Test Drive Post!
Sunshineverse | ||||
Okay everyone, it's time to test some people out! The rules of the game are simple. You have a character you would like to try out as a native to the setting of this game. You want to see if this is the right setting to play said character in, right? Well, then all you have to do is drop them into this post as a top level comment with this as the header: Character name | Series (OC's just put Original here) | Planned Village Affiliation Then you comment around and play with everyone else! If you need some ideas on how to get started, you can drop your character in during the middle of a mission, have them at an eatery around their village, or maybe even just doing weapons practice. It's up to you how you want to set out, so feel free to put your characters in this version of the Naruto universe however it most seems appropriate. Just be sure to say where you put them somewhere in your post though, otherwise two people might not even be threading in the same country. One last thing! Remember that your character was born in this universe, so whatever else you decide, your character is a world native, even if they might be a tourist in the village you decided to test them out on. And that's it. Just be good to each other and have fun! Threads you do here can count toward future activity checks, so long as the person you're threading with gets in too. These threads can also be used for samples on your application.

She glances back over her shoulder, eyes scanning those cliffs. She can spot whispers of their comrades if she squints. Not them specifically, but the telltale signs that something up along that ridge is not purely nature. Or maybe it was just her familiarity with how Gale developed tactical deployments, sometimes she wasn't sure, but she knew they were there watching through their own scopes and she let her lips turn upward just a moment before turning back to face the slow rolling ocean.
"They'll be thinking along the same lines." It makes sense that they would try to use their lack of information against them. They've lived in such a small world for so long that they're bound to have different ideas of what things are worth than those from the outside. "Food should be a priority if they seem reasonable." It was something Gale was likely already considering, but it didn't hurt to remind him that the tribe was ever hungry and what was left of the natural wildlife would only last so long.

Argilla's statement also makes sense. The island will not support them for long, but he's wary of revealing that need right now. The Atma are so new to them, and they've all had vastly different reactions to that new need. It's all but impossible to accurately determine what a stranger's reaction will be.
But on the other hand, not enough food will end badly. They need to find a middle ground. "We will need to pursue avenues of food. But if they turn out to be enemies..."
It's almost... sad, that part of him wants them to be. It's his mind rationalizing an excuse to make his hunger less unacceptable.

"We do as we always have if they are. Lord knows Heat would prefer that they are." Not that she had to mention it, Gale knew that as well as she did. Their red haired comrade had embraced their changes and he sought conflict wherever possible in order to feed his demon. Was always the quickest to admit that he was hungry, even in the most miniscule way.
She sighs, "People... import livestock all the time?" It would be the easiest cover for their problem.

Her suggestion isn't a bad one, but Gale wonders slightly if regular livestock would satisfy. This knowledge they've rediscovers indicates that this island is full of creatures called Summons, and Gale knows enough to know that they aren't generally used for livestock, being too valuable. And even these Summons don't always satisfy the hunger enough. Still needing to import food is a good cover, if they can only get the right food.
"It is worth the attempt. If it does not prove adequate, we will find some other means."

She nods, "We'll have a better idea of our options once we get more information." Of that much she is sure. Right now they have too many fractured pieces of information and not all of them fit together neatly with what the others know to create clear pictures. She imagines that frustrates Gale the most.
"It bothers you, not having all the information doesn't it?"

Then she asks that question, and his mouth quirks in a smile that doesn't quite make it into the light before it's gone. "Knowledge is power, Argilla. Now more than ever. But I will learn to adapt."
They have before, and gotten out of traps and betrayal to come back stronger. He will adapt; he has to. Knowledge is something he doubts he'll ever have enough of to feel comfortable ever again.

Words bubble up then, teasing words, light-hearted. The words are almost out of place for such a serious situation, but they feel appropriate. "Of that I have no doubt." She very nearly grins then, her body language reading relaxed and lacking in the tension she'd had when they began their conversation.
It would come back, but for the moment it was nice to feel sort of free in the company of a comrade.

There is very little else he can do to prepare with so little information, so Gale closes his eyes for a moment, trusting that Argilla will remain alert. It's pleasant, standing here with the salt wind and the sand, and Argilla right next to him.
"Good. Doubt is unnecessary among comrades."

"I know. Thank you for reminding me of that." She's still nervous of course, but it's much easier to ignore now that she's voiced her worried to Gale. She could always count on him to put things back into perspective even when it frustrated her that he had to do that at all.
