The NPC Meme



I'm sure someone knows their names...

Welcome to the NPC meme! This meme has certain special rules and functions unlike many other memes! In this meme, the NPC journal isn't just encouraged, it's how you play. Or, at least...how someone involved in the thread does.

The premise is simple: You post your character to lure in some characters who aren't currently being played, and someone else brings in the NPC journal with their interpretation of that character. You play a thread! CR gaps filled!

Alternatively, if you have a character you might be interested in playing in the capacity of an NPC (such as a character you don't want to app, and thus put in a test drive, for one reason or another) then post a top level for that NPC.

Currently played characters may tag out only to NPC top level comments, not to each other. NPC characters could tag to anyone. However, since threads in this meme are eligible for AC (and therefore game canon), it's best for NPCs to tag current characters, rather than other NPCs.

Steps/Rules

1: Post a top level with either your character or an NPC you'd like to play for the meme (Using the NPC account!) - If you're looking for someone specific to tag you, be sure to include it in the top level somewhere so people know to bring them.

2: With your characters, tag out to NPC top-levels or wait for an NPC to tag you. With NPCs, tag out to top level 'current' character threads, or respond to characters that tag your NPC of choice.

3: Thread things that can't yet be played out, or might never be able to be played out!

4: When playing an NPC, since you'll be using the NPC account to do it, don't forget to track the thread with one of your own accounts! (If you have a paid, at least. For free accounts, it's still recommended that you track at least the entire post so you don't miss anything!)

Of all the things Yamato expected to see on his return trip from the market, the vision of yellow silks and red curls that twirled past him, was not one of them.
He stopped dead, blinking owlishly as his mind processed exactly what it had seen and prompted a complete about turn, his sturdy form lunging forward to grasp a pale wrist and halt it's owners progress. Oh he was going to kill her.

He drew level with his wayward sibling, voice low and expression alarmed as he attempted not to draw more attention to them than he already had.

"Yukimi!? What in the hells are you doing here?"

"Tenzou!" She practically sang as she was spun around to meet her brother's gaze. She couldn't help spare a momentary thought for how cute he looked when he was angry, and without single thought for keeping her presence a secret, she grabbed his free hand with her own and beamed at him. "Surprise! I came to see you for once! Now you can show me all the things you've been telling me about!"

"You don't have any papers, 'Kimi! How did you get past the gate in the first place?"

Visions and memories of her past tales of subterfuge, suddenly swam before his minds eye and Yamato shook his head to banish them.

"Actually, on second thought, don't. If you tell me, I'll have to report it.."

usually she visited during public holidays and festivals, when the village was open to travelers, but out of the blue like this?

..He was already beginning to get a headache.

Yukimi had opened her mouth to regail Tenzou with the tale of her deceptive and commendable talents in infiltration, and probably to throw in a few comments about how Konoha really needed to step up their game (and so did he!) if it let unlicensed travellers in so easily... but her brothers words stopped her. "What, you'd really report me, Tenzou?" she asked, a pout visibly forming as she looked up at him with her glassy violet eyes. "So mean.."

"I'm part of the Hokage's personal guard, I'd be in breach of so many regulations if I didn't, 'Kimi..."

It almost turned into a whine at the end, something he hadn't actually done since he was a teenager but Yukimi just seemed to bring that out in him regardless.
Yamato eyed her warily as his mind worked.

"How long are you planning to be here, anyway?"
