme!

As the name suggests, this meme is fairly straightforward: bring out the cute academy aged icons, because we'll be playing everyone as their young, academy aged selves! This time it's pretty straightforward, but here's a step by step anyway.

Step one: Post a top level comment with your character's name and affiliation at the time of their academy training. You should probably include their age--again, at the time they'd be in the academy--along with it. If, for whatever reason, your character didn't go to a ninja academy, probably just post them as a child around the time other kids would have been in the academy

Step two: Given the nature of this meme, you may want to include a scenario or two for people to tag into, but otherwise, it's a good idea to include relevant information people will need if they tag your character. If during their childhood they refused to leave trees, preferred to henge into a puddle to make people slip on them, or killed people indiscriminately, these are good things for people to know.

Step three: Tag to others, and relive your ~~high school~~ Academy days!

NOTE: Ages in this meme are synched up. That means school-kid Karin won't be able to kick it with school-kid Kushina. But! A school-kid Karin could end up interacting with a somewhat younger than current canon Kushina!

1: Although it isn't required to, all tags and threads in this meme can absolutely count toward actual in-game history for the characters involved!

[Notes!!!!

Obito has a very strong tendency to being a temperamental little brat, crying, and running away from people picking on him at six and seven. By age nine he's picked up the tendency to punch people for upsetting him too -coughs- so long as they aren't adults anyway.

You can poke him in Academy, at some training fields Academy students are known to use, at a tea shop he likes to frequent and always gets an extra Dango stick at because he helps out at the place sometimes, or around the Uchiha district. Or you could just grab him as he's running off somewhere because he realized he was supposed to be there and he's trying super hard, and failing, in not being late.

Go. Fight. Win! He was put on team Minato in the autumn of his being 9 so early team Minato is so totally fair game too. Come'n get meeeee!]

She'd completed her work for the day, because most of what today was really didn't apply to aspiring girl medical ninjas, and she was usually pretty quick about what she did get. Thus, she didn't really have anything better to do than run around town looking for fun things to do (or people to practice on).

Naturally, this meant chasing after Obito as soon as she saw him. He always seemed to find trouble (in her opinion), so either they'd do something fun, or at least maybe he'd let her put a bandage on him if he got hurt.

She waved at him as she ran toward him, calling out. "Obito~!"

...If he tried to run away like most of the boys in class tended to when she approached them alone, she'd just chase him ~~eventually she was pretty sure he'd trip~~.

He didn't run though. He never ran away from Rin, instead freezing, and this was a poorly timed freeze as he had been running and it landed him firmly on the ground as he stumbled then tripped trying to come to a halt.

Ow. And in front of Rin too, ugh!!

He quickly shoved to his feet, trying to play off that he was totally fine. "Hey Rin!"

Oh no! She didn't expect him to trip like that. It wasn't because of her, right? Maybe it was...? He did sort of stop before he crashed to a halt, right?

She gasped and sprinted over to him, expression worried and hands up in front of her face. "Oh no, are you okay?!"

He tried to play it off like that hadn't even been a little painful because it was just fine. Totally fine. And he dusted at himself, ignoring what was promising to be a nice tender spot on his hip. "Yep, totally fine. See?" He lifted his hands, waving her off.

She didn't really believe that, though. She'd fallen down like that (maybe not exactly, but...) before and it had hurt when she'd done that.

She pursed her lips and put her tiny hands on her hips, leaning in to inspect him better (though it was mostly to inspect his expression for pain or a growing nose). "Are you sure? Because it looked like you hurt yourself!"

"Ahhh.... No, I'm good, really!" He was very red in the face though. "Just a little clumsy, honest!"

She eyed him skeptically for a few moments, then nodded. "...Okay. But if you're hurt let me see, okay? Because I can heal it!" She puffed her chest out a little. And...okay maybe she could only heal little nicks and bruises, but still.

She reached out to grab his hand then, suddenly excited by remembering why she'd come looking for him. "Obito! Come and play with me!"

"Okay, I will." He felt a flush rising on his face when she grabbed him and looked to his hand, then back to her face. "Okay! What do you want to do?"

"I dunno!" For the moment she seemed content to take him at his word once she was done showing off about her abilities. Maybe it was because she mostly just wanted to play with him now that she had free time. "Do you want to play tag or hide-and-seek?"

There were plenty of ninja applications for playing those games. She could definitely get away with playing those.

He peered at her for a moment, chewing on his bottom lip before untangling their fingers and reaching up, poking her in the cheek. "Tag!"

Then he turned and fled.

[She'd heard about Minato's students after every training session and mission they had. And today was the day he was going to introduce her to them. To help ease her introduction, she had a basket of food for everyone to enjoy over a break.

But on the way, she nearly walked into some kid running for the training fields.]

Hey! Watch where you're going!

[She stepped out into the road to shake her fist at him as she yelled after him, and that was when she noticed the Uchiha fan on the back of his navy jacket. An Uchiha that was usually late? Could this be Minato's student?]

He skidded to a halt, then pivoted around in place so he was going backwards, a bright flush coming to his cheeks as he took in the woman he about ran over. "Sorry! I didn't mean to trip you up!"

"Where do you think you're going in such a hurry anyway?" she asked. "Something on fire?"

Even as she beckoned him over, she was walking a little closer. It was pretty tempting to sock him for his crime, but she had a different idea for him.

"I'm really sorry but I kind of really need to go!" He didn't fight the becoming though, moving over to her even after a glance back the way he'd been going.

"You can make things up to me by carrying my basket. I'm bringing my boyfriend and his team some food."

She held out the basket to him, clearly expecting him not to refuse. After all, he'd nearly run her over. Sort of.

Unless she magically became his Sensei's girlfriend, which he doubted really seriously because this lady seemed too cool for his Sensei, he was going to be crazy late.

Well.

No help for it.

Sighing inwardly, he reached up and took the basket. "Okay."

She grinned a little and waved at him to follow her.

"So what's your name anyway?"

He looked sideways at her, trailing after her and just... relaxing. No point stressing over being late. He flashed her a grin. "Obito. You?"

Bingo. She'd found Minato's student that had apparently declared he'd be Hokage one day. This kid had no idea how lucky he was.

"You can address me as 'Kushina-sama'. It's the least you can do for almost ruining all my hard work."

Maybe she was teasing him a bit, maybe she wasn't. Who knew.

He hummed, leaning from side to side, then flashed her a brilliant smile and bounced to the side a step so she couldn't take a swing at him if she was the type. "Nah, you're not Hokage." He sounded absolutely cheerful. "But I'll call you Kushina-nee, you're plenty young enough for that~."

Ooh, lucky kid, she'd been about to aim a punch for his head.

"How young do I look to you anyway? Maybe I'm gonna be Hokage when old man Sandaime steps down."

Not that she was seriously contending for it. Or claiming to. There was someone else she was supporting for that position.

"Mmmm you could do it but only if you're keeping the seat warm for meee~." He waved a hand at her, the other holding the basket to his chest.

"What, you think you're gonna be Hokage?" she asked with a snort. "Dream on, kid."

"Ha! It's not a dream, it's a prophesy, and don't you forget it~!"
