Okay everyone, it's time to test some people out! The rules of the game are simple. You have a character you would like to try out as a native to the setting of this game. You want to see if this is the right setting to play said character in, right? Well, then all you have to do is drop them into this post as a top level comment with this as the header: Character name | Series (OC's just put Original here) | Planned Village Affiliation Then you comment around and play with everyone else! If you need some ideas on how to get started, you can drop your character in during the middle of a mission, have them at an eatery around their village, or maybe even just doing weapons practice. It's up to you how you want to set out, so feel free to put your characters in this version of the Naruto universe however it most seems appropriate. Just be sure to say where you put them somewhere in your post though, otherwise two people might not even be threading in the same country. One last thing! Remember that your character was born in this universe, so whatever else you decide, your character is a world native, even if they might be a tourist in the village you decided to test them out on. And that's it. Just be good to each other and have fun! Threads you do here can count toward future activity checks, so long as the person you're threading with gets in too. Shino Aburame | Naruto | Konohagakure

Academy age:

It was warm and the fields around the Aburame holdings were alive with activity. Spring had filtered through during the past week, banishing the chill of winter during the day lit hours and it felt as if the entire natural world was making up for lost time.

Shino sat among the tall grass, back pressed against one of a number of standing stones that dotted the field, studying intently the path of a nearby ant colony he'd happened across. A small hand reached out to clear the way, carefully plucking stones and debris away from the intrepid line of worker ants; they had, between them, many heavy burdens and it just didn't seem right that they had to climb such mountains at the same time.

Chuunin age:

Winter was..inconvenient. The world slowed to a stand still and it felt to Shino that the kikaichuu did also, made sluggish by the temperature and his own troubled mood.
He wore several more layers than usual to compensate and found himself particularly fond of the overly long scarf looped around his neck; Hinata's handy work at least made the season a little more palatable and happened to be one of the few things he looked forward to when the days grew short.

Given the icey conditions, Shino's gait was as measured as ever but he stuck to the lower levels of the village, wary of the rooftops after the barrage of snow, and wound his way towards Market Street; hopeful of a warm refuge and a meal that didn't involve field rations or Kiba's dubious cooking attempts.

Assuming Shino is 9 for this or it doesn't work, Academy age!

She was still getting used to Konoha, and by about then she was incredibly lost. It had only been about a month since she arrived there with her uncle, and she was still new to academy, to Konoha... To everything. Uncle had told her to try and find her way home today, but she just ended up out by the training fields. This wasn't near the central village at all...

That was when she noticed the black-haired boy in the field, and she instinctively hid herself behind a nearby tree - standing behind the trunk, and occasionally peeking out to see what he was doing. It seemed like he was picking up stones, but why? She couldn't tell... He was by himself though. But he didn't look lost...

No but seriously she had no idea the Land of Fire was so large. Fortunately, she remains undaunted, pushes her backpack further up her shoulder, and patters over to the nearest person with metal on their face.

Hitai-ate. That's the word. She thinks. ]

Um! Excuse me! Might you be able to tell me where Uncle Kakashi lives?

He turned slightly at the question and stared down at the little girl for a long moment, taking in her hair and skin tone, then her attire. Giving one long, slow, blink, he pivoted to look at her straight on and crouched. "Uncle huh? And where are you from kiddo?"

[snowchild]

"That mountain," she responded, promptly. And pointed behind her, to where there were, presumably and eventually, mountains. Several countries away, anyway. She bounced forward on the balls of her feet, eager. "Do you know uncle?"

"That mountain... and no one is expecting you back at said mountain?" He peered behind her, then back to her. She'd just pointed at most of the continent, after all.

[snowchild]

"Nope! Everyone died. That's why I'm going to find Uncle." She looked around, then behind him, as if Kakashi would magically appear in his shadow. "Fire Country is really big, isn't it? I was really surprised!"

"It really really is." He hesitated a moment, then held out his hands to her. "So, how do you know Kakashi?"

[snowchild]

"I found him in the snow," she said, placing her own tiny hands within his without a moment's hesitation. No expectations of why, just a reaction to them being offered.

He smiled at the girl, nodding a little as he held her hands once he had them. "Decided to take care of him huh? Was this a long time ago?"

[snowchild]

Hands caught, she had to do some rapid mental arithmetic instead. Her fingers wiggled a little as she counted, though.

"Um, so he left eight days ago, and I left four days ago... so..." She thought for a moment longer, then beamed. "Not long at all!"

"I see." He nodded solemnly, watching the girl thoughtfully as he studied her face. "And you're okay with sharing Kakashi once you get to him?"

