Test Drive Post!
Sunshineverse | ||||
Okay everyone, it's time to test some people out! The rules of the game are simple. You have a character you would like to try out as a native to the setting of this game. You want to see if this is the right setting to play said character in, right? Well, then all you have to do is drop them into this post as a top level comment with this as the header: Character name | Series (OC's just put Original here) | Planned Village Affiliation Then you comment around and play with everyone else! If you need some ideas on how to get started, you can drop your character in during the middle of a mission, have them at an eatery around their village, or maybe even just doing weapons practice. It's up to you how you want to set out, so feel free to put your characters in this version of the Naruto universe however it most seems appropriate. Just be sure to say where you put them somewhere in your post though, otherwise two people might not even be threading in the same country. One last thing! Remember that your character was born in this universe, so whatever else you decide, your character is a world native, even if they might be a tourist in the village you decided to test them out on. And that's it. Just be good to each other and have fun! Threads you do here can count toward future activity checks, so long as the person you're threading with gets in too. These threads can also be used for samples on your application.

"Hardly," he says. "Itachi's schedule is too unpredictable these days to anticipate, even if I had any idea what it was."
If there's an unhappy mixture of irritation and gratitude for that this month in particular, he ignores it in favour of leaning back in his chair and narrowing his eyes at her state. There aren't visible injuries that he can see, which isn't itself any viable reason to assume good health. That she's wolfing down noodles and not at the hospital is ... well, given how long Ayane has been a shinobi, also not particularly good evidence of no injury.
"Did you check in with the hospital before coming here?" It's the most effort he can put into implying you look like crap without simply saying it.
I HOPE I AM REMEMBERING THINGS RIGHT sweats nervously
But speaking of familial concern, she can't help but lift a brow at Sasuke's inquiry.
"Do I look like I need-- ...Nevermind, don't answer that." If anything she probably shares some vague resemblance with his own father, sleep-deprived and baggy and all that. (Not that she's careless enough to insult Uncle Fugaku in public.)
"I'm fine," she insists with a dismissive motion of her hand. "Still got this arm properly attached, but if you're really worried you're free to give me a checkup."
She doesn't exactly waggle her eyebrows, but if the comment (more sarcastic than actually suggestive) doesn't deter him from pressing the issue she's not sure what will...
IT'S OK I'LL PROBABLY FORGET THINGS TOO reaches for with sweaty hands
The topic of Ayane's health is considerably easier. Sasuke kicks back in his chair until he's balanced on its back legs, folding his arms and craning his neck so he can give her a more complete once-over.
The clan is bad enough at making personal boundaries fuzzy; spending his formative years around grouchy and impatient medics has probably not helped on that front. On the bright side, her prosthetic does look like it's still firmly in place and not awkwardly loose. He's tempted to do a second sweep with the Sharingan to check for chakra irregularities, but that is at least a breach of conduct that he'll reserve for immediate family.
"Shinobi get cocky after being in the field for as many years as you have," he says, putting emphasis on many. "Too many of us end up burning out early from preventable problems."

(Ayane's listening intently enough to her cousin's snippets of wisdom, even if it doesn't exactly look like it. ...Or sound like it.)
"So where does that put you, little Sasuke? At the rate I hear you're jumping through ranks, I bet you'll be a puddle of wax before the year's out."
She tips her head to the side and flashes a quiet smile, sideways and yet genuine. "But you know, I'd rather end up as a puddle of wax than a musty candle that's been forgotten in the basement."
(Burn twice as bright, and all that poetic garbage.) Anyhow, she points at the nearest menu. "You want anything? I'm cashing in soon, so..."
She breaks off with a shrug, indicating it's her treat.

"I only just made jounin, Ayane-baa-san," with the habitual literally years after Itachi did not so much unspoken as assumed present. "I'll have to start clearing out my spot in the basement at this rate."
His disappointment with himself is constant enough that it's a second skin, though, and not one so noticeable anymore as to stop his hunger. (The hunger has been almost comforting this month, actually. Apparently even soul-searching following a mission that drew his entire life's purpose into question can't kill his appetite.) He's already pulling the menu to his side of the table when her offer trails off, glancing over the pictures with avarice.
"If you're sure you want to cover me," he says, a last-chance offer to save her wallet that is at least twenty-five percent sincere.
