The NPC Meme



I'm sure someone knows their names...

Welcome to the NPC meme! This meme has certain special rules and functions unlike many other memes! In this meme, the NPC journal isn't just encouraged, it's how you play. Or, at least...how someone involved in the thread does.

The premise is simple: You post your character to lure in some characters who aren't currently being played, and someone else brings in the NPC journal with their interpretation of that character. You play a thread! CR gaps filled!

Alternatively, if you have a character you might be interested in playing in the capacity of an NPC (such as a character you don't want to app, and thus put in a test drive, for one reason or another) then post a top level for that NPC.

Currently played characters may tag out only to NPC top level comments, not to each other. NPC characters could tag to anyone. However, since threads in this meme are eligible for AC (and therefore game canon), it's best for NPCs to tag current characters, rather than other NPCs.

Steps/Rules

1: Post a top level with either your character or an NPC you'd like to play for the meme (Using the NPC account!) - If you're looking for someone specific to tag you, be sure to include it in the top level somewhere so people know to bring them.

2: With your characters, tag out to NPC top-levels or wait for an NPC to tag you. With NPCs, tag out to top level 'current' character threads, or respond to characters that tag your NPC of choice.

3: Thread things that can't yet be played out, or might never be able to be played out!

4: When playing an NPC, since you'll be using the NPC account to do it, don't forget to track the thread with one of your own accounts! (If you have a paid, at least. For free accounts, it's still recommended that you track at least the entire post so you don't miss anything!)

He wasn't one for crowds, so it was usually a surprise to see him out and about even on a slow evening. There'd been an itch to go outside, perhaps the house had gotten a little stifling for the teen. Whatever whim brought him outside made villagers wary and they wisely kept their distance. He was used to that and frankly he didn't feel up for any interaction right then.

Gaara wasn't the only of the siblings to find the house stifling. Temari had been up on the roof watching the people walk the streets below. She wouldn't have even thought to drop down to the street if she hadn't noticed her brother cutting a wide swath amongst the crowd.

"Gaara?" She asks falling into step with her youngest brother.

Barely a glance was sent her way, Gaara didn't mind his sister's company so much and he kept his pace. "Temari, are you in need of something?" Why else would she follow him?

"No, not right now." How does she phrase that she was surprised to see him out and about? That it was nice to see him out among the people even if only for a short time. Or that she was curious what brought him outside at all. "What brings you outside?"

"I felt that fresh air was needed." As always his replies are curt, he didn't see why an explanation was necessary but he would at least provide an answer. Did she want to keep an eye on him? Gaara didn't voice his thoughts just yet, instead he made a turn toward a small tea shop. He hadn't been to this one in some time. If he recalled correctly they served a rather palatable red tea. A shame they didn't serve much else, he usually got an intense craving for meat while outside.