[snowchild]

If anything, that question brightened her smile several degrees. She'd had no idea Kakashi came with bonus people.

"Of course! I used to live in a biiiiig clan, after all!"

"Well good, because I'm not giving him up and I don't think anyone else is either, okay?" He eyed the girl, noted her relaxation with having her hands confined, then leaned in to sweep her up into his hold so he could stand, ready to release her if it upset her. "Got a name kiddo? I'm Obito. I'm one of the many Uchiha in this village and the Hokage, which means I lead this place."

"Itezora Konayuki. So Hokage is like the mayor?" Other than grabbing onto his jacket in surprise, she seemed perfectly delighted with becoming luggage. "What's an Uchiha? Might I ask?"

"Uchiha are my clan. Uchiha Obito is my full name. We're pretty well known for our shinobi." He settled her comfortably in his arms, taking the opportunity to examine her more carefully for her state of health as he turned to start walking. "I haven't heard of your clan though... and a Hokage is a lot closer to the Daimyo, who is basically the mayor of the whole country. I just run the military stuff."

Hm?

[ Oh my goodness, what a cutie. A strange looking little cutie. So much so that she just has to take a moment's pause. Cuz believe you/me, Tenten knows strange. ]

Oh... hello.

[ Granted, Konoha was a big place as far as villages went. But still, Tenten can't for the life of her remember ever seeing this little one running around. Where are your parents? D: ]

Who were you looking for?

Uncle Kakashi! He has a plate like that- [ Headband POINT ] -and hair like this. [ Little explosion gesture. ]

Being almost overwhelmingly healthy, chakra saturation and all, Konayuki was doing an examination of her own in return. He had a very interesting face, after all.

"My clan? That's because we live on Mount Odori, at the peak. Land-dwellers don't go there- oh! Whoops, I should say 'lived', now..!" She laughed, apparently finding that among the funniest things in the world, and thought over the rest of his explanation.

"Big brother Obito, might I ask what a Daimyo is?"

Yup! anywhere between like 6 and 12 is fiiine *u*

The flash of red caught his eye almost immediately, but he showed no outward sign of noticing anything out of the ordinary, as papa said that to do so was dangerous; a shinobi stayed vigilant until the last possible moment and acted without haste, he wasn't about to argue.

Shino continued to aid his new ant friends in their endeavors, setting up a small leaf walk way over a rather deep trench in the dirt and kept himself occupied until the kikaichuu sentry he'd sent out to investigate could report back on exactly who or what, was observing him from the tree line.

That's what I thought you said.

[ And. Well.

That is definitely an accurate description of his hair, if it's the guy she's thinking of. But really. There's only one Kakashi she knows of. And he definitely had a 'plate like that' and 'hair like this.'

She can't help but smile at it, doing her best to stifle a chuckle, kneeling down to be somewhat eye level with this precious snow baby. ]

And how do you know Kakashi-san?

[ As the pretty lady kneels, Konayuki spends most of the movement being amazed at her hair. It looks like a bear! She didn't know ground-dwellers' hair could do that. ] I found him in the snow. [ This is her absolute story and she will always tell it like that. ] He said he'd come and fetch me, but that was four days ago... so I came to find him instead, as a surprise! But the land down the mountain is much bigger than I imagined. [ Whoops. ]

In the snow, huh?

[ Must've been some recent mission, if it was four days ago. Up north, likely, if snow was involved. And mountains. ]

I bet he was thankful that you found him. [ Frowns, just the smallest bit, more in sympathy to this little cutie than anything else. ] But that wasn't very nice of him to leave you all alone for so long.

[ And yes, well. The shinobi nations were kinda big. How this girl managed to make the travel on her own... Impressive indeed. ]

I bet you had to walk for a long time to get here. Are you hungry? Tired?

She'd walked this way a few times before, usually with Shino showing her the way so she didn't step anywhere she shouldn't. But when she stopped by after class let out for the day, Shino wasn't home. His father had said he was out in the fields, and it only took a few moments for Hinata to find him with her byakugan. Her small bag slung over her shoulder as she followed the winding path with careful steps.

"Shino-kun?" she murmurs as she edges closer head tilted in curiosity at what he's looking at this time. Unlike their classmates, she was generally unperturbed by his interest in anything with six legs. It was interesting to hear him explain what he already knew about the insect species in question.

Silently she continued to watch, having failed to notice the little bug landing on her shoulder in the meantime. He was putting leaves down, picking up rocks... Just what was it all? Was it setting up for a trap? No, it didn't look like it. She didn't get it...

Finally the girl stepped out a little more from the tree, watching him a bit more boldly. Not that she'd keep going if she was addressed, but she was curious regardless.
