Okay everyone, it's time to test some people out! The rules of the game are simple. You have a character you would like to try out as a native to the setting of this game. You want to see if this is the right setting to play said character in, right? Well, then all you have to do is drop them into this post as a top level comment with this as the header: Character name | Series (OC's just put Original here) | Planned Village Affiliation Then you comment around and play with everyone else! If you need some ideas on how to get started, you can drop your character in during the middle of a mission, have them at an eatery around their village, or maybe even just doing weapons practice. It's up to you how you want to set out, so feel free to put your characters in this version of the Naruto universe however it most seems appropriate. Just be sure to say where you put them somewhere in your post though, otherwise two people might not even be threading in the same country. One last thing! Remember that your character was born in this universe, so whatever else you decide, your character is a world native, even if they might be a tourist in the village you decided to test them out on. And that's it. Just be good to each other and have fun! Threads you do here can count toward future activity checks, so long as the person you're threading with gets in too. Without looking up, Shino raised his arm, small hand outstretched and the beetle that had alighted on the girls shoulder took flight, looping it's way back to it's young inn keeper.

It's chakra and careful patterns spoke of safety, or at least a lack of threat; ally and known spelled out for his consideration.
Shino nodded (a habit that he still struggled to suppress, but the movement was a lesser one now than past days) and looked up to openly regard the figure at the tree line, offering the smallest of waves in greeting.

Ah! She ducked back behind the tree, startled and almost frightened by the action. She peeked out again after too long though, taking time to look and recognize that it wasn't a threatening gesture and he wasn't mad or anything like that. At least, she didn't think her upperclassman was mad. The little girl peeked out a bit more then, clearly uncomfortable but otherwise not taking any action either to fight or flee.

It was quiet, but she did try to pick up her voice a little so that the other could at least hear her, "... Hullo."

He caught her greeting and inclined his head, waving again in something more like a beckon. If they wanted to come closer, they could, he wasn't scared of them. Though the thought had occurred to him that the reverse might be true and so Shino went back to regarding his ants, allowing the figure the chance to pass through or come closer still.

She definitely took her time, but the girl finally did step closer. Each step was timid and uncertain, but soon she was close enough to actually see what he was doing, and...

"What're the ants doing?" At last she spoke again, switching her gaze between Shino and the ants as she crouched to look more closely.

"They are making the most of spring and gathering food to restock their supplies after winter.."

Small hands were careful as they removed debris from the surrounding area, giving the soldiers room to work. Shino's glasses gave him the advantage of being able to glance up unseen and study his new companion and he took advantage of that fact.

Red hair. An Uzumaki then? Or perhaps an Akamichi cousin.. No, missing clan tattoo's, it can't be. He pondered, certain he'd seen the girl before, perhaps at the academy then? This would require further investigation.

"Where you looking for something?"

"No... Was just curious..." Adela shook her head while she watched intently, interested in the journey that was surely much more perilous for the ants than she could even imagine. It was kind of cool, even though she didn't know how to admit it. It wasn't like they were crawling all over her skin or food or anything, they were just living so there was no reason to bother them. That the boy there was helping them was kinda neat, too.

Shino nodded in response an even bob of his head and regarded the ants for a little longer before curiosity got the better of him.

"Do you attend the academy?"

It would be a good chance to practice his information gathering and the girl seemed to be comfortable enough to be in proximity with him so far, perhaps she would be kinder in her judgement of his abilities if their conversation was successful?

"Uh-huh," Again she nodded, more calm as time kept going by. That was before she seemed a little sad, unable to hide it as she shook her head, "M'new. I only came here last month."

It was a heavy topic, even as a young child she knew that. The warning from her uncle not to speak too much about it played in her head as well, and Adela tried to change the subject while she looked up to Shino again, "D'you like the ants? I don't know a lotta people who like 'em."
