Test Drive Post!
Sunshineverse | ||||
Okay everyone, it's time to test some people out! The rules of the game are simple. You have a character you would like to try out as a native to the setting of this game. You want to see if this is the right setting to play said character in, right? Well, then all you have to do is drop them into this post as a top level comment with this as the header: Character name | Series (OC's just put Original here) | Planned Village Affiliation Then you comment around and play with everyone else! If you need some ideas on how to get started, you can drop your character in during the middle of a mission, have them at an eatery around their village, or maybe even just doing weapons practice. It's up to you how you want to set out, so feel free to put your characters in this version of the Naruto universe however it most seems appropriate. Just be sure to say where you put them somewhere in your post though, otherwise two people might not even be threading in the same country. One last thing! Remember that your character was born in this universe, so whatever else you decide, your character is a world native, even if they might be a tourist in the village you decided to test them out on. And that's it. Just be good to each other and have fun! Threads you do here can count toward future activity checks, so long as the person you're threading with gets in too. These threads can also be used for samples on your application.

Jiraiya | Naruto | Konohagakure
Mostly it was quiet visits, in and out, with only brief stops to do a little research (Konoha still produced plenty of beauties, heheh), and visit his friends and family. But today he was feeling like something a little different! He'd been a little bored lately, with Naruto having returned home, and what a way to get a little excitement. Maybe meet some fans.
Besides, if he didn't practice his poses from time to time, he'd get rusty. So Jiraiya strolled up to the gate, drew himself up to his full height, cleared his throat, and posed.
"Dry your eyes, for the great Toad Sage has returned to you! Mount Myoboku's Great Jiraiya, with peerless pen, and astounding shinobi arts, has heard your cries for--"
The shinobi at the gate just held out a hand. "Papers, please."
Jiraiya stamped his geta on the ground and crossed his arms. Rude!

Old guy with wild hair coming through. She witnessed the scene with eyes-hardblinking at what one of them was witnessing. The other was just being a copy-cat. Still, the scene was kind of hard not to watch as she happened to be in the area, and -- peerless pen? Astounding Shinobi Arts? The name Jiraiya was kind of familiar, even though she couldn't put her finger on why at the moment.
Still, what kind of moron bragged about being a great Shinobi? Seriously?
Well, it wasn't any of her business. She stopped staring after a bit and tried to walk away, even if her curiosity wanted her to pursue the subject more.

"What's that look for!" He crossed his arms and fitted the young kid with a stern look. "If you'd let me finish my pose you'd know I am who those say I am. Even without, I am very recognizable."
He shook his head and gestured Adela closer. "Why, I'm sure this young chickadee recognized one of the Legendary Sannin right away, but was too shy to ask for my autograph. Don't worry! I would be happy to autograph... a copy--"
Jiraiya winked, but then coughed. She was a little young for Icha Icha. Well! Even if it hadn't sold well, there was still the Tale of the Utterly Gutsy Ninja!
"--of my debut novel for you!"

It was going to bug her all day. She just knew it.
Still, a shinobi author... It'd be more weird if she wasn't used to seeing ninja leading dual careers, but that he was successful had to say something right?
no subject
Jiraiya laughed, a little over-dramatic but he did indeed keep copies of all his books on his person, so he whipped out a copy and signed it with a flourish. "Jiraiya of the Legendary Three." Even one glance at the back cover or inside would reveal that the hero of the book was named Naruto.
"Say, I'll even personalize it for you. What's your name?"
no subject
"... It's Adela..." She blinked hard at him, mouth agape as it processed before she snapped out of it and her voiced raised, "Wait, you're that Jiraiya!? Of the Sannin!?"
no subject
"That makes sense, doesn't it?"
no subject
That done, he turned to Iruka, and the annoyance softened a little. This was one of the Academy teachers, wasn't it? He'd have to do another check up on which ninja worked where soon. It was good to keep up with the structure of the village and the shinobi in it!
His put upon expression was partly an act. Partly. "No one ever lets me finish my poses. I was going to turn over the papers when I was done!"
no subject
no subject
"Papers," he repeated. "Even if we recognize you, Jiraiya-sama, the procedures are in place for a reason."
Not that Tsunade seemed to put much stock in doing anything other than wandering flagrantly in and out of the village as she pleased, but Sasuke was reasonably certain that she at least generally expected to be recognized without a song-and-dance routine to announce herself. (It was difficult to imagine Tsunade together with song-and-dance in the same sentence, really, though song alone was not completely unheard of after enough sake.)
no subject
"You still could have let me finish my pose first."
Was that one of the Legendary Sannin sulking? Yes, it certainly was, though Jiraiya did present his papers in the next moment, all in perfect order.
"Youngsters, these days! So impatient."
no subject
But they were apparently shortstaffed at the moment (Sasuke had his suspicions), which meant Sasuke was the one handing the papers back with a bland: "You're recognizable enough without needing to introduce yourself with a pose, Jiraiya-sama.
"Will you need an escort?"
no subject
But what was done was done and there was no use dwelling on it. He'd complete the next one! Jiraiya did put some consideration into the question. He didn't need one! An escort would end up crimping his style. On the other hand, this poor Uchiha looked bored and Jiraiya could always use a challenge when it came to getting rid of the kid.
"I don't need one, but I will take advantage this time! Let's see how you do-- Say, what's your name?"
no subject
... but it was apparently necessary to walk around and listen to it. Sasuke didn't quite hide the incredulity in the look he shot at the man before he schooled his face into something more appropriate -- it would at least be something to do other than 'sit at the gate and process paperwork'. He signalled to the other ninja on gate guard, letting her know that she should call the next person in line for gate duty to take his place.
"Uchiha Sasuke," he answered, giving his family name with unnecessary habit; he was dressed with an Uchiha fan emblazoned on the back of his shirt, as usual, and had been told more than once that his face might as well wear one as well. "Which parts of the village do you intend to visit?"
[[this is great omg]]
Mika felt a wave of nostalgia as she was walking by the gates, the voice was vaguely familiar and the name more so. Jiraiya? As in the that guy who writes those books?
The very same ones that had gotten Mika to seriously begin questioning her sexuality???
Along with her brother's porn magazines? She did a half turn to look at the man, sort of expecting-- something amazing given the loud entrance. The expression on her face was priceless. Great, an old white haired man. Disappointment. Did she really want his autograph now?
Unfortunately Mika was too slow in making up her mind as Jiraiya was already walking through the gates and she's sure that they've made eye contact. She'd been staring right at him. So the woman put on a smile to hide her previous sour look. Oh gods was he going to talk to her.
